Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "MRS AMERICA" music by Kris Bowers

Fox Music/Hollywood Records has released the digital soundtrack from the FX Original Series “Mrs. America” today.  The album features an original score by Kris Bowers (“Green Book,” “When They See Us”) available here.  “Mrs. America” is now streaming exclusively on FX on Hulu.

On his score for the series, Bowers said, “This story is so incredibly important and timely, and it’s an honor to be a part of a female-forward story like this. Dahvi and the entire cast and crew did an amazing job of portraying such complex and layered characters and scenarios, and it was an enjoyable challenge to complement this with the score. I’m also so appreciative to Dahvi, FX and the producers for their help and support and we completed the score for the last few episodes during the COVID shelter-in-place orders. This project is one that I am incredibly proud to put my name on.”

Bowers recorded the first seven episodes with a 25-piece orchestra prior to the COVID-19 stay-at-home order. Challenged with scoring the remaining two episodes during quarantine, Bowers worked remotely with the individual musicians from his home, employing the “striping” technique where instruments are recorded one-by-one.

About Kris Bowers... is an Emmy Award-winning composer and pianist who creates genre-defying music that pays homage to his jazz roots with inflections of alternative and R&B influences. From scoring documentaries like “Kobe Bryant’s Muse and Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You,” to scripted series including Shonda Rhimes and Paul William Davies’ “For The People,” Netflix’s “Dear White People,” and SHOWTIME’S “Black Monday,” Bowers’ work as a film and television composer is a testament to his versatility as an artist. In 2018, Bowers had the honor of collaborating with Emmy and Academy Award-winning director Peter Farrelly and Academy Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali on their critically acclaimed “Green Book,” not only scoring the film but also serving as Ali’s on-screen hand-double and piano coach. In early 2018, Bowers scored the critically acclaimed drama, “Monsters and Men,” which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. His work also appears in Ava DuVernay’s 2019 Netflix miniseries, “When They See Us” about the Central Park Five, for which he received an Emmy nomination.  Most recently, Bowers scored the FX miniseries “Mrs. America” starring Cate Blanchett, which premiered April 15 on Hulu, and the horror-comedy film “Bad Hair,” written and directed by Justin Simien (“Dear White People”).

Bowers has recorded and performed with artists such as Q-Tip, Aretha Franklin, Ludacris, Christian Rich, Jay-Z, and Kanye West and has contributed to albums by Marcus Miller, José James, Moses Sumney, and Murs. Bowers is an official Steinway Artist and was named one of twelve ‘Artists to Watch’ by iTunes in 2014. He received the prestigious ‘ROBIE Pioneer Award’ from the Jackie Robinson Foundation in 2019. Bowers currently lives in Los Angeles with his fiancée.

Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "AMAZON ORIGINAL SERIES TALES FROM THE LOOP"

Fox Music/Hollywood Records today released the digital soundtrack from the Amazon Original series, Tales from the Loop.  The album features original themes by Philip Glass and score by Paul Leonard-Morgan and is available.

Tales from the Loop is now streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

From executive producer Matt Reeves and based on the acclaimed art of Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, Tales from the Loop explores the town and people who live above “The Loop,” a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe – making things possible that were previously relegated only to science fiction. In this fantastical mysterious town, poignant human tales are told that bare universal emotional experiences, while drawing on the intrigue of genre storytelling.

The series stars Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Town), Paul Schneider (Parks and Recreation), Daniel Zolghadri (Eighth Grade), Duncan Joiner (Waco) and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, Game of Thrones)

Leonard-Morgan said, “Collaborating with Philip Glass on Tales from the Loop was an incredible experience. Philip and I had a discussion with Nathaniel Halpern (showrunner) and Mark Romanek (executive producer) about their vision for the show, the incorporation of unusual instruments, and their shared desire of wanting the soundtrack to be an integral part of the show: ‘Music which could be listened to by itself, melodies which could be hummed, a soundtrack which will stand the test of time apart from the series.’ Philip went and scored a bunch of initial ideas, as did I, and we discussed where they all might work together. Both of us playing off each other’s sounds and melodies to create a truly unique score. Over and again, we kept coming back to the original idea: to make beautiful music, which would work hand in hand with Nathaniel’s brilliant visions and beautiful cinematography. The 8 episodes are so unique—they’re like nothing we’ve ever seen, and hopefully the score stays true to this. Melodies come back throughout the show, each guiding us through the world of the loop. During recording sessions every 3 weeks, the natural sounds of the solo violin and the solo cello gave a beautiful, haunting sound to the loop, becoming an integral part of the sound.”

