Lakeshore Records: THE REWRITE [2015] - Clyde Lawrence and Cody Fitzgerald

Lakeshore Records will release THE REWRITE – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on February 24th and on CD May 5, 2015.  The album features the film’s original score by Clyde Lawrence (HARD SELL) with additional music by Cody Fitzgerald (HARD SELL).  Also on the album are songs by Madeleine Peyroux (“Don’t Wait Too Long”), Stolen Jars (“Folded Out”), and Vince Guaraldi (“Since I Fell For You”).

Once upon a time, Keith Michaels (Hugh Grant) was an Award-winning Hollywood screenwriter, but divorce and a string of unsuccessful films have left him with nothing but bad debts and blank pages. So when his agent arranges a job as guest screenwriting professor at a remote university in upstate New York, a desperate Keith can't say no. Initially hoping to give minimal effort to actual teaching so he can focus on his next script, Keith unexpectedly finds himself becoming invested in his students lives, including Holly (Marisa Tomei), a single mom looking to start her own new chapter. The Rewrite features an all-star cast, including J.K. Simmons, Allison Janney, Chris Elliott, and Bella Heathcote.

“The first piece I wrote was the main theme for Keith's (Hugh Grant) journey throughout the film.  It is called ‘Paradise Misplaced’, the same name as the film that Keith’s character wrote back in his heyday, earning his awards and praise,” said Lawrence.  “In constructing the different iterations of this theme, and all the film’s themes for that matter, I tried to keep enough elements consistent that the theme is thread through, but change enough so that the pieces feel emotionally distinct.”

RLJE/Image Entertainment presents THE REWRITE, in theaters in limited release, VOD and iTunes on February 14th and ON DVD March 30, 2015. THE REWRITE - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available digitally on February 24th and on CD May 5, 2015.
