Varèse Sarabande: "L.A. CONFIDENTIAL" Music by Jerry Goldsmith [long-awaited LP]

Varèse Sarabande announces the long-awaited LP debut of L.A. CONFIDENTIAL – Original Motion Picture Score. The black vinyl release is a VareseSarabande.com exclusive and limited to 500 copies. The last great noir score of the 20th century dives into the glitz and grime of 1950’s Los Angeles as envisioned by legendary master composer, Jerry Goldsmith.

“Goldsmith’s score is now considered a masterpiece nearly on the level of his landmark ‘Chinatown’. Jerry Goldsmith would have turned 90 in 2019. His music continues to be revered, celebrated and performed all over the world. I am thrilled to see this score, which was absolutely ideal for vinyl from the very beginning, finally debut on the classic LP format. A priceless slice of vintage Los Angeles!” as Robert Townson, VP of A&R, explains.

Jerry Goldsmith (Best Original Score) earned one of the 9 Academy nominations L.A. CONFIDENTIAL received in 1998. Kim Basinger (Best Supporting Actress) and the writers, Curtis Hanson and Brian Heigeland, (Best Adapted Screenplay) took home Oscars for the film. Preserved in the National Film Registry by the United States Library of Congress, L.A. CONFIDENTIAL continues to be one of the best films set in the criminal underbelly of Los Angeles.
