The #1 most requested CD Club title is finally here! AIR FORCE ONE: The Deluxe Edition with music composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith. 46 tracks across 2 CDs.

In scores resounding with patriotic brass and militaristic action, Jerry Goldsmith memorably saluted America’s brothers in arms. His themes embodied generals in service to God and country (Patton, MacArthur), men fighting for survival in an America gone astray (First Blood, Capricorn One), an analyst pitted against enemies both foreign and domestic (The Sum of All Fears) and a peace-seeking president combating a coup (Seven Days in May). But no noble warrior that Goldsmith accompanied had faced the impossible odds of a commander-in-chief evading terrorists aboard 1997’s Air Force One. Demanding all of the excitement, emotion and suspense that Goldsmith could muster in a mostly confined setting, it was a film that put the composer in his own heroic race against time. Recorded in a span of only three weeks, (with additional music from Joel McNeely), Air Force One stands out as one of the signature highlights in Jerry Goldsmith’s unparalleled career.

In this action drama, Harrison Ford plays James Marshall, a onetime combat hero in the Vietnam War who is now President of the United States. Communist Radicals hijack Air Force One with Marshall and his family on board. The President must use his strength and intelligence to keep the terrorists at bay and devise a plan to allow his family to escape to safety, while on the ground the vice-president (Glenn Close), the secretary of defense (Dean Stockwell), and the attorney general (Philip Baker Hall) grapple over what to do and how much control to take in this crisis. Limited Edition of 4000 copies.

Back by popular demand! STAR TREK: The Deluxe Edition was originally released in 2010 as a greatly expanded 5000-copy special package limited edition version of Michael Giacchino’s score. Since the last copy was purchased almost a decade ago, there have been requests for a reprint. The packaging has been streamlined to a standard jewel case, but the track listing remains identical and includes the abundance of previously released cues.

On the day of James T. Kirk's birth, his father dies on his damaged starship in a last stand against a Romulan mining vessel looking for Ambassador Spock, who in this time, has grown on Vulcan disdained by his neighbors for his half-human heritage. 25 years later, James T. Kirk has grown into a young rebellious troublemaker. Challenged by Captain Christopher Pike to realize his potential in Starfleet, he comes to annoy academy instructors like Commander Spock. Suddenly, there is an emergency on Vulcan and the newly-commissioned USS Enterprise is crewed with promising cadets like Nyota Uhura, Hikaru Sulu, Pavel Chekov and even Kirk himself, thanks to Leonard McCoy's medical trickery. Together, this crew will have an adventure in the final frontier where the old legend is altered forever as a new version of the legend begins. Limited Edition of 1500 copies and sure to sell out.

The 1975 film Rooster Cogburn featured the return of John Wayne’s booze-swilling, eye-patch-sporting, rough-and-tumble U.S. Marshal that was first introduced in the 1969 western True Grit. The score was composed by the OSCAR®-nominated composer Laurence Rosenthal, who also scored the 1964 drama, Becket. Much of the ROOSTER COGBURN: The Deluxe Edition score was inspired by either Stephen Foster or Aaron Copland. Look no further than the main title to find a Copland-esque, proud cowboy lullaby that sings over open, orchestral plains or trotting guitar chords as the need arises. This is the first time any music from the film has ever been released.

Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) has once again been stripped of his badge after some questionable behavior with his gun, but he's given the chance to earn it back after an especially appalling crime demands an experienced lawman. A gang of violent and ruthless criminals, led by Hawk (Richard Jordan) and Breed (Anthony Zerbe), have stolen a shipment of explosive nitroglycerine and cut a swath through a village led by a preacher and his flock. The preacher died, along with many others, and his daughter, Eula Goodnight (Katharine Hepburn), is determined that the outlaws will be brought to justice. Cogburn is given the task of tracking down the criminals, but he's less than enthusiastic about the fact Goodnight insists on tagging along. Rooster Cogburn marked the first (and last) time John Wayne and Katharine Hepburn would work together on screen; it was also the final film from noted producer Hal Wallis. Limited Edition of 1500 copies.

