So with the cool changes I bring you the first in the new series and composer  Frederik Wiedmann who was gracious enough to take part in this. I feel the people behind the music is just as important and interesting as the music itself. Frederik Wiedmann has been the lead composer in many scores and added his skills too many others. I wanted to thank him for assisting me on this project and the special gift he sent along with the questions. I wish him a world of success and hope his journey continues as we will hear his work for many years.

How did you get started in the field of music and how did that lead you to composing?
Frederik Wiedmann: The moment I heard John Barry's score to Dances with Wolves when I was 12 years old, I fell in love with the film music genre. This was my first soundtrack and probably to this time the most played soundtrack I have. Later on, I got to know german composer Nik Reich, who resided in my hometown (Augsburg), and really got to know the profession of a film composer, and wanted to do nothing else from this point on. After my studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, I moved to Los Angeles right away and got started in the field while working for veteran composer John Frizzell (ALien Resurrection, Office Space).

What are you working on now currently and what have you completed?
Frederik Wiedmann: "Green Lantern: The Animated Series" is currently in the works. This show is a Warner Brothers animation TV series for the cartoon network, and just had its debut a few weeks ago. We are doing Season 1 at the moment. I also just completed Dave Parker's (The Hills Run Red (2009)) new film called "Coldwater". This one is an ultra scary thriller - keep your eyes open for this film. I am also currently working on another Sci-Fi Channel TV movie - currently titled "Vampyre Nation".

In your circle of composers who do work with and what is the best part of your contributions?
Frederik Wiedmann: I mostly work alone. I like solitude when composing and find I can be more creative that way. I have collaborated with certain composers in the past though, like for example with John Frizzell on the Paramount film "Beneath", and my german friend Wolfram DeMarco on a german film called "Visus". Both projects turned out great and were a lot of fun.

Who inspires you musically and who do you listen to?
Frederik Wiedmann: I am immensely inspired by film composers Christophe Beck and James Newton Howard. From a more classical point of view, I can say that I have always considered Prokofiev and Stravinsky 2 of my biggest inspirations, as well as Arvo Paert. I am also influenced by the rock/pop genre, bands like Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins have always been my favorites.

Out of all your released work, which gives you the best feeling of accomplishment?
Frederik Wiedmann: That is a tough question that i probably can't answer correctly. I always feel like my latest score is the best one yet, but then when listening to them years later again, I still feel proud of the work. I am sure I will feel a great sense of accomplishment when the Green Lantern Series Season 1 is completed, just because it is such a large volume of immensely complex orchestral animation music. But I have yet to get there.

Walk us throughout a typical day?
Frederik Wiedmann: My typical day is waking up at 5 or 6 am - work for 3 hours before breakfast, then work some more, recording sessions usually happen in the afternoon, and occasionally I spend my evenings composing more, or spending some time with my wife and my baby boy.

The exciting story of the siege of Constantinople in 1453 is a Turkish national epic, and Faruk Aksoy's film makes this piece of history accessible using a spectacular Hollywood-inspired cinematic style and a first-rate international orchestral score by Benjamin Wallfisch.

I would have to say the more I listen to this score, the more I love it... it has some great power behind, that makes it stand out. It wants to be heard from the deep chorus and heart pounding beats, you might want to make sure you are awake. Benjamin Wallfisch rocks this one out of the film, it steps way beyond with this score. I do recommend this this composer is pure gold, if this is any indication of what we can expect from his style... I welcome it!

Info: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by iZLER & Curt Schneider. Linda White, a devoted Christian housewife, leads a sheltered existence in suburban Texas. Her world is turned upside-down when she discovers that her dying husband, Abe, has a 23-year old illegitimate son named Raymond living in Florida. Somewhere on the edge of guilt and loneliness, Linda grants Abe's final wish and sets off on a quixotic journey to find Raymond and bring him back.

It was some wonderful pieces of score and some very nice beats that must help the movie along, but it is one of the shortest scores I think I have ever seen. Now do not mistake it's length for being a bad score, it serves it's purpose... well you just need to watch the trailer below. It's sweet and sentimental in the style as it moves along track to track, as I have said it serves it's purpose.

Okay if you know me, then you know that the combination of Tim Burton and Danny Elfman is one of the greatest director/composer teams. The score has the memorable theme from the Dark Shadow original series and it well placed not to be over shadowed by Elfman's style. It is a nice tribute to Bob Cobert's original idea.. so it's eerie and not to serious. Once again this is a great piece from Danny Elfman and I find it to be very entertaining, it makes me want to see the film even more.

I would like to give a message to Jonathan Frid's family he was the original Barnabas Collins and he passed away on the 13th of April. He did get to be in the new version of the film and I only hope he got to see the finished piece. Rest In Peace.

