Howlin' Wolf Records News: Ulli Lommel is in negotiations for shooting THE BOOGEYMAN TV-SERIES!

http://howlinwolfrecords.com/corner_boogeyman.html
 ------------------------------------------------------------------
Ulli Lommel is in negotiations for shooting THE BOOGEYMAN TV-SERIES starting to film in Los Angeles and Alberta, Canada in July 2015 with an initial 26 one-hour episodes. Budget for the series is an estimated $4 million per episode. Lommel owns the BOOGEYMAN FRANCHISE since 1980, when he wrote, produced and directed a cult sensation grossing over $35 million world-wide on a budget of only $300,000. In 2005, Sam Raimi executive produced the remake which became a No. 1 Box-Office hit with over $150 million in revenues.

As to the story of the TV-Series, Lommel goes back to the year 1861, when the spirit of THE BOOGEYMAN was born, after a lynch mob killed an innocent native American from the Apache tribe. The bible for the TV-Series was written by Colin McCracken, Ulli Lommel and David Bond. Frank Dragun, Omar Kaczmarczyk and David Bond are slated as producers with Peter Davis (HIGHLANDER) as Executive Producer.

Howlin' Wolf Records, who recently released the restored soundtrack of the 1980 cult classic,  has been retained to oversee the production of the music for the BOOGEYMAN TV-SERIES. A Multi-media blitz including merchandising of THE BOOGEYMAN creature, a video game and a graphic novel will accompany the series. --READ/SHARE/COMMENT!

Perseverance Records: Ethel [2014] - Miriam Cutler

Ethel is a feature length documentary about the remarkable life of Ethel Kennedy, told by those who know Ethel best: her family. Directed by her Emmy-Award winning daughter, Rory Kennedy, the film features candid interviews with Ethel and seven of her children. The film is a personal portrait of Ethel’s political awakening, the life she shared with Robert F. Kennedy, and the years following his death when she raised their eleven children on her own. Intimate, funny, and deeply moving, Ethel offers a rare look inside a political dynasty strengthened by family bonds, a compassion for others, and a wisdom forged from both hardship and triumph.

Besides playing with the early incarnation of Oingo Boingo, Miriam has written music for a broad variety of subjects - from the aborted Terry Gilliam film, Don Quixote (Lost In La Mancha) to eating disorders (Thin) and the unorthodox relationship between Christopher Isherwood and Don Bacardi (Chris & Don: A Love Story), each a film where the music was as integral as the real life story we see on the screen. Miriam Cutler is an important film composer we feel needs to be heard. Once you hear the music from Ethel, you will see why we are so happy to be working with a talent such as Miriam.

Perseverance Records | http://www.perseverancerecords.com

It's a story about being part of Camelot, without the keys to get in all the rooms. Score is a great sound with a perkiness that takes you from track to track, sharing the similar underlying theme. As we follow Miriam Cutler musical vision telling her story within Ethel's life, it's charming and brings a nice atmospheric flow.

MovieScore Media: The Lost Empire [2014] - John Altman

MovieScore Media expands its acclaimed Discovery Collection with its fourteenth entry: the world premiere recording of The Lost Empire by John Altman, written for the 2001 Hallmark mini-series. The colorful adventure score may have been written for a television mini-series, but its rich sound, symphonic palette and great application of exotic instruments such as the erhu or Chinese flutes makes it more akin to a full-fledged feature film score. Fans of the genre will be delighted to hear echos of such composers as Maurice Jarre and Ron Goodwin in the adventurous score. From the first threat of "The Tiger" through wacky hijinks of "The Mini-Monkeys" to the Star Wars-inspired "Through the Indestructible Gates", each fantastic episode of The Lost Empire features a suitably bombastic accompaniment. These epic highlights are balanced by haunting lyrical moments that lend the story its heart ("The Devastated Village", “Goodbye to Goddess”). The soundtrack features 75 minutes of music from the two hours’ of score.

