RoboCop [2014]
Music by: Pedro Bromfman
Sony Classical
In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years, but have been forbidden for law enforcement in America. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance to build a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine.

Now before we string me up for a lynching... you have seen the trailers in the beginning and I thought the same thing. How could they, don't they know this is RoboCop... an ICON? I have since watched several more trailers and now the score hit my mailbox and I gotta say... I am really getting excited about this film. It's a different time for this, one where technology advancements in film might set this apart from the original film. I had a brief conversation with the composer Pedro Bromfman the other day, I gotta say again... the score is very good. Okay I said awesome, there was a very cool underlying beat that kept my attention and I have listen to it everyday. Pedro and I both agree, fans have to give this a chance... I know I am thrilled to have talked with Pedro and I am proud to know this score is AWESOME!