Okay this film looks amazing, the score is amazing and me getting an early listen to the score by Ilan Eshkeri is priceless. I have been hearing great buzz in the musical circles/forums I shall admit I go to on a daily basis and I am hopefully one of the few who gets the word out first. I find this score raw and dark like a tiger going after it's prey... plotting and hanging low only to pounce. As it swiftly bites into the neck and pulls in back into the darkness where it once came. So does that grab your interest, well it should Ilan Eshkeri manages to strike this score and keep your attention to what might be behind you.

In the 100 years since the famed RMS Titanic hit an iceberg and plunged into the ocean, it has been celebrated on stage, on television and in film.  The recording, which features extensive liner notes by Randall Larson, celebrates the music from these productions.  Titanic: An Epic Musical Voyage will be available digitally on April 3rd, and in stores on April 10, 2012, the 100th anniversary of the maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic.

I have always enjoyed the score to this television show "Fringe" as I call it Lady X-files and I may be corrected on because there is so much more to it. So trip your memory to season III in the best way you know how, for me it will be listening to the work of Chris Tilton. He manages to capture the ark of the show bringing you closer to the characters every move. It is a very dark yet moving piece as I said or will say bringing this score a life of the vast unknown... while keeping your feet on the ground. This is Tilton's third score this show, it just goes to show you... don't change what works and Chris Tilton works! Bravo!

Daniel Pemberton is one of the most inventive and in-demand composers of television music in the UK, with two Royal Television Society Award nominations under his belt (for Occupation and Desperate Romantics).

His music for BBC Four’s drama series based on Douglas Adams’ cult classic ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’ showcases Pemberton’s instantly catchy style: a score driven by a retro feel channeled through infectious harpsichord riffs and cimbalom melodies over a pop combo beat - as lifted right out of a 1960s detective TV show. Pemberton’s score is an ode to UK TV legends such as John Barry, Laurie Johnson and Roy Budd, but with a modern twist and it also features other quirky elements such as Wendy Carlos-inspired lo-fi electronica!

It's a very electrical perky score, something you might hear from "A Clockwork Orange"... but here we are in the new century will this style hold up? I think so, I found it to be rousing and fun... I said perky all ready. Daniel Pemberton captures the beat and following adventures of the detective Dirk to a sharp point, where you will like it... maybe love it. I find that television shows need full releases because sometimes you only hear a click, where here you get the complete piece as it was intended to be heard.

There is many different styles on this Cd, I have the complaint of the tracks with the dialogue... I was never a fan of that on any soundtrack/score. You might enjoy it, it works if it's like "Duel Of The Fates" where they incorporate into the music, not a separate stand-alone track. Outside of that the music is very strong and will represent this film in the way it was intended to be.

Jack and Rose are members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage.

 Okay you all know what this movie is and the success it has brought in from it's box office numbers to the stars it had. You also know my certain love for James Horner's work, so what is left to tell you? I have never seen this movie from start to finish, I have seen clips and parts. I don't want to see it, I know how it ends. The music is some of the strongest epic tale of disaster you might find by Horner. He as a composer has done his share of sad score music, this was well known and epic film. The re-release is an updated telling to give you more of what you all ready love with the first two Cd's. The third and forth Cd's represent more of the music you would find during that period of the Titanic. I do enjoy this music and the update is well worth your time, make it last forever.

   Paul Parducci has enjoyed a successful career in Hollywood as a Film and Television Actor. He has appeared on TV shows like "NYPD Blue," "Desperate Housewives" and "Murphy Brown" and starred in Films like "A Gun, A Car, A Blonde" with Billy Bob Thornton and the John Gotti BioPic "At The Sinatra Club" just to name a few.
    Paul is a native of Roselle, New Jersey. He served in the US Army and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from National University. I’ve been a pretty busy Film and Television Actor for most of my life.

I’ve always had a lot of interests-but the arts have been where I’ve found my home.

This day (this year) I am an author. I have been a writer for years and have sold and had produced Television shows, Cartoons and films but this year I finally put out my first book.

   It was while watching Romero's Night of the Living Dead at the tender age of 6 that solidified Julianne’s respect of the Undead. Since that day, she has been preparing herself for the (inevitable) Zombie Apocalypse. While classically trained in all of the ways to defend herself, she took up writing in order to process the desire she now covets; to bestow a second and final death upon the Undead.
   As the only girl growing up in a family with four children in the Canadian countryside, Julianne needed some form of escape. Her choice was the imaginations of others which only fostered the vibrancy of her own. The horror and forensic/crime thriller genres top her list of favorites, but she can never turn down a good science fiction, fantasy or mystery read.
   Julianne appears in the anthology Women of the Living Dead with a story entitled The Living Dead at Penderghast Manor. Look for her short stories in future anthologies. Days with the Undead: Book One is her first full-length book, the basis of which can be found in her popular web serial of the same name.

