Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "THE CALL OF THE WILD" music by John Powell

Fox Music/Hollywood Records releases the digital original motion picture soundtrack to 20th Century Studio’s “The Call of the Wild,” directed by Chris Sanders (“How to Train Your Dragon).  John Powell composed the score and also co-produced the soundtrack album and score with Batu Sener.  The Call of the Wild digital score album is available today, as the film opens in U.S. theatres.

As the film takes place in the Canadian Yukon Territory during the Gold Rush days of the 1890s, Powell refers to his score as “immigrant music, a kind of music that seemed to be part of that world,” incorporating banjos, accordions, mandolins, guitars, fiddles and harmonium with Irish, English and Scottish flavors. Powell recorded the 90-piece orchestra and 60-voice choir at the Newman Scoring Stage and 5 Cat Studios.

As told to Variety, Sanders added, “Music is the closest you can get to real magic. When we work on these films, I always feel that we get about 50% there and the score takes you the other 50% of the way. John brought Buck’s voice to the story. He did the heavy lifting, story-wise. He speaks for the wilderness — he brought the environment to life — and he speaks for Buck.”

Based on Jack London’s legendary adventure, “The Call of the Wild” is a cinematic experience of a lifetime. Twentieth Century Fox vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transported to the exotic wilds of the Canadian Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest rookie on a mail-delivery dogsled team—and later its leader—Buck has embarked on an extraordinary coming-of-age journey that will lead him to ultimately discover his true place in the world and become his own master.

Employing visual effects and animation technology to bring the animals in the film to life, “The Call of the Wild” is a hybrid of live-action and animated filmmaking. Harrison Ford, one of the screen’s all-time most popular and acclaimed leading men, heads a cast that includes Omar Sy (“The Intouchables”), Dan Stevens (“Downton Abbey”), Karen Gillan (“Guardians of the Galaxy”),Bradley Whitford (“Get Out”), Cara Gee (“The Expanse”), Michael Horse (“Twin Peaks”), Jean Louisa Kelly (“Yes, Dear”), Colin Woodell (“The Purge”), Adam Fergus (“Supernatural”) and Abraham Benrubi (“The Finest Hours”). Chris Sanders (“How to Train Your Dragon”) directs from a screenplay by Michael Green (“Murder on the Orient Express”) based on the novel by Jack London. It is produced by Erwin Stoff, p.g.a. (“Unbroken”), and James Mangold, p.g.a. (“Ford v Ferrari”) with Diana Pokorny (“Downsizing”), Ryan Stafford (“War for the Planet of the Apes”) and Michael Green serving as executive producers.

Tor Books: "The Living Dead" George A. Romero and Daniel Kraus

George A. Romero invented the modern zombie with Night of the Living Dead, creating a monster that has become a key part of pop culture. Romero often felt hemmed in by the constraints of film-making. To tell the story of the rise of the zombies and the fall of humanity the way it should be told, Romero turned to fiction. Unfortunately, when he died, the story was incomplete.

Enter Daniel Kraus, co-author, with Guillermo del Toro, of the New York Times bestseller The Shape of Water (based on the Academy Award-winning movie) and Trollhunters (which became an Emmy Award-winning series), and author of The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch (an Entertainment Weekly Top 10 Book of the Year). A lifelong Romero fan, Kraus was honored to be asked, by Romero's widow, to complete The Living Dead.

Set in the present day, The Living Dead is an entirely new tale, the story of the zombie plague as George A. Romero wanted to tell it.

It begins with one body.

A pair of medical examiners find themselves battling a dead man who won’t stay dead.

It spreads quickly.

In a Midwestern trailer park, a Black teenage girl and a Muslim immigrant battle newly-risen friends and family. On a US aircraft carrier, living sailors hide from dead ones while a fanatic makes a new religion out of death. At a cable news station, a surviving anchor keeps broadcasting while his undead colleagues try to devour him. In DC, an autistic federal employee charts the outbreak, preserving data for a future that may never come.

Everywhere, people are targeted by both the living and the dead.

We think we know how this story ends.

We. Are. Wrong.

George A. Romero’s classic zombie movie cycle begins with Night of the Living Dead. He also directed Creepshow and created the TV series Tales From the Darkside. Romero died in 2017 after a fifty-year career in film.

