Varèse Sarabande will release the THE FINAL GIRLS – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on November 6 and on CD December 4, 2015. The album features original music by composer Gregory James Jenkins (GOLDIE AND BEAR).
“THE FINAL GIRLS was my first feature score and I’m super proud of it,” said Jenkins. “In the film, our lead characters get sucked into an 80’s slasher movie called Camp Bloodbath. One of the biggest challenges was trying to create a score that was heavily steeped in 1980’s while still trying to bring something new to the table.”
When Max (Taissa Farmiga) and her friends reluctantly attend a anniversary screening of Camp Bloodbath, the infamous ‘80s horror film that starred Max’s late mother (Malin Akerman), they are mysteriously sucked into the silver screen. They soon realize they are trapped inside the cult classic movie and must team up with the fictional and ill-fated camp counselors, including Max’s mom as the scream queen, to battle the film’s machete-wielding killer. With the body count rising in scene after iconic scene, who will be the final girls left standing and live to escape this film? THE FINAL GIRLS is a genre-blending horror comedy also starring Adam DeVine, Thomas Middleditch, Alia Shawkat with Alexander Ludwig and Nina Dobrev.

Gregory James Jenkins is a composer and producer in Los Angeles, CA. After growing up near Detroit, MI he moved to Boston, MA to study music synthesis at the Berklee College of Music.
Over the past 8 years he’s done the music for dozens of commercials, scored several short films, and has had his music featured in films such as THE LUCKY ONE and A VERY HAROLD AND KUMAR 3D CHRISTMAS. In 2014 he saw the release of the album Not a Trampolineby Rob Cantor, which he produced and mixed under his alias Gregtronic. THE FINAL GIRLS is his first feature length score. In addition to loving synthesizers, outer space, and his wife (Zabeth Russell), he is currently one of the composers for Disney’s GOLDIE AND BEAR.
“This is not your typical film score, as it’s mostly electronic based,” Jenkins described. “Most of the score was me and my computer. A lot of analog synths were used. For the geeks out there here’s a list: Roland SH-1000, Yamaha CS-15, Elektron Analog Keys, Korg Volca series, Moog Liberation, Dave Smith Prophet 08, Korg Poly-800. I also would like to point out the contributions of two amazing musicians. Chase Deso did all of the guitar work peppered throughout the score, and Jake Bartfield played cello, double bass and electric bass.”
Stage 6 Films presents THE FINAL GIRLS now playing in theaters, On Demand, and on Digital HD! On Blu-Ray™ November 3, 2015. Varèse Sarabande will release the THE FINAL GIRLS – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on November 6 and on CD December 4, 2015.
