Wild Eye Releasing has opened The Last House for visitors.  Director Sean Cain (Silent Night, Zombie Night, Jurassic City) has brought together a star-studded cast at an address many would like to visit, but none will be allowed to leave.  Jason Mewes (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), Ezra Buzzington (The Hills Have Eyes, Fight Club) and Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp, Return to Sleepaway Camp) headline this dark and sadistic thriller about the horrors at a mansion in the Hollywood Hills.  The Last House will be available on DVD and VOD nationwide November 24th.

After his escort girlfriend is kidnapped by a trio of escaped mental patients, a young man attempts to find her before their sadistic game plan can be realized. 

Sometimes this films will surprise you by being very entertaining and then sometimes... this one was one you will enjoy with the crazy cast of characters.

Wild Eye Releasing Unchains The Horror Network October 27

Wild Eye Releasing: A Plague So Pleasant

Wild Eye Releasing has announced a date change for their latest cinematic epidemic.  A Plague So Pleasant will now infect home entertainment systems beginning September 29th.  A more dangerous strain than recent efforts, the film has been hailed by undead aficionados as "a miraculous accomplishment" (Zombie Guide Magazine), "an Excellent, Original Zombie Movie" (ZMDB.com), and "so much better than the average straight to video zombie travesty" (The Rotting Zombie).

In the near future, zombies have become a protected, endangered species, held in captivity and legally wandering the streets free from harm by the living. Wild Eye Releasing: QUEEN CRAB [DVD]

Wild Eye Releasing has announced the September 29th DVD and VOD release of Queen Crab.  The latest film from cult auteur Brett Piper (They Bite, The Screaming Dead, Raiders of the Living Dead) Queen Crab is a loving, action-packed tribute to the classic days of practical stop-motion animation, evoking the days of Ray Harryhausen creature features.   

With recent successes such as Sharknado and some type of Super-Octopus vs. Something, well here is a film that is a little more simple.... Simple in the sense of the budget, not that in this film that is a bad thing. Here we get a giant crab and it's world gets rocked when and only when it's privacy becomes public knowledge. I am not saying you are going to be mislead here, the acting is okay, the story is okay... you really are here for the Queen Crab.  I would watch this again, just fun and doesn't take itself too serious.

Wild Eye Releasing has announced the April 21st DVD release of film festival hit Jonah Lives.  Hailed as "a fine cinematic debut" by Horrornews.net,  Jonah Lives stars B-movie legend Brinke Stevens (Nightmare Sisters, Teenage Exorcist, Bad Girls from Mars) as a woman who thought she'd gotten away with murder, until some bored teens with a ouija board accidentally bring her buried secret back with a vengeance.  The film was shot in Fall River, MA, the home of Lizzie Borden and site of the infamous Borden family murders that remain unsolved to this day.

A group of suburban teenagers find themselves embroiled in a story of revenge from beyond the grave.  Foolishly playing with a ouija board, they contact the spirit of a murdered man. Jonah rips his way out of the earth in the form of a murderous zombie, intent on avenging his untimely demise. Before he can rip out the heart of his killer, he must claim the lives of the teens that disturbed his rest.

The DVD release of Jonah Lives will exclusively include a behind the scenes featurette with Brinke Stevens, a Fall River post-screening celebration featurette, teasers and trailers.

Wild Eye Releasing's Horror Anthology "Hi-8: Horror Independent 8"... Right Now!

Wild Eye Releasing has announced the December 16th DVD release of Hi-8: Horror Independent 8.  The eight-part anthology brings together some of the most recognizable names in home video horror of the past 30 years, capturing the creative essence of low budget, shot-on-video film-making.

Called "The Expendables of shot on video horror" by Horror Hound Magazine, the directors for Hi-8 are Tim Ritter (Killing Spree), Brad Sykes (Camp Blood), Marcus Koch (100 Tears), Ron Bonk (The Vicious Sweet), Donald Farmer (Demon Queen), Todd Sheets (Zombie Bloodbath), Chris Seaver (Mulva), and Tony Masiello (SOV: The True Independents), who have returned to 80s and 90s style, gore-laced storytelling. All eight segments feature only practical effects and all directors were forbidden to use any post-Internet technology, including HD cameras, green screen, CGI or found footage.   Like the V/H/S series, Hi-8 brings together independent genre filmmakers to spin tales of terror on tape.

It's a showing of what it used to be like when cameras were just cameras and phones just dialed... I say dial "M" for Marvelous, Messy and Mayhem... it's worth watching if you enjoy this style.

Wild Eye Releasing: The Perfect House is an anthology inspired by the styles of three of the most famous time periods and sub genres of horror. Each vignette reveals a dark side to suburban anonymity through three different homeowners of the same house.   A young couple are now looking to buy the house, but the violent acts of the previous doomed occupants are reawakened for them to experience. I loved this, it was shot on great old VHS quality and transferred from the same and for that it was very enjoyable. Listening to the hopes and dreams of these pretty ladies, remembering how many impacted my life so many years ago... making my the freak I am today.

The Fright Land amusement park is on the verge of closing its doors forever. But the park's owner, Hyde (Doug Bradley, Hellraiser), has one last plan to sell more tickets...murder. Hiring two backwoods maniacs to break into the park and hack and slash all his employees, Hyde thinks these killings will create a media sensation, but he has just unleashed a horror that no one can survive.

Okay in some weird way I enjoyed this film, it had held my interest for the whole wild ride. I think it lacked something, but in return it paid homage to some of the classic 80's slasher films.. you know the ones. I found the action a little bit pushed from characters with the "hey hear that" let's go take a look kind of direction. Gore is fun.  Everyone had spunk, so once again... I am glad to have watched it. Bonus was the drop in, yet brief appearance of Doug Bradley of Hellraiser fame.... and Nivek Ogre [Skinny Puppy] who I met last year. He plays well... you need to watch, he does not disappoint.