Daniel Kraus co-wrote the New York Times bestseller, The Shape of Water, with Guillermo del Toro. Kraus's novel The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch was an Entertainment Weekly Top Ten Book of the Year; Rotters was a finalist for the Bram Stoker Award.

Intrada: "THE COLLECTOR / DAVID & LISA" music by Maurice Jarre / Mark Lawrence

Intrada announces a double-header from the Mainstream and Ava record catalogs: Maurice Jarre's The Collector and Mark Lawrence's David & Lisa. Both films feature lead characters with psychological problems, one completely unchecked, the others in an institutition. The 1965 Columbia film The Collector features relative newcomers Terence Stamp and Samatha Eggar. Stamp plays the title character, which carries a double-meaning. He's a collector of butterflies, but he also collects a woman, abducting her off the street. The film shows how their relationship develops during her captivity. For this disturbiing film, Jarre composed a delicate, sometimes quirky score, and as described in the liner notes, sometimes "oddly nostalgic." While previously released on CD, this is the premiere release from the original LP masters without any alternations made to the original recording, resulting in crystal clear, dynamic sound.

The 1962 film David & Lisa features Janet Margolin and Keir Dullea in the title roles, one schizophreic, the other "morbidly" neurotic, and each attending a school/mental institution. Each is attracted to the other and their friendship helps them better manage their own afflictions. Together the whole is really stronger than the sum of its parts. And for David & Lisa, composer Mark Lawrence wrote a subtle, sparse score with just the right amount of emotion to portray the complexity of the personalities on screen. Half of the album presents the original score, while the other half presents outstanding jazz versions peformed by Victor Feldman and his All-Stars, which is a separate highlight of this presentation altogether. When originally released on CD, paired with Jerry Goldsmith's A Patch of Blue, only the mono master was used (even omitting one cue). This release presents the complete program in stereo for the first time on CD!

Sony Music: "BLOODSHOT" music by Steve Jablonsky

Sony Music today announces the release of BLOODSHOT (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SCORE) with music by film, television and gaming composer STEVE JABLONSKY (Transformers, Deepwater Horizon, Battleship). Available everywhere February 14, the album features score music written by Jablonsky for the forthcoming super hero film starring Vin Diesel, which makes its theatrical debut March 13 from Sony Pictures.

Of the score, composer STEVE JABLONSKY says, “When Dave Wilson approached me with BLOODSHOT I was immediately intrigued by the title character. He's a man who wakes up with super human abilities but doesn't remember who he is. There a lot of cool action scenes but the core of the film is Bloodshot trying to find his identity. I felt that was an interesting canvas to try some different things musically.”

Based on the bestselling comic book, Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation. With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he’s an unstoppable force –stronger than ever and able to heal instantly. But in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too. Now, Ray doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not – but he’s on a mission to find out.

Back Lot Music: "THE PHOTOGRAPH" music by Robert Glasper

Back Lot Music has released the original motion picture soundtrack to Universal Pictures’ THE PHOTOGRAPH today. The soundtrack to the film features an original score by multi-GRAMMY®winning recording artist Robert Glasper, as well as two new songs by recent GRAMMY®nominee Lucky Daye and GRAMMY®winning artist H.E.R. The romantic drama, starring Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield, arrives in theaters nationwide on Valentine’s Day.

The warm, rich and sophisticated jazz music that suffuses almost every frame of THE PHOTOGRAPH was exactly what writer-director Stella Meghie had envisioned to accompany the film’s visual aesthetic. She couldn’t think of any better choice to capture that vision than Grammy®Award-winner Robert Glasper. “I met Robert at one of his shows two years before we worked on this film and I told him that I wanted him to score the film,” Meghie says. “He completely exceeded my expectations in the way he pulled the music into the story in such an emotional way.”

Glasper had similar sentiments in working with Meghie: “It was an honor to be a part of this amazing film. Working with Stella was great. She allowed me to completely be who I am musically without compromising her vision. It was the ultimate win, win!”

The film’s producer Will Packer agreed that the way Glasper weaved the story together with the music was brilliant. “One of Robert’s gifts is his ability to evoke emotion,” Packer says. “He makes you feel something when you combine his music with picture. His rich, soulful music not only tells you how to feel, but it informs you how to view some of the decisions that the characters make. He just gets the way that mood, music and cinema all interweave together and the fact that each one is very important.”

