Top Ten Movie Countdown Blogfest
Hosted by: Alex J. Cavanaugh
I of course thought I would do films that had successful sequels, that spanned a trilogy or more. If I had to watch these films again, I would. So on to the show and enjoy my favorite films... up to this point! No particular order of films... just how I thought them out, thank you for stopping by and to good friend Alex for another successful blog-fest! Also if you make it to the bottom look for the special dancing bear, you cannot miss it...

Fantastic choices. Love the buddy flicks with Jason, Freddy etc. I also love the Chucky films. You got to love those horror icons.
ReplyDeleteLOTR made my list as well. As one film told in three parts.
great choices! I've seen them all and loved them all, though my list is romance oriented.
ReplyDeleteNo Aliens or Predators or Resident Evils? (Yeah, a lot of films with sequels.)
ReplyDeleteBond is just impressive - twenty-four films! And Marvel will sound like the Twelve Days of Christmas soon.
Thanks for participating in my blogfest - you the man!
Following from the Top Ten Movie Countdown. I like your use of films with sequels. I would also add the Star Trek series. Can't wait for the new one!
ReplyDeleteYou went unique by listing franchises only. I thought it was clever. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat picks!
As far as horror goes those would be the best in the genre. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteYikes! I forgot Harry on my list!!! Love your choices - hadn't thought of Bond either... *sigh*
ReplyDeleteSuperb list of movies. I keep meaning to see at least one of the Halloween movies, but I've never actually managed to see one all the way through.
ReplyDeleteNightmare on Elm Street would give me nightmares. - sorry, couldn't resist.

I loved the Mad Max movies too. Halloween? No thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteCool blog! Indiana Jones - Yes!!
ReplyDeleteLoved Indiana Jones! These are great series to watch. I still cringe at Freddy, though.
ReplyDeleteIndiana Jones - FTW. Although, when it comes to Star Wars, I'm in the camp that only likes the first 3 movies made, i.e. 4, 5 and 6. But I do look forward to seeing what Disney will do with 7.
ReplyDeleteOh, we've got a couple overlappers--and I probably could have included the Indiana Jones movies, too.
ReplyDeleteStar Wars made my #1 list. So many more I could have picked here, but so hard to narrow them down!
ReplyDeleteGreat list - I would have swapped the Evil Dead franchise for Harry Potter, but that's just my boomstick talking. LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't enjoy horror movies, but like a lot of your other choices some of which I might also have chosen.
ReplyDeleteJO ON FOOD, MY TRAVELS AND A SCENT OF CHOCOLATE
Great selection! I completely forgot about Indiana Jones (the trilogy, not that travesty they made afterwards)
ReplyDeleteJamie
LOVED the Indiana Jones flicks, especially the one with Sean Connery. Junior! :-D
ReplyDeleteWe had many of the same films, Jeremy. Perhaps next time it should be the TOP 20!
ReplyDeleteSequels do seem to be the measure of success.
ReplyDeleteI like One Crazy Summer a lot, too. The bit where he slaps the girls on the back is one of my favorites. I use it on my kids.
Talk about a trooper, nice job of narrowing it down. I think there's over 80 movies actually listed thar. Great job! I forgot all about 'Mad Max' I loved it when Mel was just acting like a 'regular guy'.
ReplyDeleteLoved all your picks. Forgot to add Harry Potter to my list.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea Jeremy. These are all great films. When you put all the franchises together it makes Bond that much more impressive. Would Godzilla fit too?
ReplyDeletemethinks master wants to trickst us!
ReplyDeleteNot being into horror I haven't seen the ones you listed, but the others...excellent!
ReplyDeleteMad Max -- gotta love him.
ReplyDeleteLoved Mel as Mad Max.
ReplyDeleteI have a scary story that goes with the first Nightmare on Elm Street movie.
You have to be the sequel master! Great list. There was a reason people wanted more than just one of these films.
ReplyDeleteWhat no police academy or critters or bond or godzilla or american pie, hmm yeah maybe not haha great list.
ReplyDeleteNow there's a way to get more than 10 in...lots of good choices there. If we stay away from the horror/gore we could totally veg for a week or more and have a marathon movie party using those...

I have a love/hate relationship with the Nightmare On Elm Street movies. I love them, but they scare the hell out of me!
ReplyDeleteBond! James Bond! And Star Wars too...nice selection - except the horror. I get a little squeamish about those.
ReplyDeleteNice choices. I love the old school Halloween (1 & 2)... classics!
ReplyDeleteLove the sequel take, but Holy moly, I got chills just looking at this list: Friday the 13th & Nightmare on Elm Street. *shudder*
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm a wuss.
~VR Barkowski
I love this list. Indiana Jones and the other adventure films.
ReplyDeleteForgot about Mad Max. .. there's so many films, so little time. Good collection!
Oooh, Halloween is a fantastic choice. To this day it scares me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a surprise! You do have tastes similar to mine. And here I thought I would find only horror, hahaha.
ReplyDeleteCapt Kangaroo - that goes way back!
ReplyDeleteI forgot about Mad Max, great movie. I'll stay away from the scary slasher ones though. :)
awesome list! I don't like horror too much, but every other movie in this list is my favorite :)

Ah, I forgot about Mad Max, loved those. Mel Gibson was still sane then! I am probably the only person though who has never seen Star Wars.

