WaterTower Music: "THE ART AND SOUL OF DUNE" (COMPANION BOOK MUSIC) Music by Hans Zimmer

WaterTower Music has today released The Art and Soul of Dune (Companion Book Music), the last of three separate album releases of music from and in celebration of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Dune,” the highly-anticipated adaptation of Frank Herbert’s seminal bestselling book from Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Denis Villeneuve (“Arrival,” “Blade Runner 2049”). All three albums feature the music of legendary composer Hans Zimmer (Interstellar, Inception, Gladiator, Dark Knight Trilogy). The film began opening in select markets around the world beginning September 15, and opens today, October 22, in the U.S. on October 22 in theaters and on HBO Max.

The Art and Soul of Dune (Companion Book Music) features 9 tracks of music from the companion soundtrack to the book of the same title, which is also available today. The album was curated by Zimmer and offers uniquely crafted versions of the film’s main themes to accompany the reader on their journey through this visually dazzling book, which was written by the film’s executive producer Tanya Lapointe.

Dune director Denis Villeneuve and Hans Zimmer, who previously collaborated on Blade Runner 2049, instantly bonded over their shared passion for Herbert’s novel. “We agreed that the music would need to have a spirituality to it… a sanctified quality,” explained Villeneuve. “Something that would elevate the soul and have the effect that only sacred music can. And I believe that is firmly present in Hans’ score.”

Zimmer offered, “I absolutely love working with Denis. He has an incredible imagination and offers so much soul within the complexity of making a film of this magnitude, and our aesthetic is very comparable. Dune has always been very close to both of our hearts. The task was to figure out how we were going to interpret something we truly loved and admired, and invite the audience to come and have their own personal experience. That was, for us, the reason to make this film.”

The prolific composer took a unique approach in creating the music of Dune. He decided that, since Dune was about a different civilization, he would invent instruments to accompany that concept, instead of utilizing solely standard instrumentation.  “Hans spent months and months creating new instruments, defining, creating, and seeking new sounds, pushing the envelope,” described Villeneuve. “The musicianship is extraordinary, and this is not your normal orchestral score.”

Villeneuve was thrilled that Zimmer continued to explore the music on two additional albums past the soundtrack itself. On Zimmer’s process, he described “It was absolutely beautiful… he continued to write music even when the movie was finished! He was still inspired and went on writing.”

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

Oscar® nominee Denis Villeneuve directed Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ Dune. The film stars Oscar® nominee Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Oscar® nominee Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, with Oscar® nominee Charlotte Rampling, with Jason Momoa, and Oscar® winner Javier Bardem. Villeneuve directed Dune from a screenplay by Jon Spaihts and Villeneuve and Eric Roth, based on the novel of the same name written by Frank Herbert. The film’s producers were Mary Parent, Villeneuve, Cale Boyter and Joe Caracciolo, Jr. The executive producers were Tanya Lapointe, Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson as special consultant.  Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Present a Legendary Pictures Production, a Film by Denis Villeneuve, Dune. The film is slated to be released worldwide this fall, in theaters from 15 September internationally and in the U.S. on October 22 in theaters and on HBO Max; it will be available on HBO Max in the Ad-Free plan for 31 days from theatrical release.  The film has been rated PG-13 for sequences of strong violence, some disturbing images and suggestive material.

Back Lot Music: "LAST NIGHT IN SOHO" about the upcoming releases... Songs, Score and Vinyl.

Back Lot Music has released the first single from Writer/Director/Producer Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho in Anya Taylor-Joy’s haunting cover of “Downtown (Downtempo)”. The song marks Taylor-Joy’s first major single with accompanying music video, which released exclusively on her Instagram channel before going wide on Focus Features’ YouTube channel. An ‘Uptempo’ version of the track is featured as the B-side to a 7inch offering from Mondo/Death Waltz Records.  Taylor-Joy performs the song in the feature film, but producer/composer Steven Price produced the two extended versions especially for the soundtrack. Both versions feature orchestra recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Additionally, Back Lot/Mondo will release the various artists compilation soundtrack featuring songs exclusively curated by Wright from his 60’s inspired film this Friday, October 22nd. Alongside the needledrops are three songs performed by Taylor-Joy and a score suite from composer Price. Finally, Back Lot/Mondo will release Price’s full score to the film along with three additional Taylor-Joy recordings (which includes the “Downtown (Downtempo)” single) on Friday, October 29th day-and-date with the US/UK film release.