Packer continues: “The film takes place in two different time periods, two different cities and with very different energies and vibes, so the music had to be our great connector. It had to be the thing that pulls it all together and to interweave the story, just like the narrative. The songs became part of the narrative and helped to augment it. With a movie like this, one where you want to really feel-something, music is essential.”

Set in the newly united town of Seabrook, "ZOMBIES 2" resumes the story as cheerleader Addison and zombie football player Zed are readying for Seabrook High's Prawn, the school's supersized prom. But when a group of mysterious teenage werewolves, led by Willa, Wyatt and Wynter, unexpectedly arrive in search of an ancient life source buried somewhere in Seabrook, a fearful city council reenacts Seabrook's anti-monster laws making it impossible for Zed and Addison to attend Prawn together. Determined to keep their plan to be the first zombie/cheerleader couple to go to the prom, Zed runs for school president against cheer captain, Bucky, in order to change the rules. While Zed launches into his campaign, Addison is drawn into the werewolves' circle sensing this might be where she finally fits in. Fearing he might lose Addison to the werewolf pack, Zed sabotages Addison's effort to find out if she really belongs amongst them. When his deception is revealed and Addison confronts the truth about her identity, zombies, cheerleaders and werewolves all discover the real meaning of community and acceptance.

Walt Disney Records: "TIMMY FAILURE: MISTAKES WERE MADE" music by Rolfe Kent

Walt Disney Records releases the Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made digital soundtrack, featuring score composed by Rolfe Kent, is now available here .

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Tom McCarthy, Disney+’s “Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made,” based on the best-selling book of the same name, follows the hilarious exploits of our quirky, deadpan hero, Timmy Failure, who, along with his 1,500-pound polar bear partner Total, operates Total Failure Inc., a Portland detective agency.  The adventure debuts today exclusively on Disney+. Watch trailer:  [CLICK HERE]

About Rolfe Kent: Born in England into a non-musical family, Rolfe Kent intuitively felt at age 12 that he wanted to be a film composer, although his early musical training was brief and not so formal. Citing Maurice Jarre’s “Lawrence of Arabia” and Ennio Morricone’s “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” as inspirations, Kent took the advice of an early music teacher to avoid rigid course work that would dampen his enthusiasm. He followed an entirely different path and, taking counterpoint to what is often cited as culture mired in cynicism, profited from his early course work in theology to relate it to music.

After enrolling in psychology studies at the University of Leeds in Yorkshire, Kent’s musical career was casually begun at a dance club when the director of a play offered him a chance to do the music. His jump start was his composition for a stage musical, “Gross,” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, a springboard for authors, composers and performers.

In the confines of his musically busy studio, one can immediately see why his musical personality is as distinct and his own. Constantly on the go, adventurous and curious, Kent has developed a style that is not only distinct but indicative of his aversion to the anticipated score in tone, texture and rhythm. The walls are lined with many familiar and many more unfamiliar instruments, gingerly handled and gleefully demonstrated for their sonic qualities.

Among his collection are the Indonesian percussion instrument the angklung; the shawm (first used in military maneuvers as a psychological weapon); the melodica, used for the light, soothing effect in Kent’s jazz-infused score for his Golden Globe®–nominated “Sideways”; and an instrument he discovered and cannot name that sounds like the world’s beaches at their most romantic high tide...combined.

Kent has the distinction of attracting and sustaining relationships with directors as popular and diverse as Alexander Payne, Mark Waters, Jason Reitman, Burr Steers and Richard Shepard.

Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "DOWNHILL" music by Volker Bertelmann

Fox Music and Hollywood Records release the original motion picture soundtrack to “Downhill,” directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.    Inspired by the acclaimed 2014 Swedish film “Force Majeure, a married couple is thrown into disarray after barely escaping an avalanche during a family ski vacation in the Alps, and they are forced to reevaluate their lives and how they feel about each other. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell star in this biting comedy.

The film features score by Academy Award®-nominated German composer, pianist, producer, and artist Hauschka, Volker Bertelmann (“Lion,” “Gunpowder,” “Patrick Melrose”).  The score is available digitally today as the film opens in U.S. theaters.

From the start of “Downhill,” there’s a sense of foreboding, even before the Stanton family come face to face with an avalanche. That feeling of uncertainty comes from a combination of camerawork, the sight of avalanche-blast cannons on the mountainside and the film’s doom-heralding score.