Composer John Altman has an incredibly versatile career in the British film and television scenes. Some may know him as the conductor of the 007 adventure GoldenEye ((where he wrote the score’s musical highlight, the tank chase), while others may know him as the historical music advisor/producer/arranger of the period music on James Cameron’s Titanic or the arranger of the musical numbers for Mark Herman’s Little Voice and Peter Chelsom's Shall We Dance. Despite his 100+ credits, Altman is woefully underrepresented on CD and we can only address this problem with one title at a time…

The Lost Empire (also known as The Monkey King) is based on the popular Chinese legend A Journey to the West. The 2001 television mini-series by director Peter MacDonald offers an exotic blend of Oriental mysticism with an Indiana Jones-like archeological adventures. The main hero is Sinologist researcher Nick Orton (Thomas Gibson) who is recruited by a Chinese goddess to save the world from the Demon Master Shu and the Five Traditional Masters. Aided by the Monkey King, the humanoid Pigsy and Friar Sand, the small but determined group of misfits must battle dragons, demons and the heavenly legal system in order to save Earth from being thrown to the Dark Ages.

Sneaking one or two more great scores from "MovieScore Media" comes a treat from composer John Altman, something I just find epic. I throw that word "EPIC" around too much I think.. though that is how I would share my thoughts on this score. It starts out strong holding you to what to hear the next track and so on... it's along the line of any blockbuster film.

Milan Records: SON OF A GUN - Jed Kurzel

When JR (Brenton Thwaites) is sent to prison for a minor crime, he becomes the apprentice to Brendan Lynch (Ewan McGregor), Australia's public enemy number one. However, when JR helps Brendan break out, they go on the run and form a complex co-dependent relationship that will be more dangerous than the heists they plan and the enemies tracking them down.

Jed Kurzel is best known as the front man and song writer for the award winning cinematic rock duo The Mess Hall, one of the Australia’s most original and dynamic beat combinations. Their 2006 album, Devil’s Elbow was awarded the prestigious 2007 Australian Music Prize. Having released four albums over the course of their career of constantly shifting styles, their most recent album For The Birds is a collection of songs that take a sharp turn into a musical terrain that combines voodoo, beatnik soul, funk and rock and roll.

Twisted in a good way! I have not seen the film, so not sure how it's placed amongst the action in the film... it has a great overall theme. A theme that bends to almost a silence until it grabs you when you least expect it, grabs you and throws you down.

MovieScore Media: 1864 [2014] - Marco Beltrami

Oscar nominated composer Marco Beltrami’s score for the epic television series 1864 is being released on CD and digitally by prolific quality soundtrack label MovieScore Media. The year marked a dramatic turning point in the history of Denmark with the battle of Dybbøl; 150 years later the national tragedy is commemorated by an epic eight-hour long mini-series created by top Danish filmmaker Ole Bornedal. The most expensive Scandinavian production to date features extensive battle recreations (filmed in the Czech Republic) and a touching story about two brothers cast in the bloodiest battle of the country’s history. The Scandinavian  co-production receives its majestic musical support from frequent Bornedal collaborator Marco Beltrami, one of the busiest and most creative composers working in Hollywood today.

Following his groundbreaking score for Scream, Beltrami became the most reliable genre composer following the adventures of alien invaders (The Faculty), vampires (Blade II), ghosts (The Woman in Black) and zombies (World War Z). He is frequently trusted with scoring the most valuable Hollywood properties: he worked on the remakes of The Omen, The Thing and Carrie, but he also took over from Michael Kamen on the last two Die Hard movies. Beltrami’s regular filmmaking partners include Wes Craven (Scream 1-4, Dracula 2000), Guillermo del Toro (Mimic, Hellboy), James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine) and Tommy Lee Jones (The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, The Homesman).

"I feel a dark kindred spirit with Ole and his pictures inspire me deeply" explains the composer about his working relationship with the director (previous credits together include Deep Water, I Am Dina and Vikaren). The selection on this CD includes the best hour’s worth of material from over 220 minutes of music developed for the project. The program includes great moments of patriotism ('Off to Service', 'We Are Danes'), fierce cues for the battle ('The Hussars Are Coming'), mournful compositions for reflection on the senseless violence ('Tears') and of course peaceful, pastoral moments ('Lakeside') that show Denmark as the land of plentiful natural treasures we all wish to remember. The score features the performance of the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

MovieScore Media | http://moviescoremedia.com/

Awesome score, I didn't know about this release until it hit my mailbox... I am a huge fan of Marco Beltrami's work. He never stops amazing me by his talent, here it's no different, as he steps back a century sharing the sounds of a battle we may never have known about.

Lakeshore Records: AFTER THE FALL - Marc Streitenfeld

Lakeshore Records will release the AFTER THE FALL – Original Motion Picture Score digitally on December 23rd and on CD March 10, 2015. The album features the film’s original score by Marc Streitenfeld (THE GREY, KILLING THEM SOFTLY, PROMETHEUS).