In acclaimed director Wright’s psychological thriller, Eloise – an aspiring fashion designer – is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer, Sandie. But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something far darker.

Wright is well known for expertly curated soundtracks and deep musical cuts, and LAST NIGHT IN SOHO – itself named after the Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich song – is no exception. The decade long development of the story was done hand in hand with finding songs that set the tone for the film he had in mind. Then, he and co-screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns listened to the music he’d assembled as they wrote the script; Wright even put together a playlist for his cast members to listen to as they read the results. But he also wanted a score to soundtrack the two eras of Last Night in Soho and tie together the stories of these two very different young women. To achieve this, Wright turned once again to his now-regular composer, Academy Award® winner Steven Price, who scored both Baby Driver and The World’s End.

While Price’s influences for the score included contemporary film music by the likes of Ennio Morricone and John Barry, the music also explores musique concréte techniques of the time, looping fragments of dialogue and on-screen sound to add a unique and often subliminally sinister edge to the score. The sounds of ‘60s Soho blend into the present-day London scenes as Eloise is sucked further into the past. “One of the central ideas is that Sandie’s voice becomes part of the fabric of the film, so you hear her siren song from the ‘60s bleeding through into the present day, and Anya’s performances became an intrinsic part of it… I was so pleased that our lead actress could also be the lead singer in the film score; the whole thing knitted together,” said Price.

Regarding the authentic 60’s arrangements of songs “Downtown” and “Your My World” performed by Taylor-Joy, Price said, “my thought was, imagine if Sandie’s dreams come true and she got to do those songs at Café de Paris for real. So, we did the proper numbers, everything period accurate in Abbey Road. We then wanted to do a unique version of Downtown, building on the audition Sandy performs in the film.  We recorded a new slowed down version, combining the orchestra and textures of the film’s score to create a haunting new take on the song.”

It's all in service of meticulously creating a musical soundscape that supports Wright’s beautifully created world – or perhaps worlds – and this thrilling, chilling, story of following your dreams wherever they lead you, and the nightmares that can result.

Milan Records: "FOUND" music by Toby Chu

Milan Records today releases FOUND (SOUNDTRACK FROM THE NETFLIX FILM) with music by composer TOBY CHU. Available everywhere now, the album features score music written by Chu for the documentary film following three adopted American teenagers who journey to China together in search of their shared history after discovering they’re blood relatives. Also included on the album is “Mystery of Me,” an original vocal track performed by GRAMMY Award®-winning singer and actress PHILLIPA SOO and featuring singer-songwriter MILCK. Written by MILCK in collaboration with songwriter SIMON WILCOX, “Mystery of Me” features Soo’s soaring vocals as she sings, “I will always be uncovering the mystery of me / I will always keep on looking for who I am.” With its joyous chorus echoing the film’s onscreen themes, “Mystery of Me” is a fitting theme song for the film’s powerful narrative and the courage at the heart of the girls’ search for belonging. From documentary filmmaker Amanda Lipitz, Found debuts on Netflix today.

Of the score, composer TOBY CHU says, “Found is a distinctly human film that I think viewers will be moved by. It’s about loss, hope, our connection to one another, and sheds light on important events that changed the course of so many. My hope is the score helps to convey the girls’ experiences while honoring and shining a light on their story."

Of “Mystery of Me,” singer-songwriter MILCK says,” Writing the theme song ‘Mystery of Me’ with Simon Wilcox was a special moment, as we both have close experiences with adoption in our own lives… We delved into dramatic drumbeats and joyous choral lines to create a song for Phillipa Soo's vocals to soar. The power and expansiveness in Phillipa's voice is symbolic of how the three young women of Found expansively soar through the unknown… I hope that ‘Mystery of Me’ will provide a moment where all of us can feel closer to each other, no matter our heritages or backgrounds, because we are all united in the desire to belong, and to find more of who we are.”

Of her inclusion on the soundtrack, actress and singer PHILLIPA SOO adds, “I am so grateful to Amanda Lipitz for asking me to be a part of this beautiful documentary… Being a part of this project was rejuvenating for my spirit and made me so proud to be an Asian-American woman. I am so honored to have contributed to this authentic and heartwarming story.”

In Amanda Lipitz's documentary film, Found, three adopted American teenage girls discover that they are blood-related cousins. Their online meeting inspires the young women to confront complicated and emotional questions, and embark on a once in a lifetime journey to China together in search of answers, connections, and their lost history.