Glass added, “I’ve always tried to collaborate with people from many disparate perspectives; everyone from indigenous musicians to electronic musicians have expanded my musical sensibilities. Working with Paul was no exception and the intersection of our two styles has produced a score both unexpected and familiar that accompanies the series beautifully.”

ABOUT PHILIP GLASS
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Philip Glass is a graduate of the University of Chicago and the Juilliard School. In the early 1960s, Glass spent two years of intensive study in Paris with Nadia Boulanger and, while there, earned money by transcribing Ravi Shankar’s Indian music into Western notation. By 1974, Glass had a number of innovative projects creating a large collection of new music for The Philip Glass Ensemble and for the Mabou Mines Theater Company. This period culminated in Music in Twelve Parts and the landmark opera Einstein on the Beach, for which he collaborated with Robert Wilson. Since Einstein, Glass has expanded his repertoire to include music for opera, dance, theater, chamber ensemble, orchestra and film. His scores have received Academy Award nominations (Kundun, The Hours, Notes on a Scandal) and a Golden Globe (The Truman Show). In the past few years several new works were unveiled including an opera on the death of Walt Disney, The Perfect American (co-commissioned by Teatro Real, Madrid and the English National Opera), a new touring production of Einstein, the publication of Glass’s memoir, Words Without Music, by Liveright Books, and the premiere of the revised version of Glass’ opera Appomattox, in collaboration with librettist Christopher Hampton, by the Washington National Opera in November 2015.

Glass celebrated his 80th birthday on January 31, 2017 with the world premiere of Symphony No. 11 at Carnegie Hall. His 80th birthday season featured programming around the globe, including the U.S. premieres of operas The Trial and The Perfect American, and world premieres of several new works, including Piano Concerto No. 3 and String Quartet No. 8.

In 2015, Glass received the U.S. National Medal of Arts and the 11th Glenn Gould Prize. Glass was honored with the Richard and Barbara Debs Composer’s Chair from Carnegie Hall for the 2017-2018 season. Glass received the 41st Kennedy Center Honors in 2018, and the GRAMMY Trustee’s Award in 2020.

ABOUT PAUL LEONARD-MORGAN
Paul Leonard-Morgan’s unique cinematic style of fusing orchestra with electronica has put him in high demand as a film composer, a producer and arranger for bands, and has led him to win a BAFTA award, and receive Emmy & Ivor Novello nominations.

Prior to working in film, Leonard-Morgan produced and arranged for acts including Belle and Sebastian, Snow Patrol, Mogwai, and No Doubt. However, it was his groundbreaking score for Relativity’s Limitless, a paranoia-fueled action thriller starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro, that solidified him as a major player in the film music industry and was later nominated for the prestigious World Soundtrack “Discovery of the Year” Award in Ghent. His first Emmy nomination came in 2016 for the CBS TV spinoff of Limitless, helmed by Marc Webb (Spiderman, 500 Days of Summer).

Dredd, which topped the U.K. box office in its first week of its 2012 release, is widely recognized as launching a new generation of hybrid scores, causing Variety to note the impact of “the throbbing sounds of Paul Leonard-Morgan’s bass heavy score”. In 2016, Leonard-Morgan began working with Academy-Award winning director Errol Morris on a string of projects including the documentary feature The B-Side, the award-winning Netflix series Wormwood, and the newly-completed motion picture on Steve Bannon, American Dharma. Other credits include The Quiet One–the story of Rolling Stones founding member Bill Wyman, the feature Last Breath, the hit series reboot Dynasty for The CW, and Designated Survivor on Netflix, and the feature The Tomorrow Man which debuted at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Paul’s latest project is Amazon’s sci-fi series Tales from the Loop (co-scored with Philip Glass), which will be available for streaming on April 3rd. He is also one of three composers who are scoring the highly anticipated video game Cyberpunk 2077—an open-world action-adventure story developed by CD Projekt Red, which is slated to be released in September 2020.