  -Tell us about your career and what you are currently working on or involved with?

My writing career is only just starting. I have published one book, Days with the Undead: Book One and have been writing for different anthologies. I currently appear in Women of the Living Dead with a story titled The Living Dead of Penderghast Manor and will soon have two more stories in upcoming anthologies both released by Sirens Call Publications.

-Is this what you thought you would be doing with your life, what was your first passion?

That’s an interesting question, to be honest. I have always had a passion for writing but I admit that I lost it somewhere along the way. Lost it might not even be the correct term either. I took the advice of a mentor and focused more on science over literature. I was still a voracious reader; I just didn’t have the time to write anything original. I’m very much glad to be in a position to fulfill that need within my soul again.

-To whom do you credit your success to, who gives or gave you the most support?

I credit my success to myself to be honest. Since I had to find my way back to what it was that gave me joy, I take full credit. Part of that credit may have to go to a life threatening illness that I survived but in the end, I found the tenacity for writing that I once held.

-If you could meet or work with [living or dead], who would that be and why?

I’d love to work with H.P. Lovecraft. His stories come to live in my mind and play out long after the words have finished.

-What would you like to be remembered for 100 years from now?

I would like to be remembered for being a nice person 100 years from now. Not that I’m a horrible person now or anything, I just think that would be a great way to be remembered. On a literary note, I’d like to be remembered for making a meaningful contribution to the literary landscape. Just keep in mind that meaningful doesn’t have to mean huge sales - though that would be nice!

-Who inspires you?

That is a hard question… Inspiration can come from so many different outlets. In the end, I’d have to say that the people around me that impress a small portion of their personalities on me in the shortest of moments likely inspire me the most. A simple idiosyncrasy can make for a great character!

-How are things different today, than the same day 1 year ago?

One year ago today, I was sitting down to my computer after having regained a good portion of my sight and writing. At that point in time, I didn’t have a finished manuscript or even a fully fleshed out plot. Today I have a book in print, I have stories in 3 anthologies (one released and two coming out very soon) and a few stories in eZines. I’ve embarked on a virtual book tour and am enjoying every minute of it. Life is better than I ever could have dreamt.

-What is the last song you bought or listened to in your musical device?

The last song that I listened to was All I Want Is You by U2 and the last song I purchased was Goyte’s Somebody That I Used To Know.

-Last good film you had seen, and the best movie you would recommend to someone asking?

Actually today I finally caught Final Destination 5 and I thought it was excellent! If I had to recommend a movie to someone that was looking for a stellar watch, it would be Identity; it’s one of my favorites and I tend to watch it at least a few times a year.

-What is the single greatest moment in your life?

Seeing my book available for purchase. Hands down.

-Favorite Horror Film?

Night of the Living Dead (1968)

-Favorite Book?

I have to pick just one?! The Marvelous Land of Oz by L. Frank Baum

Lorelei Bell [Author]

Born and still stuck in boring Northern Illinois, I've grappled with my dyslexia all my life, and hated when school began, because that was the end of my endless daydreams and freedom. Needless to say, I was not an A student. The only A's I got were in ART.

I was always drawing. My drawings became cartoons, and eventually I discovered writing. Unfortunately my spelling was horrible. It was brought to my attention plenty of times.

But that was the past. This is now. Computers. Who knew there would be such a thing as "spell check"?

I spent at least 30 years writing and querying agents, and publishers (back in the day), and had no luck. My first book that I ever held in my hands was Spell of the Black Unicorn, self published, but worth it to be able to have people buy it, have a book signing at Borders. Plenty of people loved it and wanted more. (I have written a sequel, but I'm busy writing my vampire series now.)

After this, I had to write my own vampire novel, since everyone was so into it. Finally! But alas, agents continued to reject me. I finally tried eBook publishers, but I simply got no where with this. So, finally I found Copperhill Media, who published my first vampire novel, Vampire Ascending, and is about to release my second book in this series soon (in 1011).

I was into vampires before it was "cool". Believe me. I was considered strange or weird. But I didn't care, I got along fine with my solitude. Writing came naturally to me. It was the understanding of plotting, and the art of writing that I had to learn over the years. Now, I'm happy to see that so many people enjoy my first book so much, they want the second book right now!

I'm so happy I never gave up my writing or my dreams. Some dreams just take a life time to achieve.

-Tell us about your career and what you are currently working on or involved with?

I'm currently working on book #3, #4, and notes/scenes for #5 of the Sabrina Strong Series.

-Is this what you thought you would be doing with your life, what was your first passion?