“We knew the presence of music would be important,” says co-director Jim Rash. “So with our composer, we literally wanted to create the presence of Austria, and that came through yodeling. Yodeling is inherently funny, but he suggested there are modern ways that people are using it differently.”

Here, the refrain of yodels provides a kind of siren call of danger ahead. “I thought it would be nice to have a local color in the film music without getting too cliché or too traditional,” says composer Volker Bertelmann, who has been skiing in the Alps since he was a young child. “I had the feeling that we could use traditional instruments, vocals and the tonality of the yodeling music, which has, by the way, a lot in common with blues.”

Bertelmann created an eerie effect by blending notes and looping yodeling-inspired vocals.
“Traditional yodeling is usually faster,” he says. “I took elements like (blending pitches) and the way the vocals are sung to create a connection to the Alps and a kind of unique interpretation.”

The score was recorded at East Connection Music Recording Company with the Budapest Art Orchestra.

Varese Sarabande: "The Stand: The Deluxe Edition" 2CD music by W.G. Snuffy Walden

Walden’s musical palette for The Stand contrasts acoustic guitar, violin, flute, and piano, written and performed in a roots/folk/spiritual manner.  The score is constructed around five distinctive character themes, plus a variety of ambient and aggressive motifs and musical designs, and a bit of roots-styled traveling music as well. The first disc of this album contains music in film order from the original single-disc soundtrack CD, released by Varèse Sarabande in 1994. The second disc contains then-previously unreleased bonus tracks compiled for the Stephen King Soundtrack Collection box set, released by Varèse in 2017, also mostly in show order.

According to Walden, the majority of the album consists of music taken from the original soundtrack recording, but a small percentage of them were newly revised for the 1994 album. “I recorded some pieces to make it work… to make it flow as its own piece." In a few cases, therefore, some of the album tracks are structured slightly differently from how they were heard in the film itself (“Sewing the Canvas,” “Mid Country: By the Stream,” and “Locked Up,” appear to be among them, from my comparisons). Varese Sarabande: "Dolores Claiborne: The Deluxe Edition" 2CD music by Danny Elman

One of the most important and impressive film scores of Danny Elfman's career, Dolores Claiborne is an often overlooked and grossly under-appreciated score from the maestro. Not only does it depart from Elfman’s characteristic style both aurally and compositionally, but it also displays Elfman’s maturity as a filmmaker and storyteller using music to define, paint, and coax a psychological narrative.

Adapted from the Stephen King novel of the same name and directed by Taylor Hackford, Dolores Claiborne is a psychological dramatic film in which most of the entire movie unfolds inside the characters’ minds. Most of what is said or done on screen is a giant red herring. What you see is not always what you get. As the narrative unfolds, various pieces of the puzzle are revealed one by one and Elfman’s score is right there to cajole each perfect piece into place. [https://www.varesesarabande.com/]

As the day of big heist comes, the heist initially goes without a hitch, but some of Reed's friends die as Sutcliffe double crosses them. Reed contacts Officer Park to get back at Sutcliffe. The cops and Reed raid Sutcliffe's hideout. There, Reed learns Nia's reason to refuse healing Reed's mother. Healing ability comes with a price. The Healer takes injury every time they heal someone and Nia could die if she tries to heal Reed's mother, given how ill Reed's mother is. Reed forces Nia to go through with it, but finally releases Nia after he sees how painful the process is for her. As a result, Reed's mother ultimately dies. Reed surrenders himself to the cops to atone for his crimes.

Silva Screen Records: "SUPERCAR" music by Barry Gray

Barry Gray’s original Television score for Gerry Anderson's Supermarionation show... To celebrate Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s legacy, Silva Screen Records is releasing a series of freshly remastered and compiled soundtrack albums from the iconic TV shows. The original soundtrack series started in 2019, on what would have been Gerry’s 90th Birthday. The first release was UFO, with Supercar being the follow up second release. All the albums in this series are being newly compiled, mastered and designed by the creative team at Fanderson - The Official Gerry And Sylvia Anderson Appreciation Society.

Following from Four Feather Falls, Supercar was the second Gerry Anderson show to use the Supermarionation technique. Based on the Czech style of marionette puppetry, Supermarionation was Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s development of the technique to include synchronisation of puppet’s lip movements with pre-recorded dialogue.