Paul’s work in animation includes three short Minions films, released alongside Universal Studio’s all-time highest grossing film Despicable Me 2, and Fox/Evergreen’s $80 million feature animation Walking with Dinosaurs 3D. Leonard-Morgan’s first video game soundtrack (EA Games’ flagship Battlefield Hardline) was released in 2015, and granted him the opportunity to score Warhammer: Dawn of War 3, released in April 2017.

He currently lives in Los Angeles, with studios in LA and Scotland.

Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "THE CALL OF THE WILD" music by John Powell

Fox Music/Hollywood Records releases the digital original motion picture soundtrack to 20th Century Studio’s “The Call of the Wild,” directed by Chris Sanders (“How to Train Your Dragon).  John Powell composed the score and also co-produced the soundtrack album and score with Batu Sener.  The Call of the Wild digital score album is available today, as the film opens in U.S. theatres.

As the film takes place in the Canadian Yukon Territory during the Gold Rush days of the 1890s, Powell refers to his score as “immigrant music, a kind of music that seemed to be part of that world,” incorporating banjos, accordions, mandolins, guitars, fiddles and harmonium with Irish, English and Scottish flavors. Powell recorded the 90-piece orchestra and 60-voice choir at the Newman Scoring Stage and 5 Cat Studios.

As told to Variety, Sanders added, “Music is the closest you can get to real magic. When we work on these films, I always feel that we get about 50% there and the score takes you the other 50% of the way. John brought Buck’s voice to the story. He did the heavy lifting, story-wise. He speaks for the wilderness — he brought the environment to life — and he speaks for Buck.”

Based on Jack London’s legendary adventure, “The Call of the Wild” is a cinematic experience of a lifetime. Twentieth Century Fox vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transported to the exotic wilds of the Canadian Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest rookie on a mail-delivery dogsled team—and later its leader—Buck has embarked on an extraordinary coming-of-age journey that will lead him to ultimately discover his true place in the world and become his own master.

Employing visual effects and animation technology to bring the animals in the film to life, “The Call of the Wild” is a hybrid of live-action and animated filmmaking. Harrison Ford, one of the screen’s all-time most popular and acclaimed leading men, heads a cast that includes Omar Sy (“The Intouchables”), Dan Stevens (“Downton Abbey”), Karen Gillan (“Guardians of the Galaxy”),Bradley Whitford (“Get Out”), Cara Gee (“The Expanse”), Michael Horse (“Twin Peaks”), Jean Louisa Kelly (“Yes, Dear”), Colin Woodell (“The Purge”), Adam Fergus (“Supernatural”) and Abraham Benrubi (“The Finest Hours”). Chris Sanders (“How to Train Your Dragon”) directs from a screenplay by Michael Green (“Murder on the Orient Express”) based on the novel by Jack London. It is produced by Erwin Stoff, p.g.a. (“Unbroken”), and James Mangold, p.g.a. (“Ford v Ferrari”) with Diana Pokorny (“Downsizing”), Ryan Stafford (“War for the Planet of the Apes”) and Michael Green serving as executive producers.

Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "DOWNHILL" music by Volker Bertelmann

Fox Music and Hollywood Records release the original motion picture soundtrack to “Downhill,” directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.    Inspired by the acclaimed 2014 Swedish film “Force Majeure, a married couple is thrown into disarray after barely escaping an avalanche during a family ski vacation in the Alps, and they are forced to reevaluate their lives and how they feel about each other. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell star in this biting comedy.

The film features score by Academy Award®-nominated German composer, pianist, producer, and artist Hauschka, Volker Bertelmann (“Lion,” “Gunpowder,” “Patrick Melrose”).  The score is available digitally today as the film opens in U.S. theaters.

From the start of “Downhill,” there’s a sense of foreboding, even before the Stanton family come face to face with an avalanche. That feeling of uncertainty comes from a combination of camerawork, the sight of avalanche-blast cannons on the mountainside and the film’s doom-heralding score.

“We knew the presence of music would be important,” says co-director Jim Rash. “So with our composer, we literally wanted to create the presence of Austria, and that came through yodeling. Yodeling is inherently funny, but he suggested there are modern ways that people are using it differently.”

