So here is the chance for me too share four of my favorite things in a world wide event from Alex Cavanaugh 7th Blogfest named "Genre Favorites Blogfest, September 17, 2012". Rules are simple "List your favorite genre of: Movie, Music, Books and a guilty pleasure genre from any of the three categories!
So I thought why not cover things in this year of "2012" instead of some of my life altering memories and less scaring you all on what might fascinate my brain.
So my choices for the 2012:
MOVIE [ACTION-ADVENTURE]: The Avengers... I find it difficult to see films anymore that do not just throw me into a state of forgetting I am in a theater. I find that I was completely taken away into the world where Joss Whedon is king and his servants went by the name of Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawk-eye, Black Widow, Nick Fury and Captain America. I might be alone on this one, but some of you must agree?
MUSIC [OLD SCHOOL-MODERN TWIST]: Rob Zombie [2012] Mondo Sex Head... I don't like regular music anymore there is really nothing grabbing my attention, but I don't look for music anymore. I just have so much now, this release from Rob Zombie just is remixed versions of old stuff... maybe that is why I like it.
BOOKS [COMIC]: Smallville - Season 11 [Comic Book Series]... Smallville [tv series] ended on a high note for me, it brought what you wanted to see to life. It also made it so you wanted to know more, someone had the right idea to bring it to life in a comic book form... a continuation of the story that so needed it... yes I am a nerd and a fan.
MUSIC [SCORE MUSIC]: Intrada's "The Shadow" [2Cd] Expanded score... I loved this film in the nineties and the score was and still one of my favorites today. When I found out that this was coming out, I knew I needed it in my collection.
I think I have a very simple set of things, maybe you all agree with my choices... it's wonderful that we have things we love and that is why we are here. Thank you for stopping by and for Alex for making magic again.

Unique twist on the blogfest! The Avengers - is there any other choice? And is that woman in Zombie's latest video? Crap, I need to catch it.
Thanks for participating in my blogfest, Jeremy!
And I'm sure your brain wouldn't scare me...
Avengers rocked. Out on DVD today. Yay.
Great choices. Off to investigate the Zombies.
Really enjoyed The Avengers too. I love getting lost in movies and the worlds that are created :)
Still haven't seen Avengers. I know I suck! :)
Now I have something to look forward too -- still would love to know the brain -- just saying, might be a good thing for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Some great choices for favorites! Can't wait for Green Arrow to start this fall!
I find it interesting that you were a SMALLVILLE fan. I liked that show. I finally saw AVENGERS, and was not disappointed.
I would've figured you'd put a twist on things. My wife and I usually go for the Action/Adventure genre--she doesn't like movies with too much talking.

The Avengers! Needless to say anything else... I love it!
It's been very interesting to learn about everyone's tastes. I enjoyed The Avengers too.
We're currently gearing up to decorate my son's bedroom with an Avengers theme. He found a 6 foot square poster on Ebay!
Yay for The Avengers! Love that movie, though there was no romance there lol
I like your take and twist on it. It was hard narrowing it down to the most favorites, yours are great!
Hey Jeremy! I STILL haven't seen The Avengers, which I need to rectify. Hopefully it will come to the dollar theater soon. Cool blog--I'm a new follower.
I used to read and collect comic books. I don't do that much anymore. Did you like Watchmen? And are you excited about the CW's attempt at a Wonder Woman series? I think they are gonna follow the successful "Smallville" formula.
Hey, Jeremy,
No, haven't seen Avengers either, but will, and I will keep an open mind to more metal-type music.
Superman is a long time hero of mine, too. (my older daughter worked as an extra -background work- on several of the Smallville TV series which were filmed here in Vancouver).
I like comic book hero movies, hubs does too!
I wish I had my comic books. I collected some great ones as a kid. I could probably buy a couple new cars with them. Sigh.
I'm not too into action/adventure movies, but my husband and daughters love them. :)
It's been a while since I've read an comic books, but I used to read the action ones along with others like Archie and Jughead.
I found it difficult to narrow all my favourites. I do like your comic book choices.
Comic books! I'm thinking Sunday morning on the floor when I was a kid and the newspaper.
Nancy
Interesting choices. I love movie scores, probably not the same you as you, but a great score takes me back to a great movie just listening to it.
Very cool picks. Would you believe that I haven't seen The Avengers yet? I know...my bad.
Action/adventure is my favorite movie genre as well. The Avengers was such an awesome movie, I loved it!! :)

I enjoy movie scores. It's great background music for writing.
Oooo... I want to listen to that score!
And new follower here... so glad to be connected! Yay for Alex, bringing awesome peeps together ;)
My family and I really enjoyed watching the Avengers. Very cool!
Score music is my favorite writing music. I don't often use music, but when I do, soundtracks top my list.
I totally dig Rob Zombie!
Avengers was my favourite movie of the year. So glad they got Joss Whedon to do that.
Allison (Geek Banter)
Love Joss Whedon. Believe it or not... I haven't seen the Avengers yet. Shocked I know. I hadn't seen Captain America and I wanted to see all of them before I saw it. So, now I have to wait for it to come out on DVD. Sad, I know.
Avengers? Yes. Great choice with The Shadow. An underrated, but stylish film Jeremy.
I suspect I'm a lot older than you are...my super-hero phase peaked during the late 40s and early 50s when I read Superman comics. :D
I enjoy the hell out of Rob Zombie!