“The process on this project was very unique. I would write a lot of the pieces freely, not to picture, but with just a character or an emotion in mind,” said Streitenfeld. “Since the director, Saar Klein is also a very accomplished editor, he often cut the picture to my compositions. While some of the composition influenced the edit other pieces were written to the cut. This way we archived an unusual symbiotic and natural exchange between picture and music.”

AFTER THE FALL is a film about desperate times calling for dangerous measures. When everyday family man Bill (Wes Bentley) loses his job, his peaceful life quickly spirals out of control. Terrified that he will lose everything he has achieved, he turns to a life of crime, descending into drastic and dangerous measures to stay ahead of the law. As he fights to provide for his family, Bill discovers that the only thing worse than getting caught is getting away with it.

Entertainment One Films (eOne Films) presents AFTER THE FALL currently in theaters. The AFTER THE FALL - Original Motion Picture Score will be available digitally on December 23rd and on CD March 10, 2015.

Wild Eye Releasing's Horror Anthology "Hi-8: Horror Independent 8"... Right Now!

Wild Eye Releasing has announced the December 16th DVD release of Hi-8: Horror Independent 8.  The eight-part anthology brings together some of the most recognizable names in home video horror of the past 30 years, capturing the creative essence of low budget, shot-on-video film-making.

Called "The Expendables of shot on video horror" by Horror Hound Magazine, the directors for Hi-8 are Tim Ritter (Killing Spree), Brad Sykes (Camp Blood), Marcus Koch (100 Tears), Ron Bonk (The Vicious Sweet), Donald Farmer (Demon Queen), Todd Sheets (Zombie Bloodbath), Chris Seaver (Mulva), and Tony Masiello (SOV: The True Independents), who have returned to 80s and 90s style, gore-laced storytelling. All eight segments feature only practical effects and all directors were forbidden to use any post-Internet technology, including HD cameras, green screen, CGI or found footage.   Like the V/H/S series, Hi-8 brings together independent genre filmmakers to spin tales of terror on tape.

It's a showing of what it used to be like when cameras were just cameras and phones just dialed... I say dial "M" for Marvelous, Messy and Mayhem... it's worth watching if you enjoy this style.

With high-profile roles in Clueless, 8 Mile and Girl, Interrupted, Brittany achieved her Hollywood dream, but her desperation for approval and insecurity about her looks made her personal life a disaster. Though the men in Brittany’s life would come and go, her mother remained her grounding force. But that enduring maternal love wasn’t enough to save Brittany from the dangers of Hollywood. Four years later, as news reports swirl around the mystery of Brittany’s untimely death amid her father’s claims that she was poisoned; Sharon and Brittany are thrust into the limelight once more.

My first thoughts were great thoughts, it's a bit of music that made me move and sway. I am not a huge fan of piano first of, but here the artist Tigran Hamasyan moves beyond normal jazz-piano-scape adding a higher level of sound. I will be listening to this well into the 2015 and beyond, don't just take my word... go above and listen for yourself.

Interview with Composer... Boris Salchow

Great pleasure and I think the last interview for the year 2014 with Composer... Boris Salchow, please welcome him to the Wolf!
Jeremy [Howlin' Wolf]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Howlin' Wolf: Tell us how you got involved with "Sunset Overdrive" and how do you go about preparing music for this style of game?

Boris Salchow: Sunset Overdrive has been developed by Insomniac Games whom I have worked with on a number of games already - two of the Resistance titles, a Ratchet & Clank and last year's Fuse.

Writing the cinematic score for this one was probably the most diverse project I have ever worked on – spanning from punk-influenced scoring through medieval bard songs to 1940s Hollywood spoofs. That is why there was a lot more preparation and research involved than in other projects.

Howlin' Wolf: Do you prefer Film/Television or Game music, which gives you more creative control?

Boris Salchow: That really depends on each project's story and the vision of the director rather than the medium. I have had a lot of fun with games as well as TV or films.

Howlin' Wolf: Orchestra vs. Digital? Do you think that computer generated music is hurting the industries, since more companies are turning to it? As a composer can you tell the difference between the two, what are some of the signs you listen for?

Boris Salchow: Orchestral music is great – and I personally am a big fan of digital music in the sense of music that uses synthesized or electronically altered sounds.