Here, the refrain of yodels provides a kind of siren call of danger ahead. “I thought it would be nice to have a local color in the film music without getting too cliché or too traditional,” says composer Volker Bertelmann, who has been skiing in the Alps since he was a young child. “I had the feeling that we could use traditional instruments, vocals and the tonality of the yodeling music, which has, by the way, a lot in common with blues.”

Bertelmann created an eerie effect by blending notes and looping yodeling-inspired vocals.
“Traditional yodeling is usually faster,” he says. “I took elements like (blending pitches) and the way the vocals are sung to create a connection to the Alps and a kind of unique interpretation.”

The score was recorded at East Connection Music Recording Company with the Budapest Art Orchestra.

Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "UNDERWATER" music by Marco Beltrami and Brandon Roberts

Fox Music/Hollywood Records releases the digital original motion picture soundtrack to 20th Century Fox’s “Underwater,” directed by William Eubank (Signal) today.  Marco Beltrami and Brandon Roberts composed and conducted the music for Underwater, which was recorded at Pianella Studios in Malibu.  The Underwater score album is available today at digital service providers, as the film opens in U.S. theatres.

Beltrami and Roberts have collaborated on numerous projects since 2013 including “Logan,” “The Wolverine,” “Warm Bodies” and “World War Z.”  The duo received an Emmy® Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special category for their score for National Geographic’s 2019 Oscar®-winning documentary “Free Solo.”  Additionally, Beltrami received Academy Award nominations for his scores on “3:10 to Yuma” and “The Hurt Locker,” as well as a Golden Globe nomination for “A Quiet Place.”

The composers said, "The fun challenge on this score was to balance the hybrid nature of the musical elements so they could convincingly exist in an electronic world. Will {Eubank} is very influenced by electronic music and offered incredible encouragement to explore new ways of processing traditional orchestral elements to create this musical soundscape. Female vocals played a big part in this score, and we experimented with an endless array of unorthodox techniques to evoke the epic, tense and at times, very emotional elements of the film."

“Underwater” takes place in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.  Trapped in a rapidly flooding structure, a crew of six stationed on an underwater research facility realize their only shot at survival lies in walking across the ocean floor to a distant abandoned rig. In addition to the physical challenges of the journey they quickly discover they’re being hunted by mythic, monstrous sea predators hellbent on killing them.

Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "SPIES IN DISGUISE" music by Theodore Shapiro

Fox Music/Hollywood Records release the digital original motion picture soundtrack to the animated spy comedy adventure “Spies in Disguise” directed by Troy Quane and Nick Bruno. Emmy®- nominated composer, Theodore Shapiro (“Bombshell,” “Destroyer”) composed the score, which was recorded at the Newman Scoring Stage. The Spies in Disguise score album is available today, as the film opens in U.S. theatres.

To create the score for “Spies in Disguise,” the filmmakers turned to composer Shapiro, whose credits also include “Spy,” “Central Intelligence” and “Tropic Thunder.” Bruno and Quane’s first challenge to Shapiro was to compose a hero theme that would immediately evoke Lance Sterling, “Spies in Disguise,” in the same way you immediately know you’re seeing a James Bond film or a “Mission Impossible” film.

Bruno said, “Teddy has this amazing ability to sort of thread that line of drama and comedy. He’s able to find comedy without undercutting the seriousness of the scene. One of my favorite things that he’s done is the theme for Walter’s mother, who we only show at the beginning of the film, but somehow you can feel her presence throughout the film.”

Commenting on his score, Shapiro said, “’Spies In Disguise’ is a very funny movie. Its score is not funny at all. The music of this film plays to its danger, its high stakes, and above all, to the opposing world views represented by its principal characters, Lance and Walter. Lance, the world’s coolest spy, has come to believe that the world is a dangerous place and requires people like him, ready to fight in the cause of good. His theme is a sly, descending four-note motif. Walter, a brilliant gadget designer, lives in the belief instilled by his late mother that he might just save the world by embracing his deep belief in peoples’ goodness. His theme recalls the sweetness of his relationship with his mother. Then Walter accidentally turns Lance into a pigeon, and things get weird. And while this turn in the story does bring bird sounds into the fabric of the score, the music has an epic spy adventure scope that helps tell the story of these characters’ journey and emerging friendship.

Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "Ford v Ferrari" releases "SCORE" and "ALBUM"

Fox Music/Hollywood Records releases the digital original motion picture soundtrack to Ford v Ferrari, directed by James Mangold (Logan, Walk the Line).  Marco Beltrami and Buck Sanders composed the music for Ford v Ferrari, which was recorded at the legendary Capitol Records Studio in Hollywood.   The soundtrack includes three score cues alongside classic 1960’s tracks including “Money (That's What I Want)” by The Kingsmen, “Have Love Will Travel” by the Sonics and “I Put a Spell on You” by Nina Simone.

The album also includes “Polk Salad Annie (Ford v Ferrari Remix),” an exclusive remix by Grammy® Award-winning producer/mixer/writer David Sardy (The Rolling Stones, Oasis, Fall Out Boy) who worked from guitarist James Burton’s original multi-track tapes to create a riveting new mix of the guitar rock classic. The Ford v Ferrari soundtrack and score album are available today, as the film opens in U.S. theaters.

Mangold originally collaborated with composer Beltrami and his "right-hand man," audio experimental producer Sanders on 3:10 to Yuma, for which Beltrami’s score received an Academy Award® nomination. The pair then reunited with Mangold on The Wolverine and Logan.  For Ford v Ferrari, Beltrami and Sanders shared scoring duties. Their original music was inspired by the energy and grit of 1960s garage bands, which led to the choice to record with a 15-piece band including 3 guitars, keyboards/piano, organ, bass, standup bass, drums, percussion and a horn section.

Beltrami and Sanders’ collaborations span a period of more than two decades’ worth of prestige films and genre classics. They have garnered a host of accolades including both receiving Academy Award nominations for their score on The Hurt Locker.  Additionally, Beltrami recently earned a Golden Globe nomination for A Quiet Place, which included sound design by Sanders. Their numerous projects together also include Resident Evil, The Homesman, I, Robot, Warm Bodies and World War Z, working with such acclaimed filmmakers as Tommy Lee Jones, Joon-ho Bong and Roland Joffé.

Academy Award-winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in Ford v Ferrari, based on the remarkable true story of the visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and the fearless British-born driver Ken Miles (Bale), who together battled corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford Motor Company and take on the dominating race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.   Ford v Ferrari is directed by James Mangold with a screenplay by Jez Butterworth & John-Henry Butterworth and Jason Keller.  Producers are Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and James Mangold.

Fox Music/Hollywood Records: "JOJO RABBIT" Score and Soundtrack

Fox Music/Hollywood Records releases the digital original motion picture soundtrack to Jojo Rabbit, which was directed, written, produced by and stars Taika Waititi.  Michael Giacchino composed, produced and conducted the music for Jojo Rabbit, which was recorded in London.  The soundtrack includes three score cues alongside classic tracks performed in German from The Beatles, Roy Orbison and David Bowie, as well as songs from Ella Fitzgerald, Tom Waits, Love and more.  The Jojo Rabbit soundtrack and score album are available today at streaming and download services, as the film opens in U.S. theatres.

Waititi (Thor: Ragnarock, Hunt for the Wilderpeople), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, Jojo Rabbit, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis as JoJo) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

Jojo Rabbit is based upon the book Caging Skies by Christine Leunens.  Michael Giacchino’s score provides a beautiful accompaniment to the film which stars Roman Griffin Davis, Thomasin McKenzie, Waititi, Rebel Wilson, Stephen Merchant, Alfie Allen, with Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johansson.  The producers are Carthew Neal, Waititi and Chelsea Winstanley.  Jojo Rabbit was recently awarded the top People’s Choice honor at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it premiered.

“Working with Michael Giacchino on Jojo Rabbit was a very collaborative and instinctive process,” said Waititi. “His music elevated the film to a new level, hitting those emotional, key points throughout. We were thrilled to have him on board and are excited for audiences to experience and enjoy the score as much as we do.”

Giacchino’s foundation for the score lay in classical influences from 1939 Germany including Chopin, Liszt and Satie.  The composer said, “But most of all what inspired me is constantly thinking, ‘what is the film asking for?’  You just have to try to take on those really hard emotions and feel them in your gut.  That’s the challenge of a film like this.”

Those emotions led to the choice of a pared-down ensemble:  a 22-piece orchestra with a string quartet at its center, as well as piano, a couple of guitars, some brass and percussion. “For me, it’s a really nice change to work with a small, intimate group like that,” Giacchino says.  “I’m used to working with a 100-piece orchestra, but I personally feel the smaller the orchestra, the more emotional the sound.”