Haven't seen, watched or read any of these... yikes!!
New follower here, just trying to keep the ManCard :)
AVENGERS!!! Love me some Avengers!! :)
Great choices! I don't get to sit down with a good comic or graphic novel often enough any more.
I'll have to check out that remixed Rob Zombie. It's been awhile since I listened to him. Classic!
I think action/adventure is my second fave because I'm with you on wanting to forget when I go the movies. Great movies and great books can do that.
Action/adventure's great for escapism. Great choices!
Cool list! I love Rob Zombie's "Dragula!"
Avengers was an awesome film. I didn't think Mark Rufallo (did I spell that right?) would make a good Hulk, but he was AWESOME! I can't wait till the next movie!
I haven't seen Avengers, but the effects must be awesome! Thanks for visiting my blog, Jeremy!

I'm so behind on seeing movies. I need to catch up.
Thanks for visiting my blog. :)

The Avengers remains my favorite movie of the summer. Definitely a worthy pick.
Oh I loved your choices - original! I loved the Avengers (I do love me a superhero so whats not to love?) and you have intrigued me regarding the musical score.. Mm! :) X

I like the twist you included! Those are great choices :)
Love the avengers! Great twist, adding your own personal touch.
I'm not surprised by any of your choices. I like score music too but my favorite is John Williams. I haven't seen The Avengers yet but it does look like a good one
I've heard great things about Avengers - I guess I'm relegated to waiting for it on DVD release. Wait - that hasn't happened yet, has it?
I've not seen The Avengers, but I've heard it's worthy of seeing (even for a non-lover of those types of movies).
I like how you did your post for the blogfest! Great idea! Two of my brothers collect comics, and when we were younger, I'd read them in secret so they wouldn't get mad at me for touching their comics! :D
Loved how your choices mixed together with comic fantasy even making the music favorite!
I haven't seen the Avengers. Maybe when it comes out on video. It's much cheaper that way. :)
Avengers. Love it. And my hubby is a huge Robe Zombie fan. :)
What awesome choices! I loved The Avengers! It was so well done- I can see why you picked it as number 1! :)
~Jess
Loved the Avengers!
You have amazing taste - especially with the Smallville Comic Book Series. They ended the series absolutely perfectly.
I didn't know about the Expanded score of The Shadow. I will now have to check that out!
Am definitely going to check out your music choices. Intrigued. :)
Hi, Jeremy. Cool list. As a comic book guy myself these seem to be the days to be alive, don't they? After years of getting some of our favorite characters all wrong, it seems that they are really getting them right. I grew up with Marvel Comics and still have them.
Thanks for sharing.

Love Rob Zombie! Thanks for sharing!I am participating in the blogfest as well : ) (#127 Fairday's Blog!) ~ Jess
I had no idea that Smallville had been made into a comic ;) I also have not yet seen the whole TV series, though i did love watching it back in the day.
Score music is great!
Who didn't love the Avengers??
I need to check out that soundtrack :)
Avengers are awesome! Great picks. I'm trying to get my middle son to read comics with me. We are enjoying them.
I loved the Avengers. Saw it twice in the theaters.
Definitely some interesting choices listed here, Jeremy:)
avengers all the way! not many films show real character traits in super heroes, the snark was well done!
and i enjoyed your descriptions of your choices!
YES on avengers!! And now I have to go out and read smallville season 11, had no idea they made those!
Given the success of the Buffy season 8 comics I guess they kinda had to
I've still yet to watch the Avengers, but it's coming to TV here soon so will definitely look out for it! I did enjoy X-Men First Class though. Loved looking into the character's past to see how it affected their traits.
I like that collage of all the superheroes you posted. Thanks for sharing!
Oh I LOVED the Avengers. ^_^
I am one of the few that hasn't seen The Avengers. Gotta see it now!
Great choices
Great choices. Like that you have chosen the Avengers and graphic novels are also great, especially when you choose Smallville! You have intrigued me hearing that the story continues on!
My family are at the moment are re-watching the complete series, and are glued to the TV.
Yes, I forgot about the Avengers. Great list and recommendations (the Avengers was the only thing I recognized!)
"Only the Shadow knows..." lol! Jeremy, I absolutely LOVE The Avengers! Doesn't matter where my seat was anchored, I was having an adventure with them--best kinda movie! Loved my comics too, DC and Marvel when I was a kid. Could draw many of the characters and send them on their new adventures with me in charges.
To answer your question, yes I got and loved the CD. Thank you.
I too basque in the awesomeness that is Joss Whedon. X-men was great too!
I like music scores too. I have quite a few in my collection.
Dropping by from the Genre Blogfest.
Your favourites seem a bit ecclectic between the categories, but I can appreciate them all. :3
You have some really great choices. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Such great picks! I do love adventure movies like The Avengers too. :)
I'm late to the party, but fun to see your answers!
I used to love Rob Zombie when I was in college. Fun stuff to rock out to!!
Avengers comes out on video next week! Yes, I loved Avengers. My favorite Avenger being, of course, Iron Man. Wink.
Love me some old Rob Zombie, too. Haven't listened to anything recent (if he's done recent?), though.
Thanks for stopping by!
My Genre Favorites & Guilty Pleasures