Toby Chu is a Chinese American film composer, with dual citizenship in the United States and Croatia. Toby recently scored two popular animated series: Netflix’s Centaurworld and Apple TV’s Emmy and Peabody award-winning Stillwater. In addition, he composed the score for Netflix’s documentary film Found where he also co-wrote an original song performed by Grammy award-winning singer and actress Phillipa Soo.

Toby has garnered acclaim for his score to Pixar’s Oscar-winning animated short Bao, which played in front of Incredibles 2. His works include Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania for Sony Pictures Animation, Warner Bros’ dramatic thriller Unforgettable, and New Line Cinema’s period thriller The Wolves at the Door. He also scored BRON Studios’ animation Henchman and NBC’s The Brave.

Toby collaborated with Daft Punk, arranging and orchestrating “Adagio for Tron” on the Tron: Legacy soundtrack. His credits include musical contributions to Man on Fire, Déjà Vu, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Domino, and Team America: World Police.

Milan Records: "NIGHT TEETH" (SOUNDTRACK FROM THE NETFLIX FILM) music by Drum & Lace and Ian Hultquist

NIGHT TEETH (SOUNDTRACK FROM THE NETFLIX FILM) by Drum & Lace and Ian Hultquist (Dickinson, Good Girls). Available everywhere today, the album features the duo’s synth-infused original score that plays like a continuous mixtape throughout the stylish and suspense-filled vampire thrill ride. The gritty soundtrack plays like a roadmap of Los Angeles, with each city having its own signature sound and introducing new characters along the way.

Directed by Adam Randall and starring Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Debby Ryan, Lucy Fry, Raúl Castillo, Alfie Allen, Alexander Ludwig, Sydney Sweeney and Megan Fox, Night Teeth is now available for streaming globally on Netflix – click HERE to watch.

Of the soundtrack, co-composers Drum & Lace and Ian Hultquist say, "We were so thrilled to be brought on to create the score for Night Teeth. From our very first conversation with Adam (Randall, Director), we knew this film would give us the chance to create something unique, exciting, and propulsive to complement the film's pacing and rhythm. We landed somewhere between electronica, synth-pop, and hip-hop, and we're really excited for folks to hear it in the film. We spent a lot of time to make sure that our score could hit as hard as all the excellent needle drops.  We loved that everyone on the music and film teams were so invested in this film and wanted to see it through as best as they could – this meant we got to work closely with Adam, the producers, our Music Supervisor Rob Lowry, super-star Music Editor Ben Zales, and the fantastic team at Netflix. We hope everyone enjoys this ride through Los Angeles as much as we enjoyed working on it!”

To earn some extra cash, quirky college student Benny (Jorge Lendeborg, Jr.) moonlights as a  chauffeur for one night. His task: drive two mysterious young women (Debby Ryan and Lucy Fry) around Los Angeles for a night of party hopping. Taken captive by his clients' charm, he soon learns that his passengers have their own plans for him – and an insatiable thirst for blood. As his night spins out of control, Benny is thrust into the middle of a clandestine war that pits rival tribes of vampires against the protectors of the human world, led by his brother (Raúl Castillo), who will stop at nothing to send them back into the shadows. With sunrise fast approaching, Benny is forced to choose between fear and temptation if he wants to stay alive and save the City of Angels.

Lakeshore Records: "ADDAMS FAMILY 2" music by Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna

Lakeshore Records released The Addams Family 2—Original Motion Picture Score Soundtrack digitally on October 15.  Composed by Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna (Onward, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus), the score combines non-western musical traditions with orchestral music to create a vividly unique backdrop to the creepy fun classic.  Based on the famous New Yorker creations of Charles Addams, MGM’s animated comedy features an all-star voice cast let by Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, , Chloë Grace Moretz, Javon “Wanna” Walton, Nick Kroll, Bette Midler and Snoop Dogg playing IT. Bill Hader joins the voice cast for the new installment as “Cyrus Strange.” Directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, The Addams Family 2 is in theaters and premium on demand.

Everyone’s favorite spooky family is back in the animated comedy sequel, The Addams Family 2. In this all-new movie we find Morticia and Gomez distraught that their children are growing up, skipping family dinners, and totally consumed with “scream time.” To reclaim their bond they decide to cram Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester and the crew into their haunted camper and hit the road for one last miserable family vacation. Their adventure across America takes them out of their element and into hilarious run-ins with their iconic cousin, IT, as well as many new kooky characters. What could possibly go wrong?

