La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures proudly present acclaimed composer Ira Newborn’s (DRAGNET, UNCLE BUCK, MY BLUE HEAVEN, INNOCENT BLOOD) original motion picture scores to THE NAKED GUN TRILOGY (THE NAKED GUN, THE NAKED GUN 2 1/2 THE SMELL OF FEAR and THE NAKED GUN 33 1/3: THE FINAL INSULT) starring Leslie Nielsen, Priscilla Presley and George Kennedy, and directed by David Zucker (NAKED GUN, NAKED GUN 2 ½) and Peter Segal (NAKED GUN 33 1/3).
This 3-CD set features the original scores to all three NAKED GUN films, with the scores to the first two films remastered and greatly expanded beyond previous releases and the world-premiere release of NAKED GUN 33 1/3. Mr. Newborn’s robust orchestral scores to this classic comedy franchise, (created by the legendary ZAZ team of David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker), are a wondrous explosion of thrills, suspense, high-octane action and passionate romance – and then there’s that iconic big-band-swing NAKED GUN theme, as iconic, indelible and bigger-than-life than Lt. Frank Drebin himself. This collection features bonus tracks and songs from the films as well, including “I’m in to Something Good,” “I Guess I’m Just Screwed,” the Pia Zadora-performed Academy-Awards show-stopper “This Could be the Start of Something” and quite possibly the greatest rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” ever recorded, sung by opera great Enrico Pallazzo (in a never-before-heard prerecorded performance).
