A group of teenage boys out to give their girlfriends a good scare on Homecoming night, which also happens to be Halloween, head to an abandoned house in an out-of-the-way fruit orchard, where they become part of a real-life urban legend! The film stars Jennifer Tilly (Bound), Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club), Jennifer Freeman (You Got Served), and Jonathan Breck (the Jeepers Creepers films). THE CARETAKER was directed by Bryce Olson (Be My Baby), and produced and written by Jackie Olson (producer of Already Dead and La cucina), with Brynn McQuade (Lynch, Dead Write) and Allison Wilke (La cucina, Dead Write) also producing.

I love the coverart for this and there is nothing I like better than a film set on Halloween!!! I find it so interesting though that no set designer can ever get the season for Halloween right. Halloween II directed by Rick Rosenthal and even John Carpenter's had green leaves on the trees and this one shows the trees in dead of winter. Someone give me a job as a set designer for the next Halloween film. It will definitely be something along the lines of TRICK 'R TREAT, which I do not recall if they got the trees right but they sure got all of the imagery PERFECT. Thanks for bringing my attention to this film, with interesting stars by the way.
Where do you get a designer pitch fork like that? I want one!
01. i think they sold those pitchforks back in the 80s by ronco where it helped pull out the weeds...
02. i have know idea how good this film is, i am interested cause with a cast like this where you have to tell people your biggest accomplishment was like 25 years ago... you wonder haven't they done anything since? now i am only pointing out the mainstream actors...
03. why can't horrors movies be on like say "a week before halloween" or "the week after halloween"... heck how about "three months before halloween"... always on the day... but true in a perfect designer's day... it's the mood, not the reality, it's always not quite right... that is why i love them, good or bad... lower budgeted films give you all they can to give you something...