Intrada: "KING RAT" [1965] music by John Barry

World premiere of John Barry soundtrack plus remastered original album on CD! George Segal, Tom Courtenay, James Fox, Denholm Elliott, Todd Armstrong, Patrick O’Neal, James Donald, John Mills play WWII POW’s in Japanese prisoner of war camp in 1945 Singapore. Changi jail requires few guards for the captured soldiers make little attempt at escape. Indeed, there is no safe place to escape. The men simply exist, starved, emaciated. American corporal “King” (Segal) is different. Well-fed, mannered, clean. King Rat is the powerful story of why. Bryan Forbes directs from James Clavell’s 1962 novel, based on his own experiences. Clavell also fashioned the scripts for the landmark POW film, The Great Escape (1963) and the WWII aerial combat picture, 633 Squadron (1964). Burnett Guffey handles the Academy Award-nominated b&w cinematography. Columbia Pictures releases in 1965. For original music, Forbes turns to his composer-of-choice, John Barry. In an incredibly fertile period for the composer that also saw Thunderball, The Ipcress File, The Knack, Four In The Morning and Mister Moses that same year, Barry scored a dramatic, arid and claustrophobic score for strings emphasizing the lower registers, plus cor anglais, flute, oboe, French horn, solitary trumpet, harp, piano, xylophone, tympani… and the striking color of cimbalom. Often Barry takes his opening theme and moves the idea through various highly exposed solo players, now oboe, now muted trumpet, now cor anglais, now cello.

Intrada: "HOWARD THE DUCK" (3CD) music by John Barry, Thomas Dolby and Sylvester Levay

Hugely expanded 3-CD release of action-packed John Barry score to early Marvel Superhero film! When John Barry scored 1986’s Howard The Duck, he recorded vibrant music replete with action-packed battles and heroics, hauntingly beautiful love themes and a plethora of James Bond-ish orchestral dazzle dazzle. Barry even recorded strikingly different versions of several cues to accommodate numerous editorial changes in the film during post-production. Over 100 minutes of original music in all. A monumental scoring achievement! By the time the finished film made it to theaters in 1986, nearly 20 minutes of the scoring for later scenes had been deleted in favor of additional music scored by Sylvester Levay. Enhancing the overall musical approach to Universal’s fantasy vehicle still further were several songs arranged and produced by Thomas Dolby, essential to the antics as they were performed on screen by the all-female rock group Cherry Bomb, the lead singer of which is also the film’s star, Lea Thompson, hot off of her flashy turn in Back To The Future.

Designed by artist Ron Good (of the horror series, God-Awful Comics), the album art tells the story of a misunderstood iguana named Don, who struggles to find his own hot rock to rest on. Joe says there are parallels of the animal’s life and his career, as it’s a struggle to find support for creating original, instrumental music!

WaterTower Music: "THE GOLDFINCH" music by Trevor Gureckis

WaterTower Music is excited to announce today’s digital release of the original motion picture soundtrack to The Goldfinch. The Warner Bros. Pictures and Amazon Studios film, from director John Crowley (Brooklyn) is slated for a U.S. theatrical release on September 13th and features an original score by composer Trevor Gureckis (Bloodline, Vice) that is a musical tapestry of modern electronics blended with contemporary orchestra.

Director John Crowley enlisted Gureckis to score the film, and the two creatives worked closely together in the process. “With the score, I think we’re lucky to witness the arrival of a major new musical voice in Trevor Gureckis. As an audition piece, he wrote 12 minutes of music for the film, fully mindful that he might not get the job. But he won it... and then some,” remarks Crowley.

Trevor’s goal was to create music that enhanced the already amazing storyline and work on screen. “Writing The Goldfinch was thrilling not only because of the huge orchestral forces at hand, but also for the opportunity to explore rich textural details with the use of electronics in service of the story. There are moments of vivid impressionism in the orchestra, as well as tapestries of glowing and burning synth textures. A real turning point in figuring out this score, was when John Crowley realized we needed The Goldfinch to appear in the music itself, not just visually in the film. It would be our North Star. So, the opening cue sets the theme that returns in many different transformations depicting anything for the painting to Theo’s traumatized state of mind, as the two are so intertwined. Just like the painting of the bird chained to its post, this theme is suspended harmonically throughout the entire score resolving only in the final moments of the film,” says Gureckis.