Between 1961 and 1962, thirty-nine episodes were produced. Due to lack of funding and speed of production, Barry Gray had to produce music fast; he composed a series of ‘themes’ for locations, situations and characters. The main star of the show, the Super car, was given the heroic theme, whilst the rest of the score is at times whimsical and charming to support the dialogue and at others menacing when underlining the drama. The orchestra was comprised of forty instrumentalists and was conducted by Barry himself.

Barry Gray was both a classically trained composer and a versatile musician and was amongst the first composers to use electronic instruments in music for television. One such instrument was the Ondes Martenot, used to produce otherworldly musical motifs and fragments and later to create electronic sound effects in his future score for Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. Other productions he later used this instrument for include Doppelganger and Doctor Who films Dr Who and the Daleks and Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 AD.

On this album, the 20 themes featured create a coherent listening experience. They guide the listener through the music map of the show. [http://www.silvascreenusa.com]

Silva Screen Records: "RE:SCORED - EPIC CLASSICAL"

Silva Screen Records' new re:scored series introduces fresh, thoughtful and contemporary film score reworkings of established genres. On Epic Classical, the first release in this series, Snorre Tidemand re-arranges classical favorites in “epic” film score mode.

The 10 classical compositions chosen for re:scoring are ingrained in popular culture and have appeared in many movies, from drama and animation to Sci-Fi and comedy. Always linked to an epic win or lose, strength or weakness, purgative or transformational moment in the story; the distinct phrases and harmonies have now become a shortcut for turmoil, end and new beginnings.

The album features award-winning singer Merethe Soltvedt. Her rich vocals can be heard on Interstellar, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, X-Men and Ready Player One. Merethe is also a performing and collaborative artist. Notably, Merethe sung with a full orchestra and choir at the Walt Disney Concert Hall as well as with Norwegian rock stars and international artists across Europe, in New York and LA.

Snorre Tidemand is a Norwegian composer (Bleeding Fingers/Extreme Music, Colossal Trailer Music and Orchestral Tools), who worked on London Music Works' critically acclaimed album, The Nativity (Cinematic Christmas Carols).

Arranged by Snorre Tidemand. Performed by London Music Works, featuring Merethe Soltvedt.

Intrada: "TIME BANDITS" Music by MIKE MORAN

In 1981, two veterans of the British comedy group Monty Python—writer-director Terry Gilliam and actor-writer Michael Palin—combined the incongruous elements of god, the devil, Napoleon, Robin Hood, King Agamemnon, the Minotaur, the sinking of the Titanic, two star-crossed lovers, a man-eating ogre, six thieving dwarves and the imagination of one eleven-year-old boy into the adventure classic Time Bandits. The score by composer Mike Moran has never been available before, despite numerous requests for decades. With heartfelt thanks to Handmade Films, this long-sought title is finally available on CD 39 years later! Good things come to those who wait. While the opening and closing of the score are electronic, all of the score in between features full orchestra, keeping pace with the frenetic, colorful antics and adventure on screen. Moran composed and orchestrated his score in 21 days, with Harry Rabinowitz conducting six sessions at Wembley’s CTS Studios, featuring a 70-piece orchestra. As an added bonus, the album also includes George Harrison's song, "Dream Away."

The film tells the story of Kevin, a young boy ignored by his materialistic parents, who finds his world turned upside down when his bedroom is invaded by a group of thieves who, having stolen a map of “time holes” from their employer, the Supreme Being, are using it to plunder treasure from a variety of historical locales—unaware that the Evil Genius is plotting to use their map to free himself from imprisonment in the Fortress of Ultimate Darkness.

MVD Entertainment Group: "MANON" [Blu-ray]

This masterful adaptation of Prévost's 1731 novel Manon Lescaut marks quite a departure for Henri-Georges Clouzot, the French director lauded for his acclaimed thrillers The Wages of Fear and Les Diaboliques. A classical tragic romance transposed to a World War II setting, Clouzot's film follows the travails of Manon (Cécile Aubry), a village girl accused of collaborating with the Nazis who is rescued from imminent execution by a former French Resistance fighter (Michel Auclair).

