Marvel Music/Hollywood Records releases Loki: Volume 2 (Episodes 4-6) from Marvel Studios’ “Loki” streaming exclusively on Disney+. Music is by composer Natalie Holt (“Victoria,” “Knightfall,” “Herself"). Album producers are Kevin Feige, Kate Herron & Dave Jordan.
Marvel Studios’ “Loki” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in the new Disney+ series taking place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs “Loki,” and Michael Waldron is head writer.
“Natalie Holt is an amazing composer,” says director Kate Herron. “Her influences are very exciting. The score is very layered and electronic with a dark, strange energy that is very much Loki.”
Holt added, “Getting to work in the MCU, and on a character like Loki, was such a gift. I have so enjoyed inhabiting this world, fleshing out stories and adding layers of emotion and meaning with music, and being a part of this exciting chapter in the MCU development.”
Natalie Holt is a multi-award winning British composer, known equally for large melodic orchestral arrangements and intimate, textural, and at times experimental, electro-acoustic compositions. Holt creates dramatic original scores for feature films, television drama and narrative-driven entertainment.
She received an Emmy® Award-nomination for PBS’ “Victoria,” for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series, a Best International Score Award at the Beijing International Film Festival in 2018, a Royal Television Society Award 2017 and a further nomination in 2020. Holt recently scored Netflix/Claudia Llosa’s drama feature, “Fever Dream,” starring María Valverde premiering this Autumn.