(chuckles) When I began writing was a very long time ago. When I was in my 20's I thought I would become published and live a very nice life. That was a few decades ago. Since then I've struggled, and worked in factories, retail, and driving buses. (I like doing menial work where I can work on the story in my head).

So, to answer the question. My first passion was art, when I was young. I have a two year degree in art. But my real passion is writing. You'd have to put a stake in my heart to make me stop writing.

-To whom do you credit your success to, who gives or gave you the most support?

My husband gives me 100% support. He does the laundry so that I don't have to take time out for that. He helps me with cleaning and does a lot of the cooking. He goes to all my book signings and he's just there for me.

Success comes from not giving up, and so I have to say my mother-in-law who was very much encouraging and told me never to give up. I miss her.

-If you could meet or work with [living or dead], who would that be and why?

It changes with the decades. I'd like to meet Danica Patrick. She's a tough local girl who races cars—in fact she's in the Daytona 500. She is tough and resilient and she's most like my character Sabrina Strong.

-What would you like to be remembered for 100 years from now?

For changing certain aspects about vampires in the genre.

-Who inspires you?

Right now, it's my fans. I will get someone out of the blue who has found my site on Facebook and tell me “I love your books”. They usually go on and say that they can't wait for the next book. That's what keeps me going right now.

-How are things different today, than the same day 1 year ago?

About a year ago I wasn't as embedded in Facebook and the blog world as I am now. This time last year I was going to blogs asking to be on their blog. Now, they're coming to me (like you, and I thank you), asking me if I'd like to be on their blog.

And, of course, I've got two books out now, which helps. People realize it's a series now and are looking forward to that next book. I've got them addicted to my books like vampires are addicted to blood.

-What is the last song you bought or listened to in your musical device? 

Yeesh! I don't remember. Um, it might have been Twilight. Others I've been given disks. I really like movie scores, and classical music. I'm a big Beethoven fan—he was very innovative for his time, sort of a rogue, like me.

-Last good film you had seen, and the best movie you would recommend to someone asking?

It would have to be the last Harry Potter movie (#7 part two). I'm looking forward to Dark Shadows movie, though.

-What is the single greatest moment in your life?  

When I met my husband. We've been together for 26 years, just celebrated our “first date” anniversary.

-Favorite Horror Film?

I'm not a purist on horror films, like perhaps you, or your followers are, so I'll give you my favorite Dracula film: Francis Ford Coppola's “Bram Stoker's Dracula”. It followed the book much better than I had expected. Until I see “Dracula 2012”, that's the one I'm going with for now.

-Favorite Book?

A book is like a friend to me (maybe everyone feels this way), when I sit down I want to feel as though I am there, and once I close it, I want to go back. I would have to say every single Harry Potter book written. There have been a few other books that came close. But these are my favorites above all.

-Favorite Song?

Today? There was a piano adagio that I was listening to this morning that's beautiful. But one is very beautiful, peaceful, and brings back memories—plus it's how I got the title of my first Sabrina Strong book: “Lark Ascending”.

-Favorite Film Character? Harry Potter, after Dracula, of course.

-Favorite Film Composer? I think John Williams.

-Favorite Thing in Your Home? 

Probably my computer, but my library is important too, as are pens (I have collections of pens). (You meant other than my husband, right?)

-Favorite First Pet? 

Probably a dog, or a cat. I can remember the dog's name, but not the cat. It's weird, but I don't recall a lot from childhood. I blocked a lot of it out. I want to say the dog's name was Butch. It seemed to be something of a popular name in the 50's I guess. So, we'll go with that.

-Favorite Coffee or Tea? Coffee - it would have to be a mocha with all the bad stuff in it. (^;

-Favorite Phrase? “Just do it.”

-Favorite Hiding Place [Not that we are looking]?

I'm usually invisible anyway, but I love taking walks, or hiking in the wilderness. I am a birdwatcher, so going out into the woods and fields around the prairie/wetlands park that we manage is wonderful.

-If you could tell someone something someone told you, "words to live by" what would that be?

I've got a number of them. One is “Be yourself, because everyone is already taken”. I also like to treat others the way I'd like to be treated. Also, in relation to writing: “No one can tell you how to write.” Although, it would be nice if someone pointed out what the heck you're doing wrong!

My Thoughts: Okay I love films, but two of these films are just like if you have a film camera... doesn't mean you should and I mean that respectfully. Come on if I wanted to spend time watching a film with naked ladies in a bathtub, I would not be watching these [respectfully, I would use the fast forward]. Now I did say there was one descent one in the group and I cannot really tell you that you would enjoy it, but I did. I get that some of you film makers are or want to be an artist with your work, you don't need an hour and a half telling your story... and just because your title is longer than my arm, does not help the story out either. Okay that was a big hint on you all reading between the lines.