The couple move to Paris, but their relationship turns stormy as they struggle to survive, resorting to profiteering, prostitution and even murder. Eventually escaping to Palestine, the pair attempt a treacherous desert crossing in search of the happiness which seems to forever elude them... Clouzot's astute portrayal of doomed young lovers caught in the disarray of post-war France wowed the jury of the 1949 Venice Film Festival, where it won the Golden Lion award. Unjustly overshadowed ever since by the director's suspense films, Manon now returns to screens in glorious High Definition with a selection of elucidating extras. Year of Production: 1949

Varese Sarabande: "THE MATRIX" [LP] music by Don Davis

The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to the 1999 sci-fi hit The Matrix by composer Don Davis will be released for the first time as a picture disc LP on March 13, 2020, exclusively from Varèse Sarabande Records. Side A features an image of the Matrix’s green code, while Side B shows Neo (Keanu Reeves) in full action mode. The soundtrack album weds Davis' mastery of musical detail and coloration to a largely atonal postmodern concerto that's complex, dark and unrelenting. The vinyl is now available for pre-order on VareseSarabande.com.

After the success of the first film, The Matrix, directed by The Wachowski Brothers, went on to become a billion-dollar franchise, and Don Davis' epic scores propelled the story forward across the trilogy, in which Keanu Reeves plays Neo, a computer hacker who learns from mysterious rebels about the true nature of his reality and his role in the war against its controllers. With news that The Matrix will be returning for a fourth installment in 2021, new and original fans are revisiting the film that started it all.

ABOUT DON DAVIS: A native of Anaheim, California, Don Davis is a composer, conductor and orchestrator best known for his work on The Matrix franchise. He has created numerous television and film scores and is the recipient of two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on Beauty and The Beast and his rousing, brassy music for Steven Spielberg’s seaQuest DSV. Additionally, Davis contributed a subtle blend of elements for Life of the Party: The Pamela Harriman Story (with Ann-Margret); and his tense, terse harmonies added a creepy ambience to the critically lauded NBC miniseries House of Frankenstein (dir. Peter Werner). Davis has won four BMI Film Music Awards, one for each Matrix film as well as Jurassic Park III.

Intrada: "DRAGONHEART VENGEANCE" music by Mark McKenzie

To coincide with the release of Universal's latest installment in the Dragonheart series, Intrada presents the CD release of Mark McKenzie's adventurous, magical, and often serene score for Dragonheart Vengeance. Although the story is propelled into motion by a tragic event, the score remains uplifting and mystical, telling the story of friendship and hope. McKenzie also deftly incorporates Randy Edelman's original, majestic theme from the first film into this latest score, ensuring continuity across the musical landscape of the series. He performed the entire score and produced this 47-minute soundtrack, featuring an electronic color palette of pan flutes, penny whistles, drums and percussion of every kind, solo cello, voices, harp, nylon guitar, plenty of fresh electronic textures and a great variety of traditional symphonic colors.

In the film, Jack Kane plays Lukas, a young farmer whose family is killed by savage raiders in the countryside. This horrible incident sets Lukas off on a quest of revenge, teaming up with a majestic dragon and a swashbuckling, sword-fighting mercenary, Darius (Joseph Milson). The film is directed by Irvan Silvestrini and is available on Blu-ray and DVD from Amazon.com starting Feb 4th, 2020.

MVD Entertainment Group: "DEADLY MANOR" [Blu-ray]

An old, dark house... A maniac on the loose... An orgy of bloodlust! All the hallmarks of late master of Spanish macabre José Ramón Larraz (Edge of the Axe, Vampyres) are present and correct in 1990's Deadly Manor - the final horror movie from one of the genre's most unheralded filmmakers. Whilst en route to a lake, a group of youngsters make an unscheduled stop-off at a remote, seemingly abandoned mansion where they plan to spend the night. But the property is full of foreboding signs - a blood-stained car wreck in the garden, coffins in the basement, scalps in the closet, and photographs of a beautiful but mysterious woman adorning every corner of the house.

Before daybreak, the group will unwittingly uncover the strange and terrifying truth that lurks behind the walls of this dreadful place. The last in a trio of transcontinental slice-and-dice co-productions helmed by Larraz towards the end of the 80s (all of which which he directed under the anglicized moniker of Joseph Braunstein), Deadly Manor - released on VHS in the US under the title Savage Lust - is a fitting capper to the director's prolific career in fear, now finally unearthed for the first time on Blu-ray.
