Lionsgate: '71 The Cinematic Knock-Out Punch Arrives on Digital HD June 23 and on DVD and On Demand July 7

Breakout star Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) mesmerizes audiences with a powerful performance in the suspenseful action-thriller ‘71, arriving on Digital HD June 23rd from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Certified Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes, the film will follow on DVD (plus Digital) and On Demand on July 7th. Heralded by The Village Voice as “an excellent, tightly controlled thriller,” the “riveting” (Chicago Tribune) story of a young British soldier caught behind enemy lines in Northern Ireland earned an Official Selection at the Berlin, New York, Toronto and Sundance film festivals and was the winner of the Berlin Film Festival Prize of the Ecumenical Jury – Special Mention. 

`71 takes place over a single night in the life of a young British soldier (O’Connell) accidentally abandoned by his unit following a riot on the streets of Belfast in 1971. Unable to tell friend from foe, and increasingly wary of his own comrades, he must survive the night alone and find his way to safety through a disorienting, alien and deadly landscape.
