Silva Screen Records: "Marco Beltrami: Music For Film"

This is the first ever overview of Marco Beltrami's film music work, selected and approved by the artist.

Supported by the Film Fest Gent’s World Soundtrack Awards, Marco Beltrami - Music For Film is the fifth release from the series on Silva Screen Records. Every year since 1982, an outstanding film music composer is invited to present their work during the annual World Soundtrack Awards Gala & Concert and this year their spotlight falls on Marco Beltrami. As part of the celebrations and in advance of the concert to be held on 18th October, Film Fest Gent and partner Brussels Philharmonic have recorded some of the very best music of Beltrami's scoring career.

Marco Beltrami, two-time Oscar nominated is one of the most brilliant film composers of his generation, known for his unique collaborations with some of the world’s most respected and iconic filmmakers such as Kathryn Bigelow, James Mangold, Guillermo Del Toro, Wes Craven, Bertrand Tavernier, Tommy Lee Jones and Jean-François Richet.

The acclaimed American composer recently scored the critically-acclaimed box-office hit A Quiet Place, which was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Score and shortlisted for Best Score for the Oscars, Velvet Buzzsaw for Netflix, and National Geographic’s 2019 Oscar-winning documentary Free Solo for which he recently won an Emmy.

Over the past few years, Silva Screen’s Music For Film series has brought into focus the best film cues from Carter Burwell, Terence Blanchard, Alan Silvestri and Ryuichi Sakamoto. [http://www.silvascreenusa.com]