The only thing I have measured amount of excitement for is faking real instruments. Like sampled orchestras etc. It works and it has gotten much better – but it will always be like  juice made from concentrate compared to a freshly squeezed one.

Howlin' Wolf: What is next on your schedule?

Boris Salchow: I am just finishing up an international ad campaign for the Smart car and I am working on a game as well as a very interesting music software project. So stay tuned!

Boris Salchow:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Information: Boris Salchow has created cinematic music scores and unique soundscapes for some of the most prestigious brands in the world (ADIDAS, AUDI, LAMBORGHINI), award-winning documentaries (Germany From Above), Hollywood and international feature films (80 Minutes, Prom Night), drama television series (BALKO, Wolff’s Turf), and cinematic video games (FUSE, Resistance 2 and 3, Ratchet & Clank, Rainbow Six). ?Classically trained but just at home in the electronic music world, Salchow’s artistic range and versatility encompasses live orchestra, hybrid acoustic and electronic music, and immersive musical sound design.

Salchow began his scoring career writing commercials, promos and prime time television series for leading networks in Germany. Now based in Los Angeles, Salchow has composed for feature films such as the internationally-released action thriller 80 Minutes starring Gabriel Mann, additional music for Elsewhere starring Anna Kendrick, and additional music for the Sony/Screen Gems’ teenage horror mystery and #1 US box office hit Prom Night featuring Idris Elba.

Salchow also scored the feature film adaptation of the award-winning documentary series Germany From Above (Buena Vista International) recorded with a 70-piece orchestra and mixed at Babelsberg Studios in Berlin. This visually stunning film is comprised of breathtaking aerial shots of Germany. With only a few words from the narrator, the movie provided a unique opportunity to take the audience on an inspiring musical journey befitting the film’s grand scale. Germany From Above premiered with a special event at Germany’s largest movie theater, where Salchow’s 90-minute score was performed live along with the film.

Salchow recently swapped his baton and orchestra for Moog synthesizers and rare vintage audio processors to score Electronic Arts’ sci-fi video game FUSE. The score blends analog electronic elements, adrenaline infused drums and musical sound design to provide a foreboding and rousing sonic landscape for FUSE’s dark futuristic setting and intense action experience. Salchow’s previous scores for video games include Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, Sony’s Resistance 2, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, and Resistance 3. Recorded with A-list musicians at Abbey Road Studios in London, Salchow’s dark, emotional orchestral music for Resistance 3 was hailed as one of the top video game scores of 2011 by Classical MPR.

Returning for more scoring duties, composer Imran Ahmad evokes the thematic and signature sounds from the original film, whilst adding a fresh layer of dark, foreboding themes and textures to create an ethnic, evocative score that sizzles with danger licks and haunting motifs. Howlin' Wolf Records: COLLAPSE - Vincent Gillioz

Howlin' Wolf Records proudly presents COLLAPSE by award-winning composer Vincent Gillioz (LAST BREATH). COLLAPSE finds Chris Mulkey (CAPTAIN PHILLIPS, TWIN PEAKS) as everyman Robert Morgan in a modern fable of psychological horror, pushed to the edge in order to protect himself and his family from a zombie apocalypse. Composer Vincent Gillioz creates a suspenseful, emotion-laden score in his signature style of chamber-like instrumental colours layered and juxtaposed with touches of lyricism. The music charts an organic course which runs parallel to Chris Mulkey's unravelling universe, devolving from melody and consonant chords into friction and dissonance, a stark yet provocative study of contrasts to create a unique sonic atmosphere that fans of this genre will not want to miss!

SPARKS & SHADOWS ANNOUNCES A SPECIAL HOLIDAY GIFT – PRE-ORDER THE EVERLY ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK AND DOWNLOAD THE 5 HOLIDAY-THEMED TRACKS NOW!

Sparks & Shadows announces the release date for the EVERLY – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on January 20, 2015. As a special holiday bonus, fans that pre-order the soundtrack on iTunes now will receive the five holiday-themed tracks right away!

Composer Bear McCreary (KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM, TV’s THE WALKING DEAD) and the film’s director Joe Lynch have teamed together with vocalist Raya Yarbrough to release a special gift, a video of “Silent Night”, directed by Lynch, arranged by Bear McCreary.

“I first conceived of the story for EVERLY, as my ode to Asian cinema, holiday movies like DIE HARD, and entrails,” said Lynch. “Bear McCreary is one of the most eclectic composers working today and there was no-one else I wanted to tell this story with me musically, so much so I named the head Yakuza Boss ‘Taiko’ as an homage to one of Bear’s signature sounds.”

