Robin Hood [2010] - I am Interested!

In 13th century England, Robin and his band of marauders confront corruption in a local village and challenge the crown to alter the balance of power between the king and all of his subjects. And whether outlaw or hero, one man from humble beginnings will become an eternal symbol of freedom for his people.
Robin Hood chronicles the life of an expert archer, previously interested only in self-preservation, from his service in King Richard I’s army against the French. Upon Richard’s death, Robin travels to Nottingham, a town suffering from the corruption of a despotic sheriff and crippling taxation, where he falls for the spirited widow Lady Marion (Oscar® winner Cate Blanchett of The Aviator, Elizabeth), a woman skeptical of the identity and motivations of this crusader from the forest. Hoping to earn the hand of Maid Marion and salvage the village, Robin assembles a gang whose lethal mercenary skills are matched only by its appetite for life. With their country weakened from decades of war, embattled from the ineffective rule of the new king and vulnerable to insurgencies from within and threats from afar, Robin and his men heed a call to ever greater adventure. This unlikeliest of heroes and his allies set off to protect their country from slipping into bloody civil war and return glory to England once more.

Then there was... Kick-Ass!

KICK-ASS tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers whatsoever.

His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes -- including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) -- and forges a friendship with another fledgling crimefighter, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But thanks to the scheming of a local mob boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong), that new alliance will be put to the test.

Before Defendor... there was Mystery Team!

With over 100 million hits, Internet sensation Derrick Comedy’s first feature film is making its way onto DVD and digital download from Lionsgate. Deemed “nerdy, nutty, perfectly pitched” (Austin Chronicle), and “funnier and more original than 99% of the comedies Hollywood releases nowadays” (Slashfilm.com), Mystery Team garnered impressive critical acclaim with its opening at the Sundance Film Festival. The film stars Donald Glover (TV’s “Community”), Aubrey Plaza (Funny People), Bobby Moynihan (TV’s “Saturday Night Live”), DC Pierson (TV’s “Community”), Dominic Dierkes (TV’s “Parks and Recreation”) and Matt Walsh (The Hangover). The DVD comes packed with hilarious bonus features, including: deleted material, “The Making-of Mystery Team” featurette, a preproduction test scene and more!

Originally formed at NYU, Derrick Comedy’s five young members quickly rose to stardom via YouTube sketches that captured an incredible fan base nationwide. Mystery Team follows the adventures of three high-school virgins who are stuck solving childish whodunit mysteries in their neighborhood. But when these bumbling boy detectives are tasked to investigate a real murder, they see the ultimate opportunity to prove themselves once and for all. Mystery Team, described as “Encyclopedia Brown meets Napoleon Dynamite meets Ace Ventura (Cinematical).

The Telling - Cast Photo

why would you not want to watch this?

The Telling - DVD

it's no titanic...
okay i am watching this movie called "the telling" and my anticipation and expectations are high, i mean what do you get when you cross playmates, three maybe four mild stories, a creepy doll into one movie. i really don't remember, but did i mention playmates? i don't think i liked the movie for an overall, but i enjoyed the ideas they would have had if they would have made it less simple cheesy. i it looks like it was filmed in the mansion where all the playmates might have hung out, it was not a great movie... it had potential... did i mention playmates? lol

Date Night - Will It Be Too Funny?

Action-comedy maestro Shawn Levy, the director of the blockbuster "Night at the Museum" franchise, teams up with two of the comedy world's biggest talents, Steve Carell ("The 40 Year Old Virgin," "The Office") and Tina Fey ("Baby Mama," "30 Rock," "SNL") for an adventure that turns a run-of-the-mill married couple's date upside down - way upside down, in DATE NIGHT.

Phil (Carell) and Claire Foster (Fey) are a sensible, loving couple with two kids and a house in suburban New Jersey. The Fosters have their weekly "date night" - an attempt at re-experiencing the spice of the dates of yesteryear, involving the same weekly night out at the local Teaneck Tavern. Their conversations quickly drift from barely-date talk to the same chore-chat they have at the dinner table at home. Exhausted from their jobs and kids, their dates rarely end in fore- or any other kind of play, let alone romance.

After seeing two of their best friends - another married couple with kids in suburban New Jersey - split apart from living the same life they themselves lead, Phil and Claire begin to fear what may lie ahead: a state of bland indifference and eventual separation.

In an attempt to take date night off auto-pilot, and hopefully inject a little spice into their lives, Phil decides a change of plans is in order: take Claire into Manhattan to the city's hottest new restaurant. The Fosters, however, don't have reservations. Hoping to be seated sometime before the clock strikes twelve, they steal a no-show couple's reservations. What could it hurt? Phil and Claire are now the Tripplehorns.

