Breaking Glass Pictures: "A-HOLES" [edited] DVD

Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired North American rights to Peter Vack’s visceral, gross-out directorial debut A-HOLES. Breaking Glass acquired rights to the film in July in a deal negotiated between Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff and Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films. The film is slated for a theatrical release from Factory 25 followed closely by a DVD/VOD release from Breaking Glass in the Fall of 2017.

In true modern-day John Waters fashion, and described as “one of the most disgusting movies ever made” (Indiewire) that “pushes the boundaries of decency & artistry to breaking point” (Movie Pilot), A-HOLES held its world premiere at SXSW where the film won the first ever Adam Yauch Award, an award given in honor of a filmmaker whose work strives to be wholly its own, without regard for norms or desire to conform. The film went on to play Calgary Underground Film Festival, Florida Film Festival, Oak Cliff Film Festival, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Perth Revelation Film Festival, and the Fantasia Festival.

Written, directed, and starring Peter Vack (MFA, Mozart in the Jungle, Lace Crater) alongside his real-life family, including sister Betsey Brown (“The Carrie Diaries”, Muckland) in the atypical lead role, A-HOLES also stars Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist). A-HOLES follows recovering addicts Adah and Aaron who are struggling to stay sober. After meeting in their psychoanalyst’s waiting room, they fall in love, relapse on poppers, and become the biggest assholes in New York City.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with everyone at Breaking Glass Pictures, a smart and sensitive group, perfect for releasing my film about A-holes.”, said director Peter Vack.

'Very few filmmakers have been able to blend visceral imagery with comedy and modern social commentary the way Peter Vack has with A-HOLES”, said Michael Repsch, SVP of Distribution & Sales at Breaking Glass. “Breaking Glass Pictures is ecstatic to be a part of this wildly different film experience that will surely find its way to cult status, as it is equal parts John Waters and Gaspar Noe - Peter is a pioneer and we can't wait to share his work with audiences.”