Kronos Records is proud to present the soundtrack to the 1978 Lordan Zafranovic WWII film  OKUPACIJA U 26 SLIKA (Occupation In 26 Pictures).

Three young men - a Croat, an Italian, and a Jew - are the best friends in pre-WW2 Dubrovnik. When their country is occupied by Nazis and their cronies, the idyllic city becomes a place of terror and gruesome massacres. The friends must now take different sides in a global conflict.

The music for the film was penned by none less than award winning composer ALFI KABILJO, with whom we already had already the privilege to work on BAHNOVIC STRAHINJA (THE FALCON) and NIKOLA TESLA.   Kabiljo penned an incredibly eclectic score, ranging from the highly dramatic touching moments to surreal pieces evoking some of the bizarre scenes of the film. Kronos Records: "RORY'S WAY" Music by FRANK ILFMAN

KRONOS RECORDS is once again very happy and thrilled to work with our friend Frank Ilfman (Big Bad Wolves) to release the emotionally-charged music for RORY'S WAY, based on Jose Luis Sampedro’s novel The Etruscan Smile and starring acclaimed British actor Brian Cox  in the lead role. RORY'S WAY is a gorgeous  Celtic-flavored orchestral score that will steal your heart and take you on board Rory's journey of transformation and healing.

Frank Ilfman originally studied trombone and piano at the Jaffa Conservatorium of Music, then at the age of thirteen he was joined the Tel Aviv Dixieland Band where he played lead trombone in addition to arranging for them. His passion for film music was ignited when a visit to Bavaria Studios got him introduced to German composer Klaus Doldinger, who was scoring The Neverending Story at that time. Since starting out, Frank had scored over sixty films and television projects. His breakthrough was written for Big Bad Wolves whose music won a Saturn Award shortly after being issued by MovieScore Media. Some of Ilfman’s other recent credits include the monster movie Abulele, the supernatural thriller Sensoria (also available from ScreamWorks Records) and the new logo of Legendary Pictures.

“Rory’s Way is a very emotional and heartfelt story with a strong Celtic identity,” explains Frank Ilfman about his contributions to the picture. “The music is very melodic in its core, using a large orchestra comprise of strings, winds, percussion and some Celtic instruments to represent Rory’s heritage. I composed three themes that represent Rory’s character, his son and Rory’s relationship with his grandson always keeping central the strong emotions between the three generations.” []

The album is produced by our old friend Mikael Carlsson of MovieScore Media who has also released the digital edition of this soundtrack.

Kronos Records: "RWANDA" music by DAVIDE CAPRELLI

KRONOS RECORDS once again is proud to work with young new talent, this time is the turn of Italian Davide Caprelli.  We present you with his score for RWANDA, an Italian 2018 film centering on the Rwandan genocide.  The film which has been winning award after award at various film festivals is the drama of a man, a woman and their families.  He is Hutu, she is Tutsi. He must kill. She must die. A fate similar to many others in that bloody spring.

Davide Caprelli's score is often subtle, creeping deep down under your skin, growing and surfacing to very high dramatic moments when it is called for in a very melodic and melancholic Italian fashion and never trying to hijack the picture.  The CD is limited to 500 copies and a real contemporary gem we are proud to release and a composer to champion. Olive Signature: "A BUCKET OF BLOOD" [1959] (Blu-ray)

With A Bucket of Blood, the multi-talented Roger Corman single-handedly created his own genre hyphenate: the black-comedy-beatnik-culture-horror film. Dick Miller (Gremlins, The Trip) stars as Walter, a busboy at the hep-cat hangout the Yellow Door Café who dreams of artistic greatness. Inspired by the scribes and artists who surround him, Walter is introduced to the world of sculpture quite literally by accident – thanks to thin walls and a sharp steak knife. From his very first sculpture – the aptly titled “Dead Cat” – Walter is hailed a genius by the art snob set, a wunderkind who, unbeknownst to his doting devotees, has raised murder to the level of high art. But when the tortured artist turns his creativity towards the human form, he’s sure to make their blood run cold.

