The Mandalorian is an American space Western streaming television series created by Jon Favreau for Disney+. It premiered with the service's launch in November 2019, and is the first live-action series in the Star Wars franchise. It begins five years after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983) and stars Pedro Pascal as the title character, a lone bounty hunter who is hired to retrieve "The Child".

For his work on the 2018 superhero film Black Panther, he won the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media and the Academy Award for Best Original Score, and he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score. Göransson is also known for his work on American TV series like Community, Happy Endings, New Girl, and The Mandalorian, winning the Prime-time Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series for the last.