“Everly is a film in which Salma Hayek must stay alive in an apartment while confronting wave after wave of increasingly volatile and vicious Yakuza gangsters. It is pretty much as awesome as it sounds,” described BadassDigest. MovieFone described it as “a symphony of exploding heads and bullets.”

To score this ‘symphony,’ Lynch turned to frequent collaborator Bear McCreary. Lynch said, “Bear and Team McCreary (including his lovely muse Raya and badass brother Brendan, who worked on the holiday tracks) were the sonic glue that holds the madness together, and I don’t know what the film would be like without his work on it.”

Radius-TWC presents EVERLY, available on iTunes and On Demand January 23, 2015 and in theaters February 27, 2015. MovieScore Media: Electricity [2014] - John Lunn

Downton Abbey composer John Lunn showcases a new musical side with his electrifying ambient score for Electricity, the latest film by director Bryn Higgins based on a novel by Ray Robinson. MovieScore Media releases the album in digital scores coinciding with the film’s UK premiere on December 12, 2014, distributed by Soda Pictures.

The film follows the life of Lily O’Connor (Agyness Deyn), a young girl who lives her regular life as the cashier of a seaside amusement park. When her mother passes away, Lily vows to track down her missing younger brother, but her investigation is complicated by the girl’s medical condition. Every so often, Lily is prone to epileptic fits that lead to dazzling visuals, mesmerizing sights, harrowing visuals and the occasional complete darkness…

In the last four years, the music of composer John Lunn have been playing an integral part in the success of Downton Abbey, one of the latest credits in the filmography of Britain’s most reliable television composer. With a career spanning 25 years, Lunn contributed his talents to such shows as the darkly humourous Hotel Babylon (2006-2009), Little Dorrit (2008) based on the novel of Charles Dickens or more recently, The White Queen (2013) which chronicles the life of three Queens pining for the throne in 15th century England. Lunn also took part on the New Water Music project, where eleven of Britain’s most renowned film composers created a new orchestral work based on Händel’s Water Music to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II.

"The music for Electricity has been one of my biggest challenges to date" claims the composer. Using only a handful of instruments, (a piano, an Oberheim 4-voice and a battery of analogue modular synth modules), Lunn attempts to convey Lily’s journey through life in a sympathetic, but not sentimental way. The score also features several inventive cues for Higgins’ revolutionary visual depiction of the epileptic fits in addition to the dark and moody underscoring of the mystery elements. Lunn’s music for Electricity is an ultimately uplifting achievement which should delight soundtrack fans who enjoy inventive ensemble scores where a lot can be said with only a few instruments.

Only complaint is this is a shorter score, but what we have is complete grand score from Lunn who I feel gives us an energetic piece that helps stand him away from his work on Downton Abbey work. Go ahead... you will like it!

Holiday Time [Norwegian-Style]: The Christmas of Solan & Ludvig - Knut Avenstroup Haugen

MovieScore Media joins the holiday celebrations by releasing Knut Avenstroup Haugen’s score for the hit Norwegian animated film The Christmas of Solan & Ludvig. The film was by far the most popular theatrical feature in Norway last year with over 800,000 admittances, meaning every 6th Norwegian went to see the film in less than two months. MovieScore Media releases the score in digital stores following the recent DVD and Blu-ray release of the film in Norway. The film is awaiting international distribution through Trust Nordisk.

Based on the popular characters created by bestselling author Kjell Aukrust, the Christmas story takes place in Flåklypa where local residents are horrified by the prospect that they might have to celebrate without snow. Inventor Reodor Felgen is tasked with creating a snow machine, but his plans backfire as per usual… The Christmas of Solan & Ludvig is a sequel to the 1975 animation classic The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix - Norway’s first feature length stop-motion film was so popular that it sold more tickets than the population of the country! The soundtrack release coincides with the holiday-themed DVD premiere of the movie.

Joining the ride on the (not yet) snowy mountains is Norwegian composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen who is becoming one of the most in-demand composers of his native country. Haugen began his career as a composer for video games, his best-known scores are the various installments from the Age of Conan series, including the IMFCA Award-winning Hyborian Adventures or the Hollywood Music in Media Awards-winning Savage Coast of Turan. Haugen’s works have also been performed on grand occasions such as  the World Ski Championships or the 200th Anniversary Celebrations of the University of Oslo. More recently the composer’s score for his debut motion picture Fuck Up was nominated for an Amanda Award (handed out at Norwegian International Film Festival).