Rounding out the cast are Barboura Morris (The Trip, The Haunted Palace) as Carla, the woman of Walter’s dreams; Bert Convy (Semi-Tough) as undercover cop Lou Raby; Antony Carbone (Pit and the Pendulum) as Leonard, owner of the Yellow Door; and Julian Burton (The Masque of the Red Death) as Maxwell, the Yellow Door’s resident poet-philosopher.

A Bucket of Blood is written by Charles B. Griffith (Death Race 2000), photographed by Jacques R. Marquette (Burnt Offerings), edited by Anthony Carras (The Comedy of Terrors), with music by Fred Katz (The Little Shop of Horrors), and art direction by Dan Haller (Pit and the Pendulum). []

Decca Records: "DOWNTON ABBEY" music by John Lunn

Decca Records/Decca Gold has announced the upcoming release of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to the highly-anticipated feature film, Downton Abbey, scored by composer John Lunn. Composed in a similar style to the two-time Emmy Award-winning music from the series, the score is richly orchestrated, with the familiar title theme making an appearance throughout. In a throwback to the ‘Roaring Twenties’, upbeat jazz arrangements appear alongside lavish waltzes, reflecting the popular styles of the day.

The original television series first aired on PBS Masterpiece in the US in 2011 and has enjoyed six critically-acclaimed seasons, gaining legions of fans worldwide and a plethora of awards for cast and creatives. Downton Abbey is scheduled for cinematic release on September 13th in the UK, and September 20th in the United States. The film picks up where the story left off in the autumn of 1927, joining Lord and Lady Grantham and the extended Crawley family as they prepare for a visit from the reigning King George V. With a script by Julian Fellowes, original cast members including Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern and Dame Maggie Smith star alongside new cast members Imelda Staunton, David Haig and Geraldine James.

Scottish composer John Lunn writes music that possesses a unique voice and spans a wide spectrum of musical styles. He received two Primetime Emmy Awards for his music for Downton Abbey, and two BAFTA nominations in 2012 and 2016. Other recent television work includes The White Queen (Starz), Grantchester (ITV), Shetland (BBC One), The Last Kingdom (BBC Two) and Jamestown (Sky). Lunn received critical acclaim for his scores for three BBC Charles Dickens adaptations: The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Little Dorrit, and Bleak House.

Lunn was the first choice to score the film and recalls when the project was first proposed: “I was delighted to be approached to create the feature-length film score to a series which has had a huge impact on audiences and fans all over the world. At first it was like discovering a long-lost friend, but gradually I realized that we’d never really been apart; by the end it was just such a joy to revisit this material and have the opportunity to take it to a whole new level.”

This year, the iconic British label Decca celebrates its 90th anniversary, having been formed in 1929 – just two years after the film is set, giving this special collaboration even more significance. The soundtrack will be available digitally and on CD and vinyl.

The tracks are an “other-worldly” blend of various world musical styles, textures and rhythms. The lyrics are in multiple alien languages from throughout the galaxy, including Jawa and Huttese. Kicking off the top of DJ R-3X’s playlist is “Mad About Mad About Me,” a reimagined version of the original John Williams’ “Cantina Band” recording from “Star Wars: A New Hope.”

Executive album producer Matt Walker told in a recent interview, “We wanted this Cantina to fit within the story of the land, and I gave music producer Yaron Spiwak that challenge to figure out ‘What are the intergalactic hits that our droid DJ would collect and play for this motley group of questionable clientele in this far end of the galaxy?’ Create this playlist. Go.”

Music producer and imagineer Yaron Spiwak said, “R-3X’s playlist was created to draw listeners into life on the planet of Batuu, giving them a better sense of its people, their music tastes and its pop culture – past and present. Each song on the playlist tells a story, from a Gungan celebration song and an Huttese rap to an exciting mix of styles and languages from all over the galaxy. This set includes the classic hits that play regularly on R-3X’s rotation in Oga’s Cantina and on radio stations heard throughout Black Spire Outpost.”

