Today is the First Loves Blogfest! Your first movie, first music (song/band,) first book, and first person. Four loves, one blogfest!
Brought to you to one of my great friends "Alex J. Cavanaugh" who always seems to bring the best out of everyone. So we are to tell you our first couple of things that we love and I will do that right here, right now.
-Jeremy [Retro-Zombie]
MOVIE: My first love for a movie that I can remember that I was very young and that is Disney's "Pete's Dragon" [1977] and I felt a genuine compassion for Elliot the dragon. To me he was not animated he was like an invisible friend we all had, here it just less invisible to the town of Passamaquoddy.

MUSIC: With the amount of scores/soundtracks/music I have it was a very difficult choice to pick one, so I am going with that is score music that changed my ears forever. Now I was going to say "Pete's Dragon" again, cause right after the movie my parents bought me the Album [LP]. This had heavy rotation in my kid years, but there is one score/soundtrack that is that one that made me the music fan I am today... "Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi" [1983]. John Williams is... well he is just that, one of the composers that will be forever remembered.
BOOK: I remember reading only a few books and Disney was one thing I related to so I read many of their releases, but it was always "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo" and "Herbie Goes to Bananas" I went back to time and time again. Boy I was a wholesome kid, I wonder what happened... it must of been that first love... when I became the rebel.
LOVE: Now I am not sure if this counts because I have loved so many women in my life that I don't want to hurt any of my ladies [say that in a deep voice]. I am going to go with the first crush I had and I go back to the kid again, I think it's safe. Okay the girl I remember was unfortunately gone before I knew... sadness here. I was crushing on Darla Jean Hood from the "Our Gang" or "Little Rascals", I know weird huh. I was like four years old and my dad let us watch the skits and how was I to know.

John Williams is indeed a composer to be remembered.
Pete's Dragon is such a great movie. Great now I have that dang song stuck in my head. Ahhhhh!
Awww, so cute. I loved the Herbie books too. I loved the StarWars movie better then the soundtrack though.
I remember Pete's Dragon. Awesome film. Great first love too. Darla was adorable. She had spunk too!
Great picks! And John Williams' music is awesome!
Oh I so love all the things you mentioned, except your first crush. That was too cute! Thanks for commenting and visiting my blog! I really like yours...
Your first crush was definitely cute. And I agree with you and everyone else on John Williams.
What a fun blast from the past! I loved the music from Pete's dragon, more than the story. And Darla was precious. Sure, she could always do better than Alfalfa, but he loved her so. Great pick. [Yet another shining star taken way too young.]

I loved Pete's Dragon, too!! That magician/potion guy was hilarious!
John Williams is fantastic. That's cool you listened to the album. My parents bought me Peter and the Wolf and I listened to that, fascinated that each animal was a different instrument.
Some great memories there!
Those are awesome choices! John Williams really is brilliant! :)
I think my brother had that Herbie book. I didn't read it, but I remember the bull on the cover.
John Williams is awesome. 'nuff said.
I don't think I'm familiar with Pete's Dragon but Return of the Jedi is a classic! -- I never watch it tho, lol.
Those Herbie books sound cute and I'd be surprised to find anyone who doesn't have a favorite character from The Little Rascals.

Can't say I know who the 'female' in your First Love post is? But I think you played a safe one there ;)
As for the rest, love the music selection, but the Herbie films just left me cold.
i haven't thought about The Little Rascals in ages. we used to watch repeats when i was in high school.
Herbie must've warped your tender little mind!
Thanks for participating in the blogfest, Jeremy.
How have I never seen this movie!!! And I love the Little Rascals!
Love your choices for movies, music and books. Pete's Dragon is a wonderful story. Return of the Jedi is a great soudtrack. And Darla Jean . . . that's sweet.

John Williams IS...Agreed! He was the subject of many projects I had in college.
Return of the Jedi was my favorite of all the Star Wars movies
Your first love was a cutey ;)
That is so sweet about Darla. How adorable.
Pete's Dragon. That is a good one. I forgot about that movie. Great choice.
Pete's Dragon...wow. That was a favorite of mine too, even though it wasn't really popular when I was a kid (all my friends preferred the animated Disney movies). I wish my VCR worked because I have the VHS and now I want to watch it! ;-)
every time I think of Pete's Dragon, I start singing - We got a bill of sale right here - and picture Elliot knocking them into the water
Your's is the second vote I've seen for Pete's Dragon today. Loved that soundtrack too.
Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi is a great soundtrack. You know, I love to write listening to soundtracks.
All great choices. I remember Pete's Dragon. I loved that movie.
Little Rascals!! I haven't thought about them in so long! Thanks for bringing back that memory. I don't ever remember reading the Herbie books but remember the original movie well. Great first loves post :)
Those are some great choices for your firsts:) Especially "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" score. Wonderful!
Great choices! Love your story about Darla Jean Hood--so sweet. :)
Your crush is so sweet:) Never listened to the music from Return of the Jedi... but I was never a big Star Wars fan...
Awe, too sweet. I forgot all about Pete's Dragon. I'll have to show that one to my kids. Great movie.
Pete's Dragon??? Wow I haven't heard that title in a while. Great choice and that is so awesome you like Darla. I didn't watch the old show, but I loved the 90s movie!
I love all your loves! And I hate that George Lucas changed the music at the end of ROTJ. Travesty.
I totally forgot about Pete's Dragon! My parents put that on for me a lot when I was young. And John Williams is the best of the best!
Some great choices too! Pete's Dragon, great!
The Return of the Jedi score is pretty great :)

Darla was an excellent choice. And she was way too good for Alfalfa!
I also loved the Herbie The Love Bug movies! Cute story about your crush! Julie
Yay, Pete's Dragon and Herbie! I love Pete's Dragon. I had no idea they did books out of Herbie, but I fondly remember the movies. Wonder if they would bore my kids. Aw, Darla. Did she die young??

Hey, my 'deep voice' is broken. Perhaps you need to do an audio blog so we can hear you say it!
John Williams. Legend.
Great picks.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Enjoyed reading your first loves. Love Herbie Goes Bananas.
I can't believe you mentioned Darla. I had thought about her myself. When I was about 4 or 5 she was absolutely dreamy to me.
