Los Angeles, CA (September 16, 2015) - IFMCA nominated composer Matthew Llewellyn (Wishin' And Hopin', Deep In The Darkness) has created the analog synth score for The Murder Pact, airing on Lifetime, Sunday, September 20. Inspired by the Edgar Allan Poe classic "The Tell-Tale Heart", writer John Doolan and director Colin Theys (Deep In The Darkness, Wishin' and Hopin') give a new spin to Poe's story which now revolves around four friends whose promising future at a prestigious university is jeopardized when they witness the accidental death of their classmate. As another student reveals she knows about their involvement, the friends panic and start to plot her murder. The Murder Pact stars Alexa PenaVega, Beau Mirchoff, Renee Olstead, John Heard and Sean Patrick Thomas.
"Colin and I agreed that this score needed a contemporary edge, something completely different than anything else we've done before" explains the composer. "Despite being entirely electronic, I approached this film as if I were scoring it with an orchestra using distinct electronic 'sections', colorful effects/textures, and character themes. Since the film is based on The Tell-Tale Heart, we incorporated a heartbeat-like sound into the score which is now a part of Lisa's theme. It appears in various forms and instruments throughout the film and really helps create the drive that we were looking for."
The official soundtrack album, now available on MovieScore Media, also includes the original pop theme song "Deadly Romance", co-written with singer Kathryn Baar (aka SPELLES).

Matthew Llewellyn has been an integral member of Brian Tyler's team working on high profile projects such as Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Now You See Me, The Expendables 2 & 3, and Final Destination 5. As a composer, Llewellyn wrote additional music for Far Cry 3 and John Dies At The End; he also provided musical arrangements for the video games Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