Says Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna: “We had a terrific time re-entering the musical world of ‘The Addams Family’ that we developed on the first film. This musical world was gypsy instrumentation and modalities from Spain and Eastern Europe, which captured the history and dark humor of the family, combined with a cinematic orchestra: this gave us a tremendously colorful and lively palette to work with. Adding a dash of large gothic organ and musical saw to the brew, we created a sound that moved easily between large and frightening and whimsical.”

MYCHAEL DANNA is an Academy Award-winning film composer recognized for his evocative blending of non-western traditions with orchestral and electronic music. His body of work includes his Oscar-winning score for Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi” following his collaborations with Lee on “The Ice Storm”(1997) and “Ride with the Devil” (1999).   Danna also received the 2013 Golden Globe Award for “Life of Pi.”

His other celebrated collaborations include those with Bennett Miller on his multiple Oscar-nominee “Moneyball,” in 2011 and his Oscar-winning drama “Capote,” in 2005; with Terry Gilliam on his Oscar-nominated “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” in 2009 and “Tideland,” in 2005; with Mira Nair on “Vanity Fair,” in 2004, “Monsoon Wedding,” in 2001 and “Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love,” in 1996; and with Billy Ray on “Breach,” in 2007 and “Shattered Glass,” in 2003. Danna’s credits also include the 2006 Oscar-winning “Little Miss Sunshine,” for which he shared a Grammy Award nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album; Marc Webb’s acclaimed romantic comedy “(500) Days of Summer” in 2009; and James Mangold’s 1999 Oscar-winning film “Girl, Interrupted.”

Mychael most recently scored the thriller “Stillwater” directed by Oscar winner Tom McCarthy starring Oscar winner Matt Damon.  He also co-scored the Amazon Original Movie “Cinderella” with Jessica Rose Weiss.  Mychael and Jeff Danna wrote the original score for the animated feature “The Addams Family 2” which is being released on October 1, 2021.

Among Mychael’s other awards are the Frederick Loewe Award for Film Composing (2013), the World Soundtrack Awards for Film Composer of the Year, and Best Score of the Year (both 2013), the Hollywood Film Award for Composer of the Year (2016), and the Career Achievment Award, Zürich Fim Festival (2021).

JEFF DANNA was born in Burlington, Ontario. A reluctant piano student at age eight, he found solace in the guitar at age eleven and began playing professionally at fifteen until a hand injury at age 21 curtailed his performance career. He subsequently began composing for films and moved to Los Angeles to continue working.

Danna has created scores for a long and varied list of films.  His credits include such diverse projects as the hit film adaptations of the video game/action franchises “Resident Evil: Apocalypse,” “Silent Hill” and “Silent Hill 2”; the Ryan Gosling-Anthony Hopkins legal drama “Fracture”; “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus” and “Tideland,” both directed by Terry Gilliam; “Lakeview Terrace,” directed by Neil LaBute; a series of films for director Brett Morgen, including “The Kid Stays in The Picture,” “Chicago 10,” and the Kurt Cobain biopic “Montage of Heck”; “Closing the Ring” for director Richard Attenborough; and the cult classic “The Boondock Saints,” among others.

Jeff wrote the music for Guillermo Del Toro’s animated science fantasy series “Tales of Arcadia” for Netflix and produced by DreamWorks Animation which premiered in 2018.  Jeff and Mychael wrote the music for the animated feature "The Addams Family” which was released in 2019 and Disney and Pixar’s  Oscar nominated animated film “Onward” which opened in theaters on March 6, 2020 and for which they received an Annie nomination for Best Music - Feature.  Jeff and Mychael wrote the original score for the upcoming animated feature "The Addams Family 2” which is being released on October 1, 2021.

Together, Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna wrote the score for Pixar’s animated feature “The Good Dinosaur” in 2015 and received an Annie nomination for their music.  Mychael scored the Oscar-nominated short preceding the film, “Sanjay’s Super Team.”  The Danna brothers continued their collaboration on the score for “Storks” for Warner Animation Group, and on the Oscar nominated animated film “The Breadwinner,” for which they were Annie nominated for their original score, and won the best original music award from the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France.  Mychael and Jeff Danna also scored the animated feature “The Addams Family” and Disney and Pixar’s Oscar nominated animated feature “Onward” which opened in theaters on March 6, 2020 and for which they received an Annie nomination for Best Music – Feature.