The album is produced by Yaron Spiwak, senior music producer for Walt Disney Imagineering and executive produced by, Matt Walker, Executive in Charge of Music for Walt Disney Imagineering’s Global Music Studio.

Former Bond star George Lazenby (On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Man from Hong Kong) headlines this classic giallo directed by Aldo Lado (Short Night of Glass Dolls, Night Train Murders) ¬-as compelling for its haunting atmosphere, twists and turns as for its parallels with another great Venetian horror/thriller - Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now. Sculptor Franco Serpieri (Lazenby) welcomes Roberta (Nicoletta Elmi, Deep Red) - his young daughter from a failed marriage - to Venice, unaware that a disturbed child-killer is stalking the city's canals. When Roberta's body is found floating face-down in the river, the lives of Franco and his estranged wife Elizabeth (Anita Strindberg, The Case of the Scorpion's Tail) are ripped asunder. Co-starring Dominique Boschero (The Iguana with the Tongue of Fire) and Adolfo Celi (Thunderball), and featuring one of the all-time greatest scores from maestro Ennio Morricone (What Have You Done to Solange?), Who Saw Her Die? thrills anew in its high definition debut.  Released 1972

MovieScore Media: "FREAKS" music by Tim Wynn

Award-winning composer Tim Wynn (CW's Supernatural, XCOM, Mech-X4) scores the genre-bending psychological sci-fi thriller FREAKS(Well Go USA Entertainment) starring Emile Hirsch (Into The Wild), Bruce Dern (Once Upon A Time In Hollywood) and introducing Lexy Kolker. Written and directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, whom Wynn previously collaborated with on the Disney XD series Mech-X4, FREAKS first received acclaim following screenings at the Venice and Toronto international film festivals, and is among USA Today's must-see movies this fall. Wynn's score will be released on all major digital platforms through the label MovieScore Media alongside the film's theatrical release on Friday, 13th September. Music samples available [HERE].

FREAKS portrays the story of 7-year-old Chloe (Lexy Kolker), who lives in both fear under her father's (Emile Hirsch) protective and paranoid control, and fascination of the outside world, where Abnormals create a constant threat - or so she believes. When a mysterious stranger (Bruce Dern) offers her a glimpse of what's really happening outside, Chloe soon finds that while the truth isn't so simple, the danger is very real.

Wynn's score offers a dark and mysterious perspective for the film, as it builds to blend string quartet and full string ensembles with a variety of synthetic colors and custom sounds. "The most important piece in the score is Chloe's theme,"describes Wynn. "It's only a 5-note theme but it had to be used in so many different ways. You really get inside her head, the joy of being outside for the first time, kids riding on bicycles, seeing a tree for the first time, taking a ride in an ice cream truck, going to a playground for the first time, and what that feels like...I wanted to evoke that childlike awe and love of life but at the same time I had to add a little unassuredness because there is still that dark element. So I was looking for a musical thread that we could use throughout the film as she's learning about the world and taking charge over her own destiny."

"Tim did an amazing job creating themes that really told the story through Chloe's childlike perspective," said directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. "The music had to represent everything that she was feeling. There are a lot of times in the film where she's full of hope and wonder but you're really worried about what's going on, so the music had to both have this twinkly beautiful what is happening moment and at the same time this underlying creepiness and feeling of suspense."

About Tim Wynn has made his mark as a versatile and inventive composer in Hollywood with a diverse portfolio that spans feature films, television series, documentaries and video games, including FREAKS, THE EXPERIENCE, SUPERNATURAL (CW), XCOM 2 (2K Games), MECH-X4 (Disney XD), TOTAL WAR (Creative Assembly). Wynn began his music training as a founding member of the prestigious Orange County High School of the Performing Arts and was then accepted into the USC School of Music, where he studied under Elmer Bernstein, Christopher Young, Buddy Baker and Jerry Goldsmith.