great choices! I've purpossely left out series, but you've done a good job collecting them!
ReplyDeleteHorror flix are the best of course! Then sci-fi. Sounds like we have a lot in common when it comes to movies.
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter and Marvel, oh yeah!!! I used to like the scary ones, but something happened in my old age, now they scare me, so I don't watch them anymore. Great list! :)
ReplyDeleteExcept for the Super Heroes & Bond, I've seen most all of your choices. Love Mad Max.
ReplyDeleteI love LOTR and The Avengers and Harry Potter and James Bond.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the Captain Kangaroo blast from the past!
OK, I am changing my list and putting all Marvel as a whole. I didn't want to leave anyone out, so I picked The Avengers, but Iron Man 1&2 and Thor should be on the list as well. Great list.
ReplyDeleteNightmare on Elm Street 3 is the moive that got me into horror movies. And I think Halloween is one of the best horror movies of all time. Great choices!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh. You got some SCARY ones on there!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic choices! Love Star Wars, Marvel films and Harry Potter :) Te esperamos por nuestro espacio, si? Abrazos.
ReplyDeleteGreat wrap up of series, but what about Police Academy? They just got better and better. OK, just kidding. :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent choices, esp. Bond. That has definitely been a great series, imo.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the first Halloween movie! I remember seeing it with friends in college, and we were screaming all the way through!
ReplyDeleteJulie
Great choices! Star Wars FTW
ReplyDeleteI like the Trilogy approach. Can't go wrong with any of these franchises!
ReplyDeleteI like the original two Star Wars best and I love Harry Potter, too.
ReplyDeleteI think you narrowed it down to the best of the best & the scariest of the scary. The Halloween and Friday the 13th series' scared the heck outta me, they were so well done. Good work, Jeremy.
ReplyDeletexoRobyn
LOL, and I thought I cheated when I have a few series counted as one.
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you in regards to both the Halloween films and Indiana Jones.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choices. These movies deserved their sequels.
ReplyDeleteWe over at Cover Girls have a love for horror and old school fright night scary movies. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteFantastic list! Nice way of including all the Marvel movies together. I was obsessed with the Nightmare on Elm Street movies as a teen. I had Freddy on my walls along with the Coreys!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is an awesome spin on the top 10. So glad I got to "meet" you through this blogfest.
ReplyDeleteWill check out your t-shirt designs too.
Oh great list! I love them all except I get too scared in the horror movies.
ReplyDeleteMad Max is a stellar choice, as is Nightmare on Elm Street. Those were the scariest.
ReplyDeleteLove the list!! Wow! I didn't know there were quite that many James Bond movies. And Halloween is my favorite horror movie.
ReplyDeletehaha, that was way more than ten, cheater ;) Love the choices.
ReplyDeleteAllison (Geek Banter)
Some truly classic series in this list. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat picks although I'm not to fond of horror movies, but I can't help it. I am a complete wuss (despite being very into serial killer true crime.)
ReplyDeleteI have to be very selective about Horror, I'm a a bit squeemish! Certain things bother me and others don't. I like The Thing - but have to turn away a little. I like Dog Soldiers - don't have to turn away. Thirty days of night - probably some turning away in that one too.
ReplyDeleteAwesome choices! I must say I could never watch Nightmare on Elm Street. Too scary for me.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices! I haven't seen Mad Max in ages, better watch it again!
ReplyDeleteI like that you grouped very successful series together. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteEek! Why does children's television have to be so creepy?! Yeah, after the dancing bear the rest of the post in moot.
ReplyDeleteLot of horror, eh?
ReplyDeleteHalloween is where I fell in love with Jamie Lee and it was a scary movie. The making of...documentary was really cool.
Friday The 13th was pretty scary but after the first couple they should have killed it. The rest are just stupid.
Never really got into the Nightmare films...not sure why.
Stars Wars...You bet!!!
Nice list Jeremy.
Halloween...the only movie from the 70s to legitimately terrify me for life. And it's the only movie to ever scare me solely because of the MUSIC.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, awesome list!
Nightmare on Elm Street freaked me out when I watched it years ago. I guess that was the point. Problem is I'm such a chicken I could never watch the rest of the series. Same with the entire Horror genre. Oh well, give me Avengers or Star Wars or LOTR any day. (:
ReplyDeleteNone of the Marvel movies have made it to my top 10 list, but they've all been brilliant so far. I can't wait for the next few releases. :3
ReplyDeleteNot one zombie film. I'm shocked. Good list...except for the scary ones. I don't do scary (unless you count Joe Pesce in Goodfellas).
ReplyDeleteLook at you totally work the parameters to get a lot more than 10 movies up there! teehee. Great choices, though.
ReplyDeleteGreat Choices. Forgot to include the Marvel movies in mine - awesome collection of movies.
ReplyDeleteGreat list, a little heavy on horror, but I've seen them all and have to agree, they deserve to make the list, at least your list! :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent, even though they all gave me nightmares -- that speaks volumes of their effectiveness!
i like your mix of adventure, fantasy and a bit of horror! new follower from the blog hop, hi!
ReplyDeleteExcept for perhaps a few Jason movies that I might have missed I have seen every movie on your list.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds.
Great lists.