MVD Entertainment Group: "Sailor Suit And Machine Gun" [Limited Edition]

A perky high-schooler takes on the mob in Sailor Suit and Machine Gun, a one-of-a-kind genre-bender that riffs on the yakuza film, coming-of-age drama and 'idol movie', inventively adapted from Jiro Akagawa's popular novel by director Shinji Somai (Typhoon Club, Wait and See), a massively influential figure in Japanese cinema whose work has been little seen outside his homeland. Hoshi Izumi is a young innocent forced to grow up quickly when her father dies and she finds herself next in line as the boss of a moribund yakuza clan. Wrenched from the security of her classroom and thrust into the heart of the criminal underworld, she must come to terms with the fact that her actions hold the key to the life or death of the men under her command as they come under fire from rival gangs. Presented in both its Original Theatrical and longer Complete versions, and the first time one of Somai's films has been released on home video in the West, this landmark work from his early career was responsible for launching teen talent Hiroko Yakushimaru (Legend of the Eight Samurai; Detective Story) as the iconic face of a generation, with the catchy theme song she performs indelibly etched into the zeitgeist of early-1980s Japan.

MVD Entertainment Group: "Mill Of The Stone Women" [Limited Edition]

Before Black Sabbath, before I Vampiri, director Giorgio Ferroni (The Lion of Thebes, Blood for a Silver Dollar) introduced audiences to period horror Italian-style with his chilling 1960 shocker Mill of the Stone Women - a classic tale of terror redolent with the atmosphere of vintage Hammer Horror. Young art student Hans von Arnam (Pierre Brice, Night of the Damned) arrives by barge at an old mill to write a monograph about its celebrated sculptures of women in the throes of death and torture, maintained and curated by the mill's owner, the hermetic Professor Wahl (Herbert Böhme, Secret of the Red Orchid). But when Hans encounters the professor's beautiful and mysterious daughter Elfi (Scilla Gabel, Modesty Blaise), his own fate becomes inexorably bound up with hers, and with the shocking secret that lies at the heart of the so-called Mill of the Stone Women. The first Italian horror film to be shot in color, Mill of the Stone Women prefigured a raft of other spaghetti nightmares, including the work of maestros Mario Bava and Dario Argento. Arrow Video is proud to present this brand-new restoration of one of the foundational titles of Italian horror.

MVD Entertainment Group: "Yokai Monsters Collection" [Limited Edition]

From the makers of Daimajin comes a trilogy of terror ripped from the pages of Japanese folklore, with ghosts and monsters from ancient myths and legends brought to life through stunning special effects, alongside an epic, big-budget reboot of the series from a modern-day master of the macabre, now available together on Blu-ray for the first time. In the first film in the trilogy, 100 Monsters, a greedy slumlord's attempts to forcefully evict his tenants invite the wrath of the titular spirits when a cleansing ritual is botched, with terrifying results.

The second film, Spook Warfare, tells the tale of an evil Babylonian vampire inadvertently awoken by treasure hunters, and a brave samurai that teams with the yokai to defeat the bloodthirsty demon. In the final film, Along with Ghosts (released only 12 months after 100 Monsters), the yokai are roused to defend a young girl on the run from deadly yakuza. Decades later, none other than Takashi Miike (Audition) helmed The Great Yokai War, a loose remake of Spook Warfare that used cutting-edge digital effects to renew the franchise for a new generation. In it, a young boy is given a grave responsibility: to band together with a group of yokai to defend humanity against a vengeful and powerful demon that has sworn retribution against modern-day Japan.

Hollywood Records: “THE LAST DUEL” music by Harry Gregson-Williams

The Last Duel Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is available today from Hollywood Records.  Celebrated composer Harry Gregson-Williams, who has worked with the film's director Ridley Scott numerous times over the past decade (The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven), perfectly captures both the drama and the period of the film.  Recorded in Los Angeles, the original score for "The Last Duel" was performed by a large orchestra and choir, in addition to featuring medieval instruments, including wooden flutes, hammer dulcimers, a consort of viols, a cathedral organ and a lute.  Gregson-Williams also worked with some exceptional and much in demand vocalists: Grace Davidson, who is one of Britain's leading sopranos is featured alongside the outstanding counter-tenor, Iestyn Davies.  Gregson-Williams had worked with Davies on Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven."  "The tone of his voice is so beautiful and is used in a very haunting way within the score," says Gregson-Williams about Davies. Accompanying these soloists was a vocal ensemble out of London called Voces8.  "There are just eight of them, and they are very, very precise (out of necessity) and the sound they make has a purity and accuracy that is as unique as it is wonderful," Gregson-Williams says.

