Kino Lorber: "PORTO" with Anton Yelchin and Lucie Lucas (Blu-ray and DVD)

Kino Lorber is proud to announce the Blu-ray and DVD release of Porto, directed by Gabe Klinger, and executive produced by Jim Jarmusch. This critically-acclaimed romantic drama stars Anton Yelchin and Lucie Lucas as a pair of expatriates sharing a brief but intimate encounter while staying in the ancient Portuguese city of Porto.

Porto was an Official Selection of the SXSW Film Festival, New Directors - Festival de San Sebastian, BFI London Film Festival, and Rotterdam International Film Festival. Released theatrically by Kino Lorber, Porto opened in New York in November 2017, followed by engagements in national markets such as Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago and Denver, among others.

Set to street on March 13, 2018, Blu-ray and DVD, Porto comes packed with special features including audio commentary by director Gabe Klinger, the trailer, outtakes, a booklet essay by Michael Sicinski, a making-of documentary, Portuguese News Report, Super 8 footage with Chantal Akerman's unused voiceover, and the documentary, Double Play: James Benning and Richard Linklater (2013, 70 min.), also directed by Gabe Klinger.

Porto is a luminous love story that features one of Anton Yelchin's best, and most heartbreaking performances. Jake (Anton Yelchin) and Mati (Lucie Lucas) are two expats who experience a brief but intimate connection in the ancient Portuguese city of Porto. He's an American loner exiled from his family. She's a student from France embroiled in an affair with one of her professors. After spotting each other from a distance at an archaeological site and then again at a train station and a cafe, Jake works up the courage to approach Mati and they embark on a night of carefree intimacy. This romantic encounter is viewed from years later, both characters still haunted by the powerful connection they shared.