The story and characters of The Christmas of Solan & Ludvig are rooted in Norwegian tradition and convey a vivid yet caricatured image of the Norwegian countryside. The style of the score is timeless and based on strong melodies ranging from tongue-in-cheek easy listening tunes to stirring orchestral tracks - all infused with a healthy dose of Norwegian national romanticism and a helping of Christmas spirit. Alongside the orchestra, the boys choir and the big band, the score utilizes exotic instruments like musical saw, accordion and jaw harp to capture the homeliness of the village and the inhabitants’ quirkiness.

It's a happy score filled with a magic that invokes a Holiday sound, with a strong mystery hidden with it's notes. I have not heard of this film, but this doesn't stop me from enjoying it... as I will add it to my list of new great holiday releases from Knut Avenstroup Haugen... and label MovieScore Media...

REGARDING SUSAN SONTAG
Original Soundtrack
The Album Features Music Composed By Laura Karpman and Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum
Coincides with Broadcast Of the Documentary on HBO December 8

REGARDING SUSAN SONTAG – Original Soundtrack digitally on December 23, 2014, and on CD March 10, 2015.  The film features original music written by spouses composers Laura Karpman and Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum.
“The director, Nancy Kates, loves music and wanted it to tell a large part of the story,” said Karpman.  “She encouraged us to be bold, intellectual, sexy, dissonant and melodic.”

Kroll-Rosenbaum added, “Nancy commissioned Lewis Klahr to create film collages and left those with little or no narration. Kates often referred to these pieces as ‘putting the film in a blender,’ and we had fun with that idea. She also developed a rich, visual tapestry that dissected time metaphors and typography, and this gave us tremendous space to spread our musical wings.”

REGARDING SUSAN SONTAG is an intimate and nuanced investigation into the life of one of the most influential and provocative thinkers of the 20th century. Passionate and gracefully outspoken throughout her career, Susan Sontag became one of the most important literary, political and feminist icons of her generation. The documentary explores Sontag’s life through evocative experimental images, archival materials, accounts from friends, family, colleagues, and lovers, as well as her own words, read by actress Patricia Clarkson. From her early infatuation with books and her first experience in a gay bar; from her marriage in adolescence to her last lover, REGARDING SUSAN SONTAG is a fascinating look at a towering cultural critic and writer whose works on photography, war, illness, and terrorism still resonate today. More than any other thinker of her day, Sontag was watched, viewed, photographed and stared at. She was gazed at, and she looked back, very carefully, particularly at language and metaphor and at photography and what she called “the ecology of images.” REGARDING SUSAN SONTAG gives viewers the chance to watch Sontag while she examines the world.

HBO presents REGARDING SUSAN SONTAG airing December 8, 2014.  The REGARDING SUSAN SONTAG – Original Soundtrack, will be available digitally on December 23, 2014, and on CD March 10, 2015

SWITCH – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on December 2nd and on CD February 10, 2015. The album features original music by Brian Satterwhite (SUSHI: THE GLOBAL CATCH, MAN ON A MISSION)

“SWITCH documents the pros and cons of energy sources around the world so the director was very adamant about having characteristics of each energy source (i.e. water, wind, solar, coal, nuclear, etc.) be reflected in the individual pieces of music that accompany those topics. Since all of these sources result in the creation of electricity, I wanted that to be the glue which binds them all together,” said Satterwhite.

THE GREAT INVISIBLE

(December 9, 2014– Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release THE GREAT INVISIBLE – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on December 16th and on CD early 2015. The album features original music by David Wingo (MUD, ALL THE REAL GIRLS).

“Margaret Brown has been one of my favorite documentarians for the last several years,” said Wingo. “After seeing ORDER OF MYTHS she definitely became one of the filmmakers that I most wanted to work with, so I was thrilled to have a chance to work with her on THE GREAT INVISIBLE.”

Documentarian Margaret Brown's new film depicts the response to the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and resultant oil spill from multiple viewpoints. On April 20, 2010, communities throughout the Gulf Coast of the United States were devastated by the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon, a state-of-the-art, offshore oil-rig operated by BP in the Gulf of Mexico. The blast killed 11 of 126 rig crew-members and injured many more, setting off a fireball that was seen 35 miles away.