The film's main thematic feel was inspired by the track "Celui Que Je Désire" which Gregson-Williams wrote while the film was in production in Ireland and France and features Grace Davidson, which plays over the final scene of the film following the aftermath of the duel.  Notes Gregson-Williams, "I sent the song to Ridley and he reacted really well to it, so we decided to use the song's melody as a source of thematic material that could be used throughout the score."

"Ridley is full of ideas and questions when it comes to music. He gives me a clear direction for an overall feel and tone to the score that he's looking for.  He is an artist first and foremost, and I know that he paints rather well.  He might talk to me using expressions and language that apply to painting but they have a similar connotation with music," added Gregson-Williams.

ABOUT "THE LAST DUEL" "The Last Duel" is a gripping tale of betrayal and vengeance set against the brutality of 14th century France. A cinematic and thought-provoking drama set in the midst of the Hundred Years War, the film explores the ubiquitous power of men, the frailty of justice, and the strength and courage of one woman willing to stand alone in the service of truth. Based on actual events, the film unravels long-held assumptions about France's last sanctioned duel between Jean de Carrouges and Jacques Le Gris, two friends turned bitter rivals.

"The Last Duel" stars Oscar winner Matt Damon ("Good Will Hunting," "Ford v Ferrari"), two-time Academy Award nominee Adam Driver ("Marriage Story," "BlacKkKlansman"), Emmy winner Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve," "Free Guy"), two-time Oscar winner Ben Affleck ("Argo," "Good Will Hunting") and Harriet Walter ("Atonement," "Sense and Sensibility"). Directed by four-time Academy Award nominee Ridley Scott ("The Martian," "Black Hawk Down," "Gladiator," "Thelma & Louise") with a screenplay by Oscar nominee Nicole Holofcener ("Can You Ever Forgive Me?") & Ben Affleck & Matt Damon based on the book by Eric Jager. The film is produced by Ridley Scott, p,g.a., Kevin J. Walsh, p.g.a. ("Manchester by the Sea"), Jennifer Fox, p.g.a. ("Nightcrawler"), Nicole Holofcener, p.g.a., Matt Damon, p.g.a., Ben Affleck, p.g.a., with Kevin Halloran ("Ford v Ferrari"), Drew Vinton ("Promised Land"), Madison Ainley ("Justice League") serving as executive producers.

ABOUT HARRY GREGSON-WILLIAMS: One of Hollywood's most sought-after and prolific composers whose long list of film and television credits underscore the diverse range of his talents.  Gregson-Williams wrote the music for Disney's live action feature film "Mulan" which was directed by Niki Caro with whom he worked previously having scored her film "The Zookeeper's Wife."  Gregson-Williams also co-wrote the original song "Loyal Brave True" for "Mulan" performed by Christina Aguilera.  Upcoming projects for Gregson-Williams include "The Last Duel" and "House of Gucci" both directed by Ridley Scott. He was the composer on all four installments of the animated blockbuster "Shrek" franchise, garnering a BAFTA Award nomination for the score for the Oscar-winning "Shrek."  He received Golden Globe and Grammy Award nominations for his score for Andrew Adamson's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." He has collaborated multiple times with a number of directors, including Ben Affleck on "Live by Night," "The Town" and "Gone Baby Gone"; Joel Schumacher on "Twelve," "The Number 23," "Veronica Guerin" and "Phone Booth"; Tony Scott on "Unstoppable," "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3," "Déjà Vu," "Domino," "Man on Fire," "Spy Game" and "Enemy of the State"; Ridley Scott on "The Martian," "Prometheus," "Exodus: Gods and Kings," "Kingdom of Heaven" and the upcoming "The Last Duel" and "House of Gucci"; Bille August on "Return to Sender" and "Smilla's Sense of Snow"; Andrew Adamson on the "Shrek" series, the first two "Narnia" movies and "Mr. Pip"; and Antoine Fuqua on "The Replacement Killers," "The Equalizer," The Equalizer 2" and "Infinite." Dick's Electric Dreams" for which he received an Emmy nomination for the episode titled "The Commuter."