Composer Michael Giacchino has credits that feature some of the most popular and acclaimed film projects in recent history, including The Incredibles, War for the Planet of the Apes, Ratatouille, Star Trek, Jurassic World, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Coco. Giacchino’s 2009 score for the Disney and Pixar hit Up earned him an Oscar®, a Golden Globe®, the BAFTA, the Broadcast Film Critics' Choice Award and two GRAMMY® Awards.

Fox Music: "READY OR NOT" music Brian Tyler

Fox Music releases the original motion picture soundtrack to READY OR NOT, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.   The score was composed and conducted by Brian Tyler and is available digitally today.  READY OR NOT opened in theaters nationwide on August 21, 2019.

Brian Tyler, a multiple BAFTA and Emmy Award nominee, has been a composer and conductor on over 70 feature films.  Among the hit movies for which he has composed the scores have been Joss Whedon’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON; five films from the FAST AND FURIOUS franchise, including James Wan’s FURIOUS 7; Shane Black’s IRON MAN 3; Alan Taylor’s THOR: THE DARK WORLD; Jon Chu’s CRAZY RICH ASIANS for which he was voted to the 2019 Oscar shortlist for Best Original Score; Justin Baldoni’s FIVE FEET APART; both NOW YOU SEE ME films; and Adam Shankman’s WHAT MEN WANT. Upcoming projects include CHARLIE’S ANGELS directed by Elizabeth Banks.

Tyler began scoring features shortly after completing his Master’s Degree from Harvard University as well as receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA. Among his early collaborations were scoring movies for directors Bill Paxton (FRAILTY and THE GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED) and William Friedkin (THE HUNTED and BUG). His many other credits as composer include all three of THE EXPENDABLES movies, which followed his collaboration with director/star Sylvester Stallone on RAMBO; and writer/director James Vanderbilt’s TRUTH, starring Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford.

His work in films also encompasses arranging and conducting the logo music for Universal Pictures and Marvel Studios. Tyler has additionally composed the themes for the NFL on ESPN, for the nationally televised U.S. Open Championships, and for Formula 1.  Also, he has composed music for television series including dozens of episodes of “Hawaii Five-O” and Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” starring Kevin Costner.

He is a multi-instrumentalist skilled at playing piano, guitar, drums, bass, cello, world percussion, guitarviol, charango, and bouzouki, among others. Tyler performs electronic music under the moniker Madsonik.

He has conducted symphonic concerts of his movies around the globe and frequently conducts the London Philharmonic, the Philharmonic Orchestra of London, and the Hollywood Studio Symphony. His honors include 32 BMI Music Awards, 5 ASCAP Music Awards, and 12 Goldspirit Awards including Composer of the Year.  Tyler was also named Film Composer of the Year at the 2014 Cue Awards.

On his score for the Fox Searchlight fantastical genre film, Tyler said, “Ready or Not was an incredible opportunity to fuse completely unlikely tones: elegance, insanity, and beauty. The narrative and aesthetic of the movie calls for such a pairing with its gorgeously shot rich set pieces and costumes set against the psychotic mania of the story. The directors and producers of the film are true movie lovers and amazing collaborators, many of whom I have worked with for decades. This project was a labor of love and we dove into it head first. I composed primarily a classical chamber string score with romantic themes containing hints of an unhinged tone that builds throughout the score to the climactic, glorious, demented finale.”

...and ...and... and, dig that score! YES!

Fox Music: Enough Said [2013] - Marcelo Zarvos

FOX MUSIC RELEASES:
ENOUGH SAID [2013]
Music By: Marcelo Zarvos

(September 30, 2013– Los Angeles, CA) – Fox Music has released the ENOUGH SAID – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally via iTunes.  The soundtrack features the original score composed by Marcelo Zarvos (THE WORDS, TV’s RAY DONOVAN).

“This was my second collaboration with [director] Nicole Holofcener,” said Zarvos of ENOUGH SAID.  “The score had to navigate a delicate balance of the comedic and dramatic aspects of the film with instrumentation ranging from a small folk ensemble to orchestral. A master of blending comedy and emotion Nicole really wanted the music to feel unified … but not too traditional.”
