Aleph Records: TALES OF HALLOWEEN - The Anthology Horror Film Also Features Original Music by Joseph Bishara, Michael Sean Colin, Christopher Drake, Christian Henson, Bobby Johnston, Jimmy Psycho, Sean Spillane, Edwin Wendler, and Austin Wintory

Aleph Records will release the TALES OF HALLOWEEN – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack exclusively on iTunes on October 23, 2015.  The film is a horror anthology featuring original music by Joseph Bishara (THE CONJURING), Michael Sean Colin (KILLJOY GOES TO HELL), Christopher Drake (BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS video games), Christian Henson (THE DEVIL’S DOUBLE), Bobby Johnston (WRISTCUTTERS: A LOVE STORY), Jimmy Psycho (The Jimmy Psycho Experiment), Sean Spillane (JUG FACE), Edwin Wendler (UNNATURAL), and Austin Wintory (DARK SUMMER).

The film features main titles by legendary composer Lalo Schifrin (THE AMITYVILLE HORROR), who’s son Ryan Schifrin directed one of the segments.

“This film is our love letter to the holiday of Halloween.  And to have a main title from the man that wrote the Academy Award nominated score for THE AMITYVILLE HORROR is setting the bar even higher,” said Ryan.  “What makes TALES OF HALLOWEEN really special is that you have one generation of legendary icons like John Landis, Joe Dante, Lalo Schifrin, and Drew Struzan all coming together to help the new generation of filmmakers.”

Eleven directors, renowned for their contribution to the horror movie genre, have joined forces to create a series of interconnected stories, each with a unique Halloween theme. Ten short films have been woven together by a shared theme of Halloween night in an American suburb, where ghouls, imps, aliens and axe murderers appear for one night only to terrorize unsuspecting residents.

Named “the best horror anthology since TRICK ‘R TREAT” by Fangoria and “among the best Halloween-themed horror movies ever made” by DailyDead, this critically acclaimed film weaves together ten chilling tales from horror's top directors. Ghosts, ghouls, monsters, and the devil delight in terrorizing unsuspecting residents of a suburban neighborhood on Halloween night.

The all-star directorial lineup includes Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones, The Descent), Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW 2,3,4), Lucky McKee (The Woman, All Cheerleaders Must Die), Mike Mendez (Gravedancers, Big Ass Spider!), and Ryan Schifrin (ABOMINABLE). The film features cameos by horror heavyweights such as Barry Bostwick (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), Lin Shaye (Insidious), John Savage (The Deer Hunter), Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog), John Landis (Director of Animal House), Joe Dante (Director of Gremlins), Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, We Are Still Here), Booboo Stewart (Twilight), Keir Gilchrist (It Follows), Grace Phipps (Fright Night), Pat Healy (Cheap Thrills), Kristina Klebe (Rob Zombie's Halloween), Greg Grunberg (Heroes, Star Wars), and more.

Lalo Schifrin: My Life in Music [4Cd] (2012)

Lalo Schifrin: My Life in Music
by: Lalo Schifrin

Aleph Record

Available: November 13, 2012

Aleph Records is proud to release Lalo Schifrin: My Life in Music, a four-CD boxed set of music from the legendary composer's career in film, jazz, and classical music. The set features music from three-dozen films, jazz and symphonic pieces composed by Schifrin, and unreleased music from films including Charley Varrick, The Beguiled, Joe Kidd, and Coogan's Bluff. Along with over five hours worth of music, a forty-eight page book is included with archival photos and notes.

This four-disc set spans music from all aspects of Mr. Schifrin's career, from the early beginnings of his film music to the big hits that include Mission Impossible, Dirty Harry, Enter The Dragon, and Bullitt. Also represented is music from his jazz and classical compositions including work commissioned by Dizzy Gillespie, as well as the Grammy-nominated Jazz Meets The Symphony series. His music is a synthesis of traditional and twentieth-century techniques, and his early love for jazz and rhythm are strong attributes of his style. "Invocations," "Concerto for Double Bass," "Piano Concertos No. 1 and No. 2," "Pulsations," "Tropicos," "La Nouvelle Orleans," and "Resonances" are examples of this tendency to juxtapose universal thoughts with a kind of elaborated primitivism. In the classical composition field, Schifrin has more than 60 works. Schifrin has written over 100 film and television scores including Mission Impossible, Mannix, Cool Hand Luke, Bullitt, The Cincinnati Kid, Amityville Horror, Enter The Dragon, four of the Dirty Harry films, and more recently Abominable and the Rush Hour trilogy. Lalo Schifrin has now won five GrammysR (twenty-two nominations), one Cable ACE Award, and six Academy AwardR nominations.

5/5 How the heck could you not love this, it's years in the making... and it bring back some fond memories to some of your favorite films. To go along with those films comes music by Lalo Schifrin, a master composer he has gracious filled this four Cd's with talent.

I thank those at the label Aleph Record, Beth [my favorite rep] and Lalo Schifrin... well for sharing his story with me and all of us. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced set on Cd, I cannot tell you how pleased to have in... so in honor of it, I made this simple yet effective trailer.

This is not a set to be missed.