Lions Gate Records: "HEELS: SEASON ONE" music by Jeff Cardoni

Lions Gate Records has digitally released music from season one of the STARZ Original Television Series “Heels”, composed by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, The Kominsky Method). The album is available today, in conjunction with the recently aired climactic season finale. The score predominantly features electric guitar, augmented with strings and piano to reflect the gritty, down-to-earth world the wrestling drama is set in. The opening track “Love in War” (Main Title Theme) features Ben Bridwell, fron-tman of the Grammy-nominated American rock group Band of Horses. The complete season of “Heels” is available for streaming on STARZPLAY.

Jeff Cardoni says, ‘Heels’ was a dream project work on—I feel it’s the most personal representation of what I do to date. I owe a debt of gratitude to music supervisor Jonathan Leahy. Through him I was given a chance to read the script and submit a demo. I stayed up all that night and wrote a piece of music called “Crystal Belongs in the Ring,” and thought nothing of it. Low and behold, [Executive Producer and] Showrunner Mike O’Malley loved the cue and hired me based on that and my recently released solo album ‘Nuovo Futuro,’ which coincidentally had the instrumental sound I envisioned for the show. Flash forward a year later, and the themes in that first piece of music became the main building blocks of the score and the cue itself appears in the big climax of the season finale.”

“Heels” is a story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to — or hard to leave behind.

In addition to O’Malley, the show is written and created by executive Producer Michael Waldron. Peter Segal, who directs several episodes, also serves as Executive Producer along with Christopher Donnelly, and Patrick Walmsley. “Heels” stars Stephen Amell as Jack Spade, with Alexander Ludwig playing his younger brother, Ace, and aired its Season 1 finale on Sunday, October 10. “Heels” is now available on the STARZ App.

Jeff Cardoni’s talents range from intimate independent fare to full orchestral majesty. With over 45 feature film scores and several network series to his credit, one can hear his work worldwide every day. His unique ability to cross genres has made him a powerful player in the film composing industry.

His body of work ranges from studio features such as Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Step Up: All In, and Just Friends, to independent films such as The Confirmation from Oscar nominated Bob Nelson (Nebraska) and the Sundance darling The Vicious Kind. His television scores include the Starz wrestling drama Heels, the Disney+ legacy sequel Turner and Hooch, Mike Judge’s hit Silicon Valley for HBO, the CBS drama Training Day with the late Bill Paxton, the highest rated comedy of the year Young Sheldon for Chuck Lorre, and the worldwide Jerry Bruckheimer produced hit CSI: Miami.

WaterTower Music: "SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE" music by Evgueni Galperine and Sacha Galperine

WaterTower Music is proud to announce the release of the soundtrack to the HBO® Original Limited Series Scenes from a Marriage, which features music from fraternal composing duo Evgueni Galperine & Sacha Galperine (The Undoing, Loveless, Radioactive, Paterno). A modern adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's classic Swedish series of the same name Scenes from a Marriage is a five-part limited series following Mira (Jessica Chastain), an ambitious tech executive left unfulfilled by her marriage, and Jonathan (Oscar Isaac), an accommodating philosophy professor desperate to keep their relationship intact. The soundtrack is now available, and show airs on HBO and is available to stream on HBO Max.

Composing brothers Evgueni and Sacha Galperine, who merged their exceptional talents to create the score, discussed their work and approach to the music for the HBO series.  "We thought that a minimalistic and repetitive approach would be the appropriate musical key to Scenes from a Marriage. It seemed to perfectly fit the idea of some everyday routine with its repetition of the same gestures and actions in which every little detail, every little change, could be of a huge importance. The score,” continued the acclaimed composing duo, “is acoustic, intimate, and employs melodies which are simple in appearance but in which we always include some little twists, some ‘out-of-the-box’ elements giving the ensemble the perfume of something unexpected."

In 1990, brothers Evgueni and Sacha Galperine relocated to France, from their native Russia, to complete the classical music training they’d begun in Moscow. Soon after arriving in Paris, Evgueni was drawn to composing film scores while still studying symphonic composition and electro-acoustic music at the National Conservatory (CNSM) in Paris. Sacha turned to rock and electronic music after receiving a first prize for violin performance at the Conservatory of Versailles.

