Lakeshore Records: "GOOD GIRLS" music by Ian Hultquist and Drum & Lace

Lakeshore Records is set to release Good Girls—Original Series Soundtrack digitally on July 23. The score by Ian Hultquist and Drum & Lace (AKA Sofia degli Alessandri-Hultquist), is a collection of synth-based tracks that have a light-hearted feel yet carry hefty emotional weight, are taken from the third and the fourth seasons.  The series written, executive produced and created by Jenna Bans stars Christina Hendricks, Retta and Mae Whitman.  NBC will air the series finale July 22.
“Good Girls” follows suburban moms Beth (Christina Hendricks), Ruby (Retta) and Annie (Mae Whitman) who, at a loss over how to solve their various crippling financial troubles, decide to rob a supermarket in a heist that attracts the attention of a local gang leader, Rio.

The Hultquists note: “As fans of the show, we were thrilled to join Good Girls for Seasons 3 & 4. It was an amazing opportunity to bring a new musical perspective to this series, and help tell the story of Beth, Annie & Ruby. Our co-showrunners, Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, helped push us to discover new sounds and arrangements in our efforts to "never sound like a tv show". We are so pleased we can celebrate the end of the series with this soundtrack release, collecting themes from the past two seasons.”

Melding together sampled field recordings, chamber instruments and lush layers of synths, she creates densely textural and beat-heavy music, greatly drawing from film music, music concrete and modern electronica. Her ambient and chamber work also gathers great inspiration from nature and natural sound, as well as the juxtaposition of unlikely sounds with one another.
Her composition work includes writing for various mediums, amongst them film, tv, dance, theater, fashion and advertising.
Her feature-length film scoring credits include HBO documentary "At The Heart of Gold- Inside the USA Gymnastics Scandal" (dir. Erin Lee Carr), “Deadly Illusions” (dir Anna Elizabeth James, Netflix) and upcoming film “Night Teeth” (dir Adam Randall, Netflix). Television credits include AppleTV+ Original Series "Dickinson" (created by Alena Smith) and season 3 and 4 of NBC “Good Girls” (created by Jenna Bans).
Drum & Lace’s performances often include elements of spatial audio and multimedia.
