Milan Records: "ALL TOGETHER NOW" (MUSIC FROM THE NETFLIX FILM) music by KEEGAN DEWITT

Milan Records announces the August 28 release of ALL TOGETHER NOW (MUSIC FROM THE NETFLIX FILM) by composer and singer-songwriter KEEGAN DEWITT.  Available for preorder now, the album features music written by DeWitt for Netflix’s newest film starring Auli’i Cravalho (Moana).  The project reunites DeWitt with director Brett Haley, having previously worked together on titles including this year’s Netflix film All The Bright Places and 2018 Sundance favorite Hearts Beat Loud.  All Together Now will premiere globally on Netflix Friday, August 28.

Of the soundtrack, composer KEEGAN DEWITT says, “Brett works at such a clip, that it often feels like we are barely wrapping one project before stepping into another. Fresh of the full orchestral score of All The Bright Places, All Together Now offered a really wonderful refresh in terms of its tender simplicity.  This was such a raw and heartfelt project that we made sure to tend to it with a gentle and loving hand, walking that tightrope that is so true of family relationships.  From the drifting synths to the antithetic pounding drums, the score is often taking its lead from an amazing ensemble of actors, some beautifully agile cinematography from Rob, and of course Brett’s deft directing touch.”

Making its debut alongside today’s pre-order is an original track featuring the vocals of All Together Now lead Auli’I Cravalho – listen to “Feels Like Home” here.  Well known as the voice of Disney’s Moana, Auli’I once again brings her emotive vocal stylings to the track, performing the new track live on Entertainment Tonight – watch here.

“It was a rare and special opportunity to sit down and begin writing a song knowing that someone as deep and powerful as Auli’i would be singing,” adds composer KEEGAN DEWITT.  “I tried to embrace the challenge of creating space – simple chords with air between them, allowing space for her beautiful voice, her nuanced performance and her indelible presence as a person.”

ABOUT ALL TOGETHER NOW
Amber Appleton (Auli’i Cravalho) remains an optimist even when her personal life is far less stable than it appears on the surface. A musically gifted high school student with aspirations to attend Carnegie Mellon, Amber balances her beloved high school drama club helmed by Mr. Franks (Fred Armisen) with working long hours at a donut shop to help support herself and her down-on-her-luck single mom (Justina Machado). She also spends time at the local retirement community, giving care and attention to her favorite pessimistic resident (Carol Burnett). When new obstacles present themselves that threaten her dreams, Amber must learn to lean on the strength of her chosen family to move forward.  Directed by Brett Haley (All The Bright Places, Hearts Beat Loud) and based on Matthew Quick’s novel “Sorta Like a Rock Star,” ALL TOGETHER NOW is a story of finding hope in the darkest of times. The film co-stars Rhenzy Feliz, Judy Reyes, Taylor Richardson, C.S. Lee, Anthony Jacques Jr., and Gerald Isaac Waters.
