Milan Records: "NIGHT TEETH" (SOUNDTRACK FROM THE NETFLIX FILM) music by Drum & Lace and Ian Hultquist

NIGHT TEETH (SOUNDTRACK FROM THE NETFLIX FILM) by Drum & Lace and Ian Hultquist (Dickinson, Good Girls). Available everywhere today, the album features the duo’s synth-infused original score that plays like a continuous mixtape throughout the stylish and suspense-filled vampire thrill ride. The gritty soundtrack plays like a roadmap of Los Angeles, with each city having its own signature sound and introducing new characters along the way.

Directed by Adam Randall and starring Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Debby Ryan, Lucy Fry, Raúl Castillo, Alfie Allen, Alexander Ludwig, Sydney Sweeney and Megan Fox, Night Teeth is now available for streaming globally on Netflix – click HERE to watch.

Of the soundtrack, co-composers Drum & Lace and Ian Hultquist say, "We were so thrilled to be brought on to create the score for Night Teeth. From our very first conversation with Adam (Randall, Director), we knew this film would give us the chance to create something unique, exciting, and propulsive to complement the film's pacing and rhythm. We landed somewhere between electronica, synth-pop, and hip-hop, and we're really excited for folks to hear it in the film. We spent a lot of time to make sure that our score could hit as hard as all the excellent needle drops.  We loved that everyone on the music and film teams were so invested in this film and wanted to see it through as best as they could – this meant we got to work closely with Adam, the producers, our Music Supervisor Rob Lowry, super-star Music Editor Ben Zales, and the fantastic team at Netflix. We hope everyone enjoys this ride through Los Angeles as much as we enjoyed working on it!”

To earn some extra cash, quirky college student Benny (Jorge Lendeborg, Jr.) moonlights as a  chauffeur for one night. His task: drive two mysterious young women (Debby Ryan and Lucy Fry) around Los Angeles for a night of party hopping. Taken captive by his clients' charm, he soon learns that his passengers have their own plans for him – and an insatiable thirst for blood. As his night spins out of control, Benny is thrust into the middle of a clandestine war that pits rival tribes of vampires against the protectors of the human world, led by his brother (Raúl Castillo), who will stop at nothing to send them back into the shadows. With sunrise fast approaching, Benny is forced to choose between fear and temptation if he wants to stay alive and save the City of Angels.

Drum & Lace, aka Sofia degli Alessandri-Hultquist, is an Italian composer and performer that creates music for film and media. Melding together sampled field recordings, chamber instruments and lush layers of synths, she creates densely textural and beat-heavy music, greatly drawing from film music, music concrete and modern electronica. Her ambient and chamber work also gathers great inspiration from nature and natural sound, as well as the juxtaposition of unlikely sounds with one another.

Her feature-length film scoring credits include HBO documentary ‘At the Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastics Scandal’ (dir. Erin Lee Carr), the noir-thriller ‘Deadly Illusions’ (dir. Anna Elizabeth James, Netflix), and upcoming film ‘Night Teeth’ (dir. Adam Randall, Netflix). Television credits include AppleTV+ Original Series ‘Dickinson’ (created by Alena Smith), NBC’s ‘Good Girls’ (created by Jenna Bans & Bill Krebs), and the upcoming Amazon series ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ (created by Sara Goodman).

Often including elements of spatial audio and sound installation, some of Drum & Lace’s more notable performances include The Echo Society VI: Family (Los Angeles, CA), Digital Discovery Festival for National Sawdust (New York, NY), a quadraphonic interactive performance at LA Central Library's Taper Auditorium with Suzanne Ciani (Los Angeles, CA), and Moogfest 2019 (Durham, NC). Drum & Lace is currently working on her first solo LP, due out in early 2022.