The real Tripplehorns, however, it turns out, are a thieving couple who are being hunted down by a pair of corrupt cops for having stolen property from some very dangerous people. Forced on the run before they've even finished their risotto, Phil and Claire soon realize that their play-date-for-parents has gone hilariously awry, as they embark on a wild and dangerous series of crazy adventures to save their lives. . . and their marriage.

Repo Men - March 19th

In the futuristic action-thriller Repo Men, humans have extended and improved our lives through highly sophisticated and expensive mechanical organs created by a company called The Union. The dark side of these medical breakthroughs is that if you don't pay your bill, The Union sends its highly skilled repo men to take back its property...with no concern for your comfort or survival.

Jude Law plays Remy, one of the best organ repo men in the business. When he suffers a cardiac failure on the job, he awakens to find himself fitted with the company's top-of-the-line heart-replacement...as well as a hefty debt. But a side effect of the procedure is that his heart's no longer in the job. When he can't make the payments, The Union sends its toughest enforcer, Remy's former partner Jake (Academy Award® winner Forest Whitaker), to track him down.

Now that the hunter has become the hunted, Remy joins Beth (Alice Braga), another debtor who teaches him how to vanish from the system. And as he and Jake embark on a chase across a landscape populated by maniacal friends and foes, one man will become a reluctant champion for thousands on the run. http://www.repomenarecoming.com

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID - In Theatres March 19

Meet the kid who made "wimpy" cool, in a family comedy motion picture based on the best-selling illustrated novel Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney, the first in a series that has thus far sold 28 million books. DIARY OF A WIMPY KID chronicles the adventures of wisecracking pre-teen Greg Heffley, who must somehow survive the scariest time of anyone's life....middle school.

To Greg Heffley, middle school is the dumbest idea ever invented. It's a place rigged with hundreds of social landmines, not the least of which are morons, wedgies, swirlies, bullies, lunchtime banishment to the cafeteria floor - and a festering piece of cheese with nuclear cooties. To survive the never-ending ordeal and attain the recognition and status he feels he so richly deserves, Greg devises an endless series of can't-miss schemes, all of which, of course, go awry. And he's getting it all down on paper, via a diary - "it's NOT a diary, it's a journal!" Greg insists, preferring the less-sissyfied designation - filled with his opinions, thoughts, tales of family trials and tribulations, and (would-be) schoolyard triumphs. "One day when I'm famous," writes Greg, "I'll have better things to do than answer peoples' stupid questions all day." So was born the Wimpy Kid's diary.

Corey Haim - March 10th 2010

One day my brother and i with two other friends found ourselves on the set of "Lucas" back in 1985 and we just what kids do... get kicked off the set. Let me explain we were making friends and talking with everyone and at some point were asked to drive in the scene as an extra car while the actors walked to their car. We as kids said sure, no pay and no credit... just a car blip in the background. We were set and the action call was made and we drove into the take, and then bam we stopped mid shoot and yelled out to the actors "Corey Haim and Kerri Green"... Smile.
Got a few photos and sped off, here are those photos... As you could imagine wrecked scene and upset directors, we got the boot.

Corey, return to Neverland...

Alice In Wonderland - My First Thoughts...

Okay my opinion maybe null, cause my passion for the Tim Burton Film Style... he always makes it dark and face pasty and over the top real people doing over the top things. this film "alice in wonderland" gives you all of that and more considering it is a fantasy. now i want to explain i don't remember much of the book or the original cartoon version, so i remember what i remember. it picks up after several years from the child alice fell into the hole and pulls off the believability time line... not like superman returns mess. alice finds herself back down the hole and back into a adventure and i say go. if you enjoy stuff like this, you will enjoy this... at some point i didn't know what was going on, i was taking the beauty this film brought to my eyes. i did not see it in 3D, i don't like it... i get dizzy, so maybe someone who does... let me know. so in short my new favorite burton film since the last...

why is a raven like a writing desk?

Joshua Hoffine - Interview

Joshua Hoffine - Horror Photographer and More
Website: www.joshuahoffine.com
Blog: http://joshuahoffine.wordpress.com/

What is your biggest and least fear?

Something ever happening to my children is my biggest fear.

Before I made BALLOONS, I didn't realize how widespread the fear of clowns is. I actually like clowns and have a hard time seeing them as scary.

Who are some of your personal influences, not in the horror field?

The photographer Robert Parke-Harrison. Old Warner Bros and Disney cartoons. Joseph Campbell. I also interned with Nick Vedros, and he had a big impact on how I like to light my scenes.

How do you find inspiration with your art?

I look for universal fears, things we can all relate to.

What is one of your largest projects, from start to finish?

LADY BATHORY probably took the longest. It took a long time to find a space where we could build the set. And it took even longer to find someone I could hogtie and suspend from the ceiling. I don't use a lot of Photoshop, so I'm not very fast with it - getting the blood right seemed to take forever.

If you could leave one thought about your life for a complete stranger?

Follow your bliss.

And last...

One word that describes you when you were 10 and now?

Light hearted