For several years, Evgueni and Sacha have pooled their respective talents and experience to create music for cinema. Their exceptionally broad musical palette, knowledge of cinema and distinctive sound, has rapidly won the duo the notice of directors from diverse origins and genres. Examples of their work include scores for Loveless by Andrey Zvyagintsev, The Past by Asghar Farhadi, The Wizard of Lies by Barry Levinson, The Family by Luc Besson, Corpus Christi by Jan Komasa, By the Grace of God by François Ozon and Beanpole by Kantemir Balagov.

The Galperines have also scored a number of acclaimed TV shows and limited series including The Undoing by Susanne Bier (HBO), the French hit series Le Baron Noir by Ziad Doueri, and the recent Scenes From a Marriage by Hagai Levi (HBO).

2021 sees the brothers working on two of the most remarkable European films: Happening by Audrey Diwan (Golden Lion at Venice IFF) and Murina by Antoneta Alamat Kusijanovic (The Camera d’Or at Cannes IFF).

Ubisoft: "Far Cry® 6: Complete Music" (Original Game Soundtrack) music by Pedro Bromfman

Brazilian composer Pedro Bromfman, perhaps best known for his music form Narcos and Robocop, is providing the score for the Far Cry® 6, the next entry in Ubisoft's critically acclaimed narrative-driven video game series.

For the new entry in the long-running series, Bromfman creates music that is drenched in lush soundscapes, driving percussion, processed organic instruments and a ton of synthesizers. The game takes place in the fictional country of Yara, and the music reflects its surroundings with roots in traditional Latin American and Caribbean music, while being completely free to experiment with contemporary sounds, elements and techniques.

Bromfman brings the listener into the evocative world of Far Cry® 6, marked by expanding synths wrapped around dark-cloaked strings with a pulse that continues to build throughout. His score for Far Cry® 6 has a clear artistic vision, with distinctive, haunting melodies and character themes, fully immersing the listener. He calls it "a journey full of beauty, violence, adrenaline and passion," and it’s hard to disagree with those descriptions once the entirety of the score is taken in.

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Bromfman has been writing, playing and producing ‘Music For Images’ for nearly twenty years. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Pedro has worked as a session musician, music producer and arranger, before his passion for film scores brought him to Los Angeles.

Milan Records: "LAMB" music by Tóti Guðnason

Milan Records today releases LAMB (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK) an album of music composed by Icelandic composer and guitarist TÓTI GUÐNASON for A24’s newest folk thriller. Available everywhere now, the album features score music written by Guðnason for the terrifying debut feature from writer-director Valdimar Jóhannsson set in the Icelandic wilds. Having worked alongside his sister Hildur Guðnadóttir on her Oscar®-winning original score for Joker and with Ólafur Arnalds on his BAFTA-winning soundtrack to Broadchurch, Tóti Guðnason makes his debut as lead composer with Lamb. A dark and unnatural folktale for the ages, Lamb is available in theaters now from A24.

“Lamb was initially intended to be completely without a score, and I feel that is a humbling starting point for a composer,” says Tóti Guðnason of his work on the film. “Growing up in the north of Iceland I’m very familiar with the feeling of rural silence. That feeling is extraordinarily well portrayed by Valdimar Jóhannsson in Lamb and I did my best to play into it while respecting it. My responsibility was to create something more fitting than silence, and silence can be the greatest of sounds.”

A childless couple in rural Iceland make an alarming discovery one day in their sheep barn. They soon face the consequences of defying the will of nature, in this dark and atmospheric folktale, the striking debut feature from director Valdimar Jóhannsson.

Tóti Guðnason (Þórarinn Guðnason) is a composer and guitarist from Reykjavík, Iceland. Lamb is his first score as a sole composer after having worked as an arranger and composer's assistant with a variety of renowned artists. Some notable work includes the Oscar-winning original score for Joker (2019) by his sister Hildur Guðnadóttir, BAFTA-winning soundtrack for Broadchurch (2015) by Ólafur Arnalds, and score for Netflix series Katla (2021) by Högni Egilsson.

Tóti graduated in classical composition from the Iceland University of the Arts and has been a touring musician both with his art metal band Agent Fresco and the late Jóhann Jóhannsson. Working closely with Jóhannsson on various film and studio works, Tóti contributed both musical direction and arrangements for his pieces. Agent Fresco quickly found international notice and have become a household name in the progressive experimental music scene.
